Any extended battery for i717? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I've been looking around for an extended battery for some time for this big screen 4g juice sucker. looking around the internet there only seems to be an international version of extended battery.
http://www.amazon.com/QCell-Samsung...2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1330794008&sr=1-2
I've been using the QCell 2x regular batteries for galaxy note and so far it's quite good. Granted these 2 batteries combined can last me for a day without charging but I still look forward to using only one battery.
Looking at the label on the regular battery, I see it caters to the i9220 version (which is the international one). My guess is that it's not the battery, but the cover does not fit the i717? Has anyone try to mod the above cover to use on the i717?

Seidio is bringing one out.
EDIT: I removed the link because it says not compatible with the i717. Sorry for my confusion.

What are the chances of getting a higher capacity battery of the same size? I have a case on mine so I would like more battery life without having to take it off and those extended batteries are too bulky for me.

That says it's not compatible with the LTE Note, a.k.a. ATT Note.
Most folks report great battery life. I wonder if just having a second battery is enough rather than the expense of an extended one. Thoughts?

I'm taking preorders on a 5000 mah extended battery for the Galaxy Note i717 coming in within two weeks. http://www.techiewarehouse.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=extended+note+i717
If I get anything else in sooner I'll update on here.

You are right, sorry for posting that. I will edit that post. Funny how they did not even put up the page until the i717 model came out?
Thank for pointing that out!

No prob. And I am a bit confused. Wonder why it wouldn't work in the ATT Note? The Notes don't share the same battery? Weird.
---------- Post added at 09:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:28 PM ----------
Guess what? The link in the OP also states it is not compatible with the ATT Note. The user review states something about the back not snapping on correctly so that may be the issue. Don't know but... Beware!

yeah I would really like an extended battery. have a 9 hour flight coming up and will likely have to just get a 2nd one, as I don't want to have to worry about conserving battery as I'm going to be quite bored for 9 hours
thanks for the link justnada22, i'll check it out when it's available, though your site doesn't appear to be loading for me currently.

I asked Mugen Power whether they will bring the extended battery + integrated kickstand to the i717 and they said "working on it".

Really need a protection case (2 layer) that can fix this extending battery...

I just bought a Qcell extended battery rated at 4150 mAh (at least I hope).

Galaxy Note Extended Batteries and Cases
Sorry to resurrect a slightly older thread, but I found some answers and wanted to share.
So I own two Galaxy Note International N7000s and just bought one AT&T i717.
Yes, I can confirm that, for whatever reason, the batteries are just slightly different in shape. I have no idea why. As a result, you need two different extended batteries for each one, you can find them on Amazon from Hyperion, and they're both clearly labeled as to which battery fits which. I've bought both, and they all fit their intended models just fine.
Like many of you, I was looking for a case for my Notes with extended batteries, and I could only find one for the N7000:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007R5I8KA/
It seems that there are none for the i717.
But the good news is that this case DOES fit the i717 AT&T Note with the extended Hyperion battery as well. It holds on snugly, and is fine for that model. There is some air space inside, because the AT&T Note has a smaller battery protrusion and so it doesn't perfectly match the curvature of the case (which is larger) but you'll never notice that, and this is far better than carrying around your Note and extended battery with no case! I bought the red version of this case which is on my i717 AT&T Note, and is just wonderful! It feels so much safer than a Note with no case. So, speaking just for myself, WOULD BUY AGAIN EVEN FOR THE AT&T NOTE!!!
I posted similar information in the product reviews for the Black and Red versions of the case, just to try to help.

C-sign...I don't mind this case with the i7i7 battery back either.

What is the largest extended battery that is reliable that can be used with the stock battery cover? Is it the Anker 2700?

Anyone have insight on if this extended battery will work for our notes?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006ZQL6NS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&m=A3UKFU9C04UXZ9
Just wondering.
Not sure but HOLY HELL that's one expensive battery. The most I've seen was $50+
There is a MUCH better alternative to that one on Amazon for about 20 bucks + $4.99 shipping: http://amzn.to/xtT3Sf
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22752635#post22752635
Ive always had good luck with seidio and mugen batteries. little worried bout those cheaper solutions on amazon. etc.. plus i have the white note. so the white mugen would look better.. I guess i could order, and if it doesnt work, just return it, lol
I hear you about being cautions. I am the same way about the cheap eBay knock offs. But this is from an Amazon vendor (somewhat better selection criteria and overall support) and based on my experience - i've been using the Hyperion batteries for a while now - they are just as good as Mugen. I was just pointing out a few alternatives for folks that might be reading this later...
I'm assuming none of the current N7000 Extended batteries will work on the AT&T Note since N7000 Battery covers don't fit and that's what these extended battery covers are molded after.
I've heard this on numerous occasions also. I would wait to buy one made to fit "i717" - I believe the back covers are different.

That lump is just silly
this thing is huge!
No offense but, that thing is hideous. It takes less than 30 seconds to swap out a battery. For $80 you could buy the OEM charging station (includes OEM battery) + 2 spare OEM batteries. You would in effect have 10,000mah of battery power at your disposal.
Why not have a full backplate

Don't buy it. I had an extended battery on my Captivate that had a hump too and I hated it. I would just rather have the whole door be big then just the bottom part.

They designed it that way to keep NFC intact. Look at the backdoor of your Note and will see two contact points on the NFC antenna that need to make contact with two contact points next to the microsd card slot. NFC compatible extended batteries on eBay have the same design. Also might explain why Mugen is taking so long with their variant because they could not find a work around.
However, that battery might fit with one of the non NFC compatible back covers on eBay. So you could sacrifice NFC for a better look with the extended battery.

Not only is the battery expensive but it makes your phone ugly as sin. The phone is big enough but when you add this battery it turns it into a brick. Don't know why anyone would buy this.

I have one of these extended batteries on my Note. I also had one on my Blackberry before I switched to the Note. I require a long runtime with my phones, and I am not going to carry multiple batteries around with me to do so. Tried that with the BB, and hated it, and went the extended battery route.
So...I agree with the previous post about the battery door being stupid looking.
When I bought the extended battery (from ebay), I received a door for an international version of the note. I knew that was what I was getting since the extended battery door for the LTE version was not out yet, but I wanted to see if I could make it fit somehow. I also was aware that NFC would not work with the new door, and didn't care, since I haven't found a need for it yet.
I got the battery and international door in. battery fit fine, but door did not. I tried trimming the tabs a little and was able to make it fit, but not *lock* in place like the door should. The company I bought the extended battery from said they would send me the LTE door when they got them in, (that is another reason I was willing to try all of this).
I got the LTE door in. Yes, it is ugly. I like the style of the international door MUCH better. I am using the LTE door for now. Battery life on this "cheap" 5000 battery has been awesome. Previously, I was getting only about 6 hours per charge. Now, I am getting 10-12, which gets me through my day. No...it probably isn't a true 5000 battery, but for $12, and a company willing to work with me on the door, I was happy to try it out, and I am happy.
As for protection for the phone with an exteneded battery door, I have this coming in:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/120841214598?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I am hoping that this will give some slight bumper protection but allow the battery bump to stick out. It only surrounds the very edge of the phone, not over the speaker like some of them do, which won't work.
Ok...to make this post even longer....
Anyone know of an extended battery door that looks like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-GT-N7000-Extended-Capacity-Replacement/dp/B006W4JNZ6
that will work on the US LTE? I know it won't have the NFC antenna, but I don't care. I just want one that is shaped like that instead of the ugly bump one I have now.

Has anyone tried a power case yet?

Searched to see if anyone had mentioned this yet, but didn't find anyone talking about it:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/External-32...099120?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3cc475e7b0
I am very interested in this case. Will probably order one, but was hoping someone had tried one already and could give their thoughts on it. You can see my thoughts on the extended battery I already have at this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24815396&postcount=14
I think this power case option looks much better than the lump I have now.
I really like the idea of putting the extra battery capacity into the case. I saw this a long time ago for the iPhone, and was hoping that someone would come out with this for our phone, and they did, but not as nice as some I have seen for the iPhone. I would like one that wrapped around onto the face a little bit, for some protection when I put the phone face down.
Anyone seen any other companies making similar ones for our phone yet?
The case you linked is for the wrong Note. Look for the I717 (ATT Note), not the N7000 (international version).
There is a difference in the back design between the two phones.

This doesn't replace the battery door, so it should work fine. Unless you know of some other difference I am not aware of. I have used about 3 different international versions of bumpers/surrounds/cases on my i717 without any issue. A problem only happens when you try to use the wrong battery door.
I think it will fit perfectly on the US note. It is simply a case and all cases i have bought so far weren't for the US note but fit perfectly.
If this is good quality then this is something I might look at too. I like the fact that it will add more battery life and protect the Note in one item. Please post how it works once you get it.

Is it additive?
So plug this on the back and I get 5700 mAh? Since it doesn't replace the back cover, see no difference between International and US version.
Don't buy it i bought one it doesn't have that size battery, if you open it up it actually has a 2000mah battery so it really is a 1600 may since its Chinese i bought one for my galaxy s2 from same guy and the battery was half the size stated on case. Pure junk

So is Anker. Have used them for many phones and have nothing but the best to say. Mugen may be good but it is way overpriced.
I got a 3500mah battery off eBay for like 25 bucks from E-cell, a quality Japanese company. Its pretty decent, last all day under moderate to heavy use. I recommend, expecially for cost,
Nothing that fits under the stock cover will last any longer than the stock unit. All of those claims of higher ratings are all smoke and mirrors...
If you want something that last longer get the Mugen 5400mah with cover. I've never looked back and I never have to worry about battery life anymore.

Nothing I have found. But I understand where your coming from. I can no longer use it in the Car Dock, I had to use a universal dock.
But unfortunately I have many aftermarket batteries that are the stock size and they all claim to be something they are not. So you have a few options...
1. Use a large battery and deal with the downsides.
2. Live with the smallish battery life.
3. Get a new phone.
I am planning on getting the Note 2 and even though it comes with a larger battery I will probably still buy a larger battery for it if one becomes available as I have realized that having my phones last for 2-3 days has become such a huge asset that it outweighs the downsides. Its actually quite liberating not having to always worry where I'm going to charge my phone. 16 planes rides, 4 hour bus rides, tons of heavy GPS/Map use. I never worry anymore...
I think Samsung (and others) really needs to start making the phones thicker instead of thinner and putting larger batteries in them. I would gladly buy something like a Galaxy Note that is say 50% thicker with a huge battery, vs having to go aftermarket and getting a 100% thicker phone. This obsession with thin phones is for cosmetic reasons and is something I would normally say happens with the Apple crowd as they tend to buy phones for how it makes them look, not necessarily for what the phone does. No offense to any Apple folks, but you know what i'm talking about. If you have a small phone, ok sure thin might be an advantage. But what the heck is the point of making a 5+ inch phone thin as can be?
Excellent points. Thanks!
I have a nice case, but only allows for a standard battery...

Glue a big solar panel on the front of the case?

I just had the stupidest argument just a few hours earlier about this very thing. My Note is pretty much a computer I carry on my belt. If I could just get rid of the 450 minutes and get, say, 100 minutes and put the balance towards a higher data plan, I'd be better off. I guess it just depends on how you use your phone. Mine is a life line, but not to call anyone. If otterbox made a case to fit a bigger battery, I'd rock it all; my wife gets all shame-faced with me when I use my phone because she says it's like I'm holding a wall up to my face..

I got a 3500mah battery off eBay for like 25 bucks from E-cell, a quality Japanese company. Its pretty decent, last all day under moderate to heavy use. I recommend, expecially for cost,

Is this the one you guys are referring to?
Can you post screen time with this?
http://www.amazon.com/3500mAh-Capacity-Business-Battery-Samsung/dp/B008CYPL6Y
Delivery time is a whopping 18-26 days, not sure if I should just get this instead:
http://www.amazon.com/Laza-Extended...2484040&sr=1-6&keywords=extended+battery+i717
Your first link is for the international version and wont fit an AT&T note. It also is not 3500mah, those are fake claims, its the same as the stock battery.
Your second link will actually give you more battery capacity. Around 5 hours of screen on time.

6 hrs. screen on for me consistently. It effective doubled my battery life, which makes sense, because it is essentially 2 cells sandwiched. See my comment in the thread about the laza for a bit of a review.

Yeah I have heard about some of those extended batteries being two stock batteries fitted together. Has anybody tried the AceSoft 5600mAh Extended life battery w Hard Back Cover Door?

With the exception of branding, it looks like the laza. 5600mah is doubtful. Seriously, all the extended batteries look to be to stock battery clones sandwiched, and since all the aftermarket batteries are highly unlikely to match OEM capacity per cell, 5ah is the best we can reasonably expect.

I would agree, I have two sets of those from another manufacture and they are not 5600mah, I get about an hour less screen on time compared to my Mugen 5400mah, and those batteries are slightly thinner than the Mugen, so I would put then at 4600mah or so...

Bought a second i717, bleh- 2700 Anker vs. stock battery

So I bought a really nice, 4 month old, rooted unlocked i717 a few months old to sub for my TMobile S2 on occasion. Battery life was kinda lousy so I looked online and found the Anker had good reviews. I bought one, noticed it was just slightly heavier, and in use that it had noticeably better life than the stock one.
I ended up getting a few minor scratches on that phone's screen and even though I originally loved it (better size than the Note 2, I like the four buttons, same sim size as my S2 for easy swapping) I started to hate it JUST because of the scratches.
I just bought another one, for much less! with AT&T JB, with more accessories. This one is also rooted though I'll need to get it unlocked for TMobile. ANYWAYS,.... I plan to use that Anker battery in this one and sell the other Note and perhaps my T869. I wanted a Note 2 for the battery and refinements but couldn't pass this up, especially as I prefer the proportions and buttons of the original. This one's coming with better cases and a screen protector.
Has anyone measured a good condition stock battery and a 2700 Anker? I know I got a noticeable day to day difference but would like to see actual proof. I got a lot of good news today, sorry about the rambling!
How is the original Note's Defender case? Most of the reviews I've found have been for the Note 2 and mention the screen protector being raised a bit and the home button letting dust in. I don't mind keeping a regular screen protector underneath the Otterbox protector to snug it up and protect it; I'm used to my S2 in two sandwich bags on the beach. I'd still really like a sand/waterproof case if one ever becomes available (and for my T989!). I'm so close to buying an S3 just to get the Seidio Obex! This phone's coming with a Commuter and a screen protector.
Also, are there any good one-piece 2 amp chargers? I've learned to carry a charger to some of my shifts, scorekeeping and such, and I like a nice compact charger to stick in my pocket. My older Samsung charger is nice and compact but barely levels out my current Note when it's being used.
Thanks, and sorry for the verbosity!
Sorry!
To summarize, i717 2700 Anker measured against stock, i717 Defender, and one piece tablet chargers.
Edit-there was a post between my two, dunno what happened.

I'm confused? Is the 2700mah Anker battery stock size, or extended? If it's stock, can you link me to amazon, as I'd be willing buy and test it
I'm currently using an extended battery for my Note but it's wearing on me with it's size, and I'd be glad to try other alternatives.

2500 is stock .... 2700 is obviously extended ...it fits like the OEM battery
™
Mine fits perfect, no back cover bump or anything. I really noticed a solid improvement over stock. I still have both batteries but no way to measure them. I stopped using the stock one and, to make up for still only ok battery life, stick it on a charger when I'm at home using it for prolonged periods.
Any update on this battery?

Not from me, sorry! Once I noticed a decent improvement from stock I haven't used stock on either Note, even though the newer one came with two Samsung batteries and I still have the one from the first one.
Where did you guys bought the Anker from? I checked their Amazon site and its over 50 dollars, the rest of phone model batteries are about 15 something but why is note i717 so expensive??
