Hi guys!
I bought a Streak 5 off eBay and it reboots constantly whenever I try using the GPS. It doesn't take it more than a few seconds before it does. At first I thought it would be just a ROM issue, and since I was not using GPS I didn't bother. Now I upgraded to DSC and the problem remains. Could somebody please help?

its just because the dell streak 5 you have does not have the correct baseband flashed....
i had same problem
well in the beginning i dint like my landscape lock-screen so i updated to portrait and after that the navigation keep shutting off and some times if navigation is running then it wont show GPS signal on the stat. bar...so i wiped everything out(factory reset) fix permissions and IT FIXED THE PROBLEM...
BTW i m running 2.3.3 longhorn 2.2v4 ROM....let us kno

This may sound strange... but... I "fixed" it by having the battery removed since I posted the question. It's working without issues *now*.
Could somebody please try to explain what has happened here?

After installing the 2.1 official update from SE, some of you may be in trouble, here some known x10 problems:
[1. HARDWARE ]
1.1 OBSERVATION

- A new motherboard fixes the solution
- Your phone must be send in to a 3rd level center to get the motherboard replaced! (they only replace the motherboard when repaired 3 times)

- the slider sometimes won't unlock by sliding it

Update your handsfree (parrot= piece of cake with bluetooth!)

I've got the same build and mine hasnt been turned off never mind restarted since I updated last Sunday.
I also have same problem, when i update X10 with android 2.1 . after using one day, it is alway restart.
Please give me some details about your build number & country?
So far no problem with my phone after upgrading of 2.1, my phone is upgraded at the service centre.

, wtf, i thought build number was the number of a serie in production...
so how can we find out why some have the problem, & some don't?

Are you sure it's not because of the JIT Hacks ? Because that's definitely unstable.
JIT hacks? It was updated official, twice... & two times tha same problem occurred

Yep. Definitely didn't use the JIT hack.
I do occasionally have this problem. Mainly if I have the phone plugged in while on the phone, doing anything else with the phone while on the phone or sometimes even when I'm not on the phone but the phone is plugged in... it'll just reboot.
Pisses me off seriously. I've formatted this phone many times.. I've formatted the SD Card many times. Its annoying as hell.
I had JIT but reflashed.
In the beginning I believed it was JITs fault but i still have reboots daily.
Abot 2 or 3 of them daily.
And o have FC from gmail storage and gmail app.

Well, that's another 2 back-2-back booting. As soon as the phone was done loading. About to unlock and boom. Crashed and booted.

Hi, the accelerometer is not working on my X10i. I am using this rom:
[ROM][MAY14]BlackEditionHD_1.2[Gingerbread 2.3.4] ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1077375 ) and everything is working perfectly except for the accelerometer. I like this rom alot, it's incredibly fast. I would post on their thread with my issue but I don't have 10 posts, I created this account just to report this problem.
What I've done to attempt to repair:
Turned on 270-degree rotation in "Spare Parts" (came with the rom)
Completely reflashed the rom, twice. Redownloaded for the second time to make sure it wasn't corrupt.
Turned on/off auto rotation under "Display settings"
Tested in browser, launcher, games and anything that would normally work.
Nothing works. It can't be that my accelerometer is broken because it was working perfectly before I flashed this rom, it hasn't even left my table since it was working and when I flashed.
Anyone got any suggestions? Also, could somebody be so kind as to link this thread to the development thread?

Probably is a rom's related problem!! Try to flash an other rom to see if it works!!

Hi ! I've got the same problem with my x10.
For 2 days, the accelerometer was working perfectly on the Achotjan's ROM, the one with the xperia arc theme and with android 2.2.3 (Sorry I'm on my mobile phone so I don't have the link ^^]. At night, I always turn off the auto rotation so it doesn't disturb me when I'm in bed. But this morning, I turned it on, but nothing happened. No 90, 180, or 270 degrees. Even in games, my motorcycle goes straight instead of turning.
Also, one other point is that in this morning, my cell phone rebooted by himself. But I reactivated the autorotation after the reboot.
Could you help me/us ? Thanks
EDIT : Well, it started working by himself I don't know how. So it's okay now. But it would be great to know what's going on with that, in case of a future problem like this ...

I have been having some problems with it on the Cobrato MIUI rom also, haven't bothered looking up the problem though.
I'm using android 2.1. The device suddenly Turn Off, the only way to turn it on is by remove the battery.
After that i upgraded it to android 2.2 using KIES, the same problem still happen.
Need help, Please.
can 't understand your problem please mention more details(it turned off when you are running a specific app. or doing a specific action and when it turns off you mean that never turns on again unless you remove the battery ) and i 'd like to know if your phone is a middle east version because i 'm from Egypt and my phone version like you i5503 and it has no firmware except the 2.1 version and its sucks

While I did not had this issue with stock 2.1.1 ROM, I had it with 2.2 (tested with NEE, XEU & PHB). After putting the battery back in and restarting the phone, my icons and widgets just disappeared from all of my virtual desktops on device. After trying to browse all my installed apps I go the loading beach ball of death. I've waited for half an hour and finally fixed the issue with a factory reset. No it was not the redraw lag... icons just disappeared and refused to appear again no matter how much I waited for them The same thing also happened after my phone self-restared itself without any intervention from my side
It looks like it could be a better idea to stick with the MAD Team releases of FroYo which have some issues fixed. As for me - I switched back to 2.1.1 even it is somewhat limited by features comparing to FroYo. It was maybe some incompatible app that messed up my FroYo, but it is strange that one week after going back to 2.1.1 I had no issue like this even using the same apps. Time will show ;-)

Does anyone ever have issues with the phone/dialer app?
If I try to call someone from contacts, I swipe on their name to the right and nothing happens, if I try again, I notice the contacts app has frozen OR I try to swipe again and nothing happens again. Eventually it might work after 2 or 3 goes.
Then I'll hang up after finally getting it to make the call and the phone immediately tries to make the calls I tried to make earlier... This happens fairly often but not all the time.
OR – (this happens rarely but does happen)
Phone rings, try to swipe the green answer thingo and it just bounces back to where it was, try to swipe/answer again nothing. I can't answer the call. Happened today, really pissed me off. Phone app crashed and refused to make a call after that for about a minute.
Sound familiar to anyone?

Yes I am facing the same issues as you.
A few observations:
problems exist on stock dialer app as well as third party dialer apps
It's an intermittent problem i.e. sometimes the problem shows and other times it does not
I was facing the same problem a couple months ago too, since i was running 2.3.3 so i had just upgraded to 2.3.6 and the problem had disappeared. But out of the blue it has again started now while i am running 2.3.6
Currently i am running on stock rom, cf rooted, latest modem.
Am looking for a permanent solution and will post a solution if i find one, in any case hope the official ICS release (due on the 15th) should solve the problem anyways.
Anyone else facing the same problem?

Usually clearing the cache and calvik cache does not help resolve the issue.
After posting the above post I had just created a ClockWork mod backup and Restored to the same. Dunno how but that resolved the issue, or to be exact, the issue did not surface for a couple days.
Today the issue actually became too much for me to be able to handle.
So I again cleared both cache and dalvik cache and then fixed permissions via CLockWork recovery menu.
Since then I am not facing the issue yet. Hope it works for you too.
(But this is just a preliminary observation and maybe the issue shall resurface with long term use)
p.s. really hoping that the impending ICS update will permanently fix said issue.

i have had an atrix for almost a year now and have had no issues with it. recently i took a big step and decided to get the cm10 rom by th3bill onto my atrix!
all worked fine for a few weeks until about a week ago. i noticed that my lockscreen pattern wasnt entering as normal. the pattern would not connect to the dots i wanted it to. on the main screen if i tap on the central button to get to the menu for my apps it will automatically respond my touch to the right/left icon and take me onto my contacts/sms instead. also while typing certain letters e.g "t" will not be recognised and instead "r" will show up instead.
somehow i managed to remove my pattern lock but the other issues are still present.
i thought that it may be a bug with the rom so i decided to go back to cm7.2 which was running perfectly on the phone thinking that this may be the solution, but even that rom is now giving me the same problem :crying:
can someone please advise me as to what the problem is/what i should do?

I replaced my digitizer and the dead zone changed position.So know that replacing the digitizer might help or might not help...
