I wrote this out of frustration for the dev team at splashtop and posted it along with some other stuff on there q&a thread for them.Thought i would share with everyone else thats here.
Heres the reason your getting so many complaints about the full screen and on screen controls not working.
1.NO DETAILED STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS.
2.YOU FORGOT TO MENTION THE MOST IMPORTANT THING,WHAT GAME RESOLUTION IT SUPPORTS.
3.SINCE YALL CAN'T SEAM TO GET IT RIGHT I GUESS I"LL HELP YOU SOME.
4.HERE'S MY STEP BY STEP GUIDE.
First things first lets get the resolution out of the way. Since the primes screen resolution is in the HD peramaters it will only support 1280x720 or 1280x800 which is a wide screen ratio of 6:9 or 6:10.This is why everyone is epic failing with the full screen and screen controls, so with further ado heres my quick guide.
1.once you have your splashtop streamer and splashtop THD setup , open your THD app and where your connection shows up at out to the right side on the same line you should see a bubble shaped icon with a (>) on it click that and you'll go to a screen with the option to change your resolution change it to one of the above mentioned too.
2.Back out to the THD connection screen and connect to your computer remotely.
3.Now use your actual computer and not tablet and start Skyrim .Go to options and change your Ratio and Resolution to your resolution you set in STEP 1.Setting the Ratio first will give you the correct resolution choses in the drop down menu.So to get 1280x720 you'll set the ratio 6:9 and for 1280x800 you'll set the ratio to 6:10.
5.Start skyrim and you should be in full screen mode now and all on screen controls should work without problem.
6.Suprise now you can also plug and play with the xbox360 wired-controler.
7.Please Let me know if this was any help!!!!!

When I hook up my prime in r my 720 p TV everything works great, shows the whole screen. But when I hook it up to my 1080p screen it cuts off the outer edge if the screen all the way around. Thick enough to barley see the apps icon on the home screen. But it also does this on my Acer a 500, so I think it is a android issue. Is there a setting that I have never seen before to fix this?
Also I made sure its not the zoom, wide or stretch feature on the TV

this is an issue with your TV enabling overscan of the HDMI image. on my panasonic plasma TV i had to troll through the advanced picture settings and change the "HD Size" to "Size 2". i don't know why panasonic makes this the default but that's how it goes. once that setting was made the display was a perfect 1080p crop. changing zoom/wide/stretch doesn't solve this problem because all that does is adjust how a sub-1080p image is presented on the 1080p surface.

My TV used to do the same, it's as he says: find overscan, give it the boot!
Has anyone found an app or method to stretch the comic page to completely fit the screen? When I choose "fit to screen" it has large black spaces on either side. I am looking for a way to utilize all my screen space without it shrinking the comic down to the size of say, the Nook Tablet. I guess the image would have to be stretched somewhat. Anyone know what i'm talking about ?
I haven't tried on the Touchpad yet, but on my Nook I would always use the "fit to width" option, then there is just some vertical scrolling needed. Of course, that has a smaller screen too so I would need to read in landscape mode and scroll for each row of panels. It still worked pretty well though.
I bought my touchpad just to read comics on. If your describing what I think you are, its because most comics are not the exact size of the screen so when your in portrait mode there's about a half inch of blank space so its just black. If you stretched the comic it would probably look weird.

That was one of my reasons for buying a TP too.
On PV for example, when you choose "actual size" it spreads past the left/right borders I would just love it to stay when it hits them so I can utilize all my screen space and not have to scroll. It would be stretching the image I guess but it doesn't look weird because I can do it if I zoom manually, but I have to do so for every page, thus, scrolling. I am not sure if there are other issues such as resolution complicating the problem. It's like the cropping issue on wallpapers - I just don't have the knowledge to identify what the problem is exactly. The correct borders aren't being detected. It seems to happen on every app. The "fit to screen" function thinks the black space is part of the comic.
It's not a huge deal I would just love to find a method to stretch the image to fit perfectly. Would gladly pay for it.
I use comic rack and when it's in landscape mode and I put it on single page, the page fits automatically width wise, doesn't go past. I just scroll up and down, don't need to go left/right to see cut off images. It's that what you're trying to achieve? Same thing goes with PV for me. Width wise the page fits

Perfect viewer works very well for me for all of the comics I've read. I fit to width and just have to touch to scroll once to get the last inch or so and then to turn the page. Works great with the TP as there seems to be minimal distortion of the panels with its aspect ratio.
Yes that is what I am using (fit to width). It is almost perfect but yeah, you gotta tap the page to get the extra height.
I am guessing this is some technical problem, as I have yet to see any reading app that can fill the page on both the width and height exactly. Yet, when I read PDF magazines on Perfect Viewer, it squeezes the image into the screen and I can read it easily.
Maybe it's the comic resolution or something (though I have tested multiple).
I don't see it not fitting vertically an issue. If everything did fit on the page sometimes the words would be too small to read. I use the TP in landscape mode all the time, I like viewing pages that way better.

Most of this was I answered above, recently referencing how PV delas with PDF's, squeezing it onto the screen.
Can't fathom reading comics in landscape mode as this would make them even bigger than most physical comics, and only allow you like 1 strip per read.
I bought a MK802 for a Car PC project that I am doing. I use to have a Windows based Car PC, so I already have six 7inch VGA w/ touchscreens installed. I bought the MK802 specifically for salvaging the screens and because of Androids mobile diversity.
Issue 1: The touch panel is USB based. I plug it in and a mouse pointer pops up on the screen. I am able to move to the left and right correctly. But up and down are inverted, so when I push on the top of the screen, the pointer is at the bottom and when I push at the bottom, it appears on the top. Is there a config file I can edit? maybe switch the commands for up and down?
Issue 2: The MK802 are built for high definition displays with high resolutions. I used a HDMI to VGA converter to convert it to the port I need. Issue is that the screen can only work at a resolution of 800 × 480 (1,152,000) pixels w/ display format: 4:3(800*600 default), 16:9 is optional. When I plug the two together, the screen turns to a red color. Thats with MK802 on 720p. Now if I change it to 480p, I can see the screen, but its not sitting correctly. Is there a file to adjust the resolution to a lower one that will make the screen happy?
Any help would be appreciated.

I think this can be done in screen. I remember seeing that in its option menu. I will test today and see if it works. Also, I noticed that I cant adjust the the format on the MK802. I had screwed something up and flashed the ROM to their supposed latest ROM. It adds a ton of features that seemed to be missing before, but has taken away other features like resolution adjustment.
How did this ever turn out. im looking into to doing something very similar. what do you use for sound processing. any help would be awesome.
Hi.
Yes, i have, I9300, i bought multimedia stand for note II and it works like charm. One small problem. Screen resolution of my monitor is 1200x1600, and what resolution S3 has - you know. Is there any way or program that will change screen resolution after connection S3 with monitor to the 1200x1600? It looks not good when S3 give me his native resolution, all blurry and crappy view on the monitor.
Stand has 3x USB, 1xHDMI, 1x3.5jack, and place to connect charger that has 5V 2A. For curious ones i have bought that device here that is Polish shop but pictures you can see there.
Anybody know is there any way to make that phone use 1200x1600 screen resolution after connection to that base?
Oh, one more question, that base make phone to use landscape mode, but when i use skype, or camera, it works in normal mode, and screen is blinking till my camera is running. When i turn my camera off - phone is using FULL SCREEN MODE!! The same situation is in youtube app and when i am watching movies. It uses screen resolution that my monitor has.
Anybody can help me with that?
Nope, there's nothing you can do with hdmi resolution -plenty of similar posts but none I've read found a solution. Can't make any sense of your second question.
Oh, sorry, it`s hard to me to translate that straight from polish ok i try again: Camera. For example: When my cellphone is connected to that base, and i`m using skype, when i turn on my front or back camera, person who i talking to view me on side, like 90 degrees to left. Cellphone is forced to use landscape mode on that base and only camera is working normally (neutron music player too ;P )
Another fact that normal screen is not on full screen, on top and bottom there is black stripe - i understand why. And skype, youtube or other movies is using fullscreen mode.
Other soft for s3 supporting that connection to base?
Hi.
Just tried playing with RemixOS on a media center pc that I have attached to my TV. At the moment this pc is running a regular linux distro, but I thought it could be interesting to see how Android would work for this purpose. Problem is that my TV is an older 1080p 46" that suffers from an old issue where a large part of the screen is placed behind the massive border on the frame. As such, when running at highest resolution, I loose parts of the screen on each side, top and bottom. I found that running 1366x768 fixes this issue.
RemixOS of cause, is running at 1920x1080 by default, just like any other OS that I have had attached. Difference is that I have no way to change this. I tried changing DPI via kernel boot arguments, but this did not work as it should. The calculations for DPI
Code:
sqrt(1366^2 + 768^2)/46
states that the DPI should be set at 35. But doing so makes everything 100 times smaller on the screen.
How can I get this TV working with RemixOS?
