Hello guys, can someone please tell me which rom has the best batterij life?
I'm running on DiXperia3_'Impossibly Perfect' at the moment.
it is depended on how the user use their phone . for myself i use stock se rom and z's uncapped fix thats it , i use my phone to text, call and internet (mail, youtube and slight porn). i dont use my phone for games. my battery last for 1day and a half. heavy use 1day.
ive tried every rom here on dev thread and nothing satisfies me, but if ever FXP perfected his cm7 then maybe ill let go on stock.

Stock was pure hell for me.....
+1 stock 2.3
i have flashed Amin’s Aosp 2.3.7 rom 2 days ago.it is on for 2 days and 4 hours and i still have 36% battery.I'm really impressed with this rom's battery life
I have been Using my SGS2 on cm7 since the day i bought it some days back.. The thing is i dont get good battery life. Battery Monitor Widget Pro shows -10mA to -90mA and sometimes upto -150mA drain in stand by. Last night i lost 13% in 8 hours. I recharged it to 100% the battery drain was about -2mA for 4-5 hours then suddenly it increased to 50mA and now its -91mA since 2 hours continously. I am on Siyah Kernel. Smartassv2 kernel. Cpu underclocked to 1ghz. i Also have autokiller. brightness to lowest. And manually kill apps. I got the phone coz the my old iphone was not lasting a day but it did last 5-6 hours of screen on time. SGS2 doesnt give me over 3 hours of screen on time. NO WIFI. Just 2g data. Whatsapp every 10min. 4-5 min gaming a hour.
So you read the ten million battery faq posts and make a start with better battery stats thread and app .
TEST with a stock GB rom .

I didnt understand the first sentence . AND Yeah i am going to try the stock rom today. I even tried miui v4 as well as gingerbread version of miui but got no improvement.
Make sure you give it about 3 battery cycles download CPU Spy to see if your phone is going into deep sleep

I think 15-16 charge cycles have completed. I flashing stock rom and then trying cm7 again or should i try miui?
MIUI GB is better in battery life comparing to ICS V4,
use with siyah kernel, with app Voltage control undervolt 25v each, noop + coservative, 200-1000mhz
giving good result.

Try pulling your battery out, leaving it 30s and putting it back in, I know that has helped some people get rid of some pretty annoying wakelocks(if wake locks are you problem), it has worked for me in the past

Do you flash with CWM?
It's much easier, yeah with moderate usage I could get 1.5/2 days battery life with stock battery It's a very good ROM, although the MIUI team have stopped developing due to the development of MIUI V4

basicaly all MIUI roms are same, some developers in XDA are just ported with some tweeks and modifications.
some of them are:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1352386
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1502664
The country of Origin of the MIUI is China and released in Chinese language, but there are variouse fan sites who translate the ROM into their language and port with great support. www.miuiandroid.com is famouse among them in english language.
I am currently using MIUI GB ROM and really enjoying it
check it out
i flashed ressurection rom ics. i got 3% drain in 7 hours overnight which is quite good but now again loosing -57mA in standby ie around 3 or so %/h... BetterBatterystats under partial wakelocks shows AudioOut_1 for 3m 17s , RILJ for 1m 9s and few other things ..Kernel Wakelock is (0s)Cntc/wc/ec/)1/1/1 100%.

jje means to say thire r millions of posts on batt prblm y r u starting another wivout reading the already posted prblms ......anyways go thru the the batt drain(find in search)cause ull get an idea were ur wrong....i dont think cm9 gives good batt life but depends on wat no of apps u got..try the stock gb first..an there is no garanty tht the uv,oc or tweaks give u a marvelous batt life.....cheeeerz
so i went back to stock rom. Wiped out the storage. Reseted the phone. Installed nothing. Still i get -57mA battery drain that is almost 5-6% per hour in standby. I have searched like anything. I just cant seem to find anything. My android os usage is 70%. And the battery info shows phone awake for maximum time. i even undervolted on siyah kernel. Didnot use data at all but it shows no difference. Stock,Miui,Resurrection,cm7 no difference. I simply cant get over 4 hours of screen time and phone looses 20-25% over night with data disabled and no apps installed. Am seriously loosing faith on android.
Hi
Last night i installed the [ROM][AOSP][JB][4.1.1][STABLE] SuperNexus - I9300 - BUILD 1 on my Galaxy S3 device and i noticed my battery is draining out like crazy. Cell Standby and Screen are using more than 40% each.
When i was using Ice Cream Sandwich i had the same problem but after installing the battery fix it all worked so tried the fix on JB and nothing.
Is there any other fix or solution for this?
Thanks.
No fix for this until cm sorts it. Live with it or go back to ics I'm afraid mate

That is not repeat not a battery fix if you read the post it fixes a misreported figure only .
battery drain is user start with Better Battery Stats and look for wakelocks .
Battery requires five days use from flashing a new rom .

Screen will always use 40%+ unless you aren't using your phone.

Running the same build myself and experienced an 18% drop last night on standby with Wi-Fi on over 7 hours, i have flashed the latest Siyah kernel update today and ive every confidence this will increase battery life as when i checked the kernel wakelocks this morning the wakelocks were big, the CM kernel i believe is the main culprit in this instance.
Also take into consideration any apps / widgets you have which update and any sTuff you rarely or never use freeze in Titanium backup and also go into advanced in Wi-Fi and set to never or only when plugged in and this will make a difference.
And finally don't use Juice Defender or any other battery saving apps as they use up more battery than they save!

I installed syiah kernel s3-v1.5beta5 over CWM yesterday and still no change, Cell Standby is now using 70% while screen dropped to 7%. I will
now try to disable all automatic updates.
After installing [ROM][AOSP] [4.1.1] Liquid JellyBean Beta 1.1 battery works pretty good without even installing kernel 1.5beta4.
Cell standby dropped to 37% and Screen to 27%
I must say this ROM works faster and adds a few cool options for personalization.

- I recommend you to go to stock or modified ICS , simply functioning Roms and stable .
- JB you can flash it just for fun , still under construction and testing , can't litterly judge it .
You may want to try different modems. Cell standby is mostly not influenced by the ROM but your reception and the flashed modem.

My operator is Movistar from Spain and i am currently outside of the country. I flashed my S3 to JB after leaving the country and now i have no reception, can this be the reason why Cell Standby is always around 70%?

I am using this Rom as well and i must say it`s very good. Have a lot setup possibilities, and runs very smooth. For me i`ts the best JB Rom, better than SuperNexus. Just have the one issue - camera!
Hey friends I am currently running the OMEGA v28 4.1.1 JB ROM on my international GS3 i9300 and it is also rooted of course and I don't think I'm being paranoid but my battery life has took a massive drop since rooting my device. I am not overclocking mu CPU and I have tried out some rooted apps like battery saver for example and I actually think it made it worse. I have all the usual setting disabled to allow for optimal battery life like brightness right down, auto sync off, wi-fi off when the phone is locked I also only use the wi-fi manually if and when I need it and all that good stuff like smart stay and vibration off. I am wondering if anyone knows of something I'm not trying???
Had it charged to 100% this morning at 9PM and by 1PM I'm down to 79% already and I haven't made any calls and only used it to check my email and facebook for around 10 mins!!! is this normal for everyone else???
:crying::crying::crying:
Cheers
Gary
Sound normal for Sammy JB rom.
Some said Facebook is also causing the battery drains.

Did you reset your battery stats? Charge to 100%, reset battery stats from CWM or delete batterystats.bin -file, let the battery run out.
You might want to use currentwidget to log your battery usage.
I noticed big battery drop between 4.0.4 and 4.1.1 used to get 24 hours one charge 4 hours screen time. Now I get only about 12 hours.
Might just be me :/

I'm using also omega rom v28, have it installed recently. I cannot say how good is the battery with this rom, but so far I have like 56% in 20h, with 2h screen, sopcast 30min, voice cals 37mins....etc (also using wifi manually when needed)
Try out different roms and find out what works for you.
You can also use an app like BetterBatteryStats to check what's draining your battery. Its just to check whats use power.
Don't use batterysaving apps most of the time they are making it worse
I'm running Omega ROM V27.2 and yes it's normal to have a difference about battery life between ICS & JB.
To improve my battery life I installed the phenomenal extreme kernel, and now I'm totally happy with it. You should take a look to its topic in the GS3 Android Development forum. The dev developed 3 versions of his kernel to fit to most of the phone.
Also as others told you, you should get BBS app to point out the wakelocks & define which app is your problem.
Personally, I'm at 45% charged, and already used it during 21h 10m including more than 2 hours screen on. My auto-sync is always on and my WiFi only when I enable it. I'm using a live wallpaper and a lot Twitter.
When I do nothing I can reach more than 2 days.

Hallo,
I have the OMEGA v28 4.1.1 JB ROM flashed on Thuersday and i´m testing the ROM at a long time.
I use the Phenomenal4.0Medium Kernel and i must say the BatteryLife is very good. I`m working over 15 ours with him and i have 58 % on it.
My WIFI is every time on and Autosync when i use my calender and planners. For me a good app handdling battery life is "GREENPower" in Market Place.

As he recommends ...identifying and reducing your wakelocks should be your primary concern. Been reading loads from developers that the insecure jb kernels themselves should already provide good battery management.

that is exactly why i reverted back to ICS.........JB is nice and smooth but "eats" battery quickly.........now,battery life problem on my i9300,solved
Hey guys, if you are going to use custom ROM's you should be prepared for bad battery. The developers are adding so many different features and hacking certain apps to make them work in their ROM's without a lot of investigation into what the reprecussions to battery are. I used to always use custom ROM's but haven't installed one in about 6 months and haven't any problems with battery life. I have the latest JB on my 9300 and battery life is very good. I use GSAM to watch apps that want to go rouge and start sucking battery life. Media Player Service is a big offender as is Facebook. Also stock widgets that get placed by these JB ROM's are always pinging for new data and kill battery quickly. Get rid of them! If you have a stock ROM and are getting bad battery, 99% of the time it will be bad apps, your job is to determine which ones they are and apps like betterbatterystats and GSAM work great to help diagnose the issue.
can anybody else confirm the above post? because i am not sure about the custom roms.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
I will soon have an S3 so I cannot speak specifically about this device / ROM(s).
What I know from using a lot of Android devices and testing original ROMs vs. custom ROMs:
- original ROMs have too much garbage built-in apps and are slower
- original ROMs have everything working
- custom ROMs are much cleaner and faster
- custom ROMs have (too) much problems, something always not working 100%
- custom ROMs usually have stability & battery issues
My personal advice:
- install latest ORIGINAL ROM.
- root it
- install the free app "App Backup & Restore" from Google Play
- search unuseful apps from Samsung (& others) and block the autorun of these apps (note: do not block basic android or samsung apps, as phone, contacts, etc)
I use this method for 1.5 years and this way my Android is clean (you can save over 100-150Mb RAM), FAST and much better battery. Try it.
In the end, if original ROMs have too many original apps, custom ROMs have to many tweeks that in the end, for my taste, the original ROMs + App Backup & Restore win hands down.

I have always had custom roms on all my android devices but at the moment I am running stock ics in my s3.
I don't think the S3 needs it.
To be honest I find a lot of the stock based roms full of changes I don't really need, ARHD was a great Rom but recently has started to lag really badly for me (and some other users) so I went back to stock just to see and so far I can't complain. Smooth, fast and the battery is as good if not better than the custom roms.
If the camera didn't suck so bad on AOSP I would be there in a instant

Hi guys,
I've a problem and I need some advice.
I've a Kenzo since last October and it's a great phone. I've always used the miui since last month then I've tried some customs ROMs.
My problem is that, with the miui my battery usage was 10% each sot hour and for this reason I could easily reach 8-10 hours sot. The main reason was that I use my phone only for WhatsApp, sync disable, battery saver GPS, no 4g connection and auto brightness disabled.
Last month I read a lot of forums and I read that you could reach ROM the same (or more) sot hours using a custom instead of the miui.
So, for this reason and because I'd like to customise more my phone I decided to flash a custom ROM.
In this last period I've tried ROMs like RR, Nos and lineage os, each in stable and beta version and I combined it also with some stock kernel like Agni and radon. I've always flashed them wiping everything (cache, data, system, internal storage). I also cleared battery stats with Agni toolbox
My problem now is that, with the same usage I used with miui, my battery drains 18% each sot hour. That means that my battery now drains twice faster with the miui.
I don't think that it could be a problem of the battery deterioration: I always pay attention to charge it when it's among 20-40% until it 100%.
My purpose is to reach the same miui battery backup with a custom ROM (I love the possibility to costumize and I'd like to have recent Google os).
In your opinion, it could be possible?
Thanks a lot!!!!
I only have 5-7h sot with latest RR. For me the battery backup at MIUI was better.... But I hate MIUI so far.
