Actually, hang on. Do you mean service as in making calls/data/phone service. Or warranty service ??

You're also in the incorrect forum. Sprint Galaxy SII is the Epic 4g Touch, which has its own forum. They are different models of phones, with different radio hardware. So it's a pretty safe bet that flashing an i9100 firmware will cause loss of signal, yes.

Yes lost of signal ie data and making phone calls.

So what is the next option if you like samsung phones. Droid Charge or Galaxy S II (If it ever makes it to verizon).
If it makes u feel better its not a noob question imo jus cuz wen I bought my fascinate way back wen it came n the guy at verizon told me 4g would be backwards compatible n that I would have it wen it came out... Guess they were as informed about 4g at the time as they were bought the new froyo 2.2 w flash that was goin 2 be released at the end of that month lol.... Verizon reps suck

Probably, but it'd probably have crippled mobile data speeds since these two carriers use different frequencies for high speed data.

If its anything like the Skyrocket, which it is hardware wise then it could possibly have access to T-Mobile 3g with a modem flash. Let's hope so.

There's no guarantee... Have to look at the specs to find out bands on the phone.
EDIT: current specs that I found on gsmarena.com say that it DOESN'T get UMTS 1700mhz, which I believe is necessary for 3g/"4g" on T-mobile. So possible, yes, but with crippled data speeds.

lol, how do you think it gets LTE? 1700mhz. Like the Skyrocket, good try.
Like I said, we will have to wait and see if the s2 (t989) modem will work on it. Cross your fingers everyone.

I'm not here to argue just saying that because the hardware is similar it could work. But again, there is no guarantee this trick will work with the At&t Note

Why not keep the international note? It'll have T-Mobile 3g, and will have much more dev support than the ATT version. Seems like a no-brainer to me seeing as you'll have one in your trades.

Right now the international one does not have 1700 for T-Mobile 3g. Also the international one will never have LTE.
And look at the AT&T S2 and skyrocket. They both have good dev support.

International does not get 3g on TMobile. There is a development bounty of $910 right now to try to get a dev to come with a work around. It shows 1700 but does not work.

That bounty will NEVER get paid. The 1700 is for GSM, which is for voice and data up to Edge. The phone doesn't have hardware to receive 1700 UMTS, which is needed for 3g/"4g" on T-mobile USA.

As far as I know, the international version doesn't.

Actually, it depends on what you expect 4g to mean, and which variant you are talking about, since you only specified "galaxy s2".
If you are talking about the variant this forum is for (i9100), and you're talking about HSPA+ (which admittedly isn't "true 4g" by original ITU standards, but is now considered as such, mostly for marketing purposes, in my opinion), then yes. If you're talking about LTE, then no.
There are other Galaxy S2 variants that DO support LTE, though.

My answer above still stands. It supports HSPA+, but not LTE. So it depends on what you mean by "4G".

ctomgee is right.
-Some countries refer to H+ as 4G, if that's your own case, the answer is YES. International version of Galaxy SII supports H+ perfectly fine.
-The standard 4G network in some countries is called LTE. If this is your own case, then the answer is NO. The international version of galaxy SII doesn't support LTE network.
Problem solved.

You will need the i9305 for 4g

What do you mean 'when' it goes live?
It is very live already
And no it doesn't have an LTE or 4g radio.
But from what I've read there is a new version of the SGS 3 coming up the GT-I9305 which is international, GSM, quadcore, 2gb ram and LTE!
I don't know however how confirmed that is...

Soon there will be the GT-I9305 (Correct me if I'm wrong) and that will also have an LTE radio
I am really annoyed about samsung excluding this feature. I only got my S3 about a week or a week and a half ago just to find out the international version GT-i9300 does not support 4G. Now i wish i had waited another month or so...then again I did get a good offer from orange. The only good thing from orange that is !
Thaths for not doing research.

You're in the wrong spot. This post is currently in the forum for the GT-I9100, a GSM phone that doesn't even work on Sprint's network.
You want the forum for the Epic 4G Touch.
