nandroid Backup with encrypted tablet? - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

So I am thinking of encrypting my tablet. One thing though that I was wondering is, whether it is possible to do a nandroid backup afterwards.
The problem is that I cannot decrypt the tablet without performing a factory reset (which I don't want to do).
Any experience with that yet?

Mine is encrypted
I encrypted my HTC Flyer with the option in the menu. Encrypting it adds another layer to boot up where you have to put in your password and it decrypts and boots up. I don't know how to do a nan-droid back up other wise I would try.

What kind of back to do before rooting?

I am new to sim card rooting. On my EVO you had to backup the Wimax partition and keys before flashing. UnRevoked method likes to wipe them. Will a android backup be sufficient before wiping and flashing?
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
Well not sure what you mean by "android backup"; do you mean "nandroid" (which you can't do until after rooting) or some other app.
I rooted mine last night and didn't bother with any backup before hand (can't do a very good backup without root anyways).
All I did was make sure that the couple of apps on the phone that I have that DON'T keep their data on the /sdcard by default were exported or synced to their cloud services for them (like my Jefit Pro gym log app).
The other thing that might save you restoring some settings and will make app restore much less painful is to go through the setup app again and say yes to letting Google back up your stuff to the cloud; assuming you didn't do that already.
The current root method takes quite a few steps and reboots, and wipes your phone (but not your sdcard contents). It was a bit more tedious/time-consuming than rooting my Nexus S or prior phones, but with the Nexus S not only do you get your phone's internal memory wiped, but the entire sdcard gets wiped too. I was pleasantly surprised to find mine hadn't been with this process.

Yes I meant Nandroid backup, phone changed it to android. Did the first root method for the evo via ADB and did a nandroid before flashing custom and experimental roms. Apps I am not concerned about because of googles backup process and titanium backup. On Sprints network they had a Wimax partition that held your wimax keys and radio setup. when flashing new roms or even during the initial root process some folks would end up losing their wimax keys and 4g was gone. A Nandroid backup would save the partition and you restore it. You cant do that until you get into Clockwork recovery. Some folks, especially using the Unrevoked method would lose that partition during root and lose wimax/4g connection forever, or until they got a new phone. I am assuming that the LTE access info is stored on the SIM card but want to verify.

System wiped clean by CWM restore! Please help

Last night, I installed TW 4.5/TW Manager. I did a ClockworkMod backup first. I decided to restore it.
However, after restoration, the phone is in a factory state. Save for my lock pattern, which it remembered, the phone is in first-run setup mode, all my home screen layouts are gone, all my apps are not in the aop drawer except those the G2 ships with. Contents of the virtual SD card like photos are still there.
I tried restoring my only other CWM backup (a November backup that previously *restored ok* to undo a MIUI test, for example), but this, too, now boots in to the same state.
What has gone wrong here?
And is there any way of getting back the system that I assume/d is/was in the CWM backup files?
If I can't guarantee I can restore a CWM backup, it makes the world a very scary place to be.

[Q] lost titanium backup encryption passphrase

So I screwed up and lost the passphrase for TB encryption. I have a good working nandroid backup with all the apps+data that I would want to use for my next rom flash. The problem is when I go to TB and disable encryption on my good backup it doesnt allow me to restore the data when I flash a new rom. My question is is there a way to completely remove TB and all of it's app data so that I can start from scratch with TB in order to good unencrypted backups of my apps+data without completely formatting my sd card? Otherwise I'm stuck on my current rom setup.
Thanks!
Does anyone have an idea of what i can do?
i did the exact same think will update you if i find anything

twrp backup&restore encrypted android phone

I learnt at great expenses that twrp has issue with restoring an encrypted backup. The restore happens but the password that was used for the encryption is never recognized.
Is there anyways around this ?

(solved) Locked out of phone after data restore.

Today I reflashed my e7 using LMSA.
I then completed the setup wizard except i didn't enter a password because this was only for the purpose of testing to see if the device worked as it should.
I then proceeded to restore a backup of my data partition using MtkClient.
After this my device boots but does not accept the correct password or my adb authorisation.
I assume this has to do with the decryption keys being different due to the reset done by LMSA.
If someone could point me to the partition that contains the decryption keys I could restore it from a previous backup.
Any help would be appreciated.
Moto e7.
Android 10 File based Encryption.
Edit:
Solved.
All I had to do was set the phone up with the same password as the data backup then restore the data backup and it was able to decrypt.
Hallelujah!
