Is it possible to use a 3G usb stick dongle (modem-sim card data) with my device?
I have a USB (female) to Micro USB and I plugged in the 3G usb dongle into the device, seems like its turn on but how do I use it?
I want to use this stick's data network, is it possible? or else, there is any application that enable this?
Instead of switching between the sim cards, the connecting of this 3g dongle and use its data network will do the job, if there is a way to do that of course.
Thanks!
I don't think it's possible. Best to invest in a 3g wifi modem. I actually use my old S1 for wifi tethering.

I sew its working fine with tablets, maybe it built-in at honeycomb version?

Is there any way of using my rooted GSM Hero as a USB WiFi Adaptor from my PC?
Ie: share my PC's internet over WiFi using the Hero connected via USB so I can wirelessly connect with stuff like my DSi and PSP.
There's an official Nintendo WiFi USB dongle that does this job, so I'm hoping there's also a way for the Hero to do it. I've used the PDAnet app for my Hero for USB tethering that basically is the exact reverse of what I want (it receives WiFi on the hero, shares it to PC).
Anyone know how to do this?
Wireless tether do the trick?search forums for it
Unless it has been written with a great deal of flexibility in mind, I doubt it. While wifi tether will let the OP connect his handheld consoles to his Hero, I suspect they'll be hard coded to forward this traffic over the GSM interface, whereas what I think the OP is after is the ability to forward the traffic over usb to his PC which I assume has a cabled connection to his uni network.
What s/he needs is simultaneous wifi & usb tethering with the abilty to route between the two. I've not come across anyone doing this before, though it's clearly just a matter of having the right software for the job. Not a trivial exercise to write it, alas.
The best chance would probably be if the author of the wifi tether app is still active & would be interested in adding this functionality to their existing app.
I would say you would have to
Use your hero to create Internet connection
Bridge that connection to wireless card in computer

Once of us has misread the OP. I took the OP's PC to have no wifi connection.
[Edit:] Hmm, I could be mistaken; I'm less certain now.

It's only just occurred to me to ask, why don't wifi routers work? Is it a matter of rules & regulations? Otherwise I'm somewhat confused.
If it is simply a matter that the only equipment you're allowed to connect directly to the network is a PC you register with the sys admins, I'd be inclined to stick a second network card in the PC (assuming your uni connection is via the primary ethernet port) & use this to connect to your (existing?) wifi router which you use purely as a wifi access point. That'd cost you less than a fiver, assuming you already have a wifi router or access point.
I would stick to the rules however. Unless you're sure you know what you're doing they might spot attempts to connect disallowed equipment from the resulting traffic.
you can use the hero as a wifi dongle?im using it now with internet sharing on and just connected to wifi?
Just a quick question:
Is there a way to attach a 3g USB stick to a wifi only tablet?
(No tethering with Mobile Phone or something else, really a 3g USB stick)

This has been asked before.
Quick answer: probably not, as the drivers aren't likely to be installed. It's not hard to try, as all you need is an OTG cable, which is fairly cheap. But I'd give it a very low chance of working.
Does anyone know if it is possible to use Galaxy Note 2 as a wired modem?
I know about wifi tethering and I don't want that.
I know about PDAnet type wares that allow usb tethering to a PC. I don't want that either.
I would like to convert the the usb tethering output of the the Note 2 into Ethernet and be able to plug it into any wireless router.
OR
Maybe there is someway to use a wireless router (DD-WRT based) with a usb port that could be configured as wan that would accept usb tethering from Note 2?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
I dont think this would be possible unless you somehow rigged a cable to go from your phone usb on one end to a ethernet port on the other that could transfer internet without a third part program I have a dual band router with a usb port but it seem to only work for like hdds or printers

Maybe I'm missing something, but why not just use the mobile Hotspot to connect to.
Is there a reason it has to be a wired connection? If you must have to have it connected to a router couldn't you just set a router up with dd-wrt and have it set in repeater mode to rebroadcast the hotspot signal.

My phone (onepluse2) got liquid damage and I am unable to the wifi (wifi is not working). Please suggest me if there is any external device available in the market to get wifi to my phone.
Thank you
There are USB WiFi antennas for the PC. Maybe it would work if you connect it to the phone with an OTG cable.
use tplink wifi adapter/y card
itll cost around 500
and also u can use it for penetration and cracking wifis
Hi to all.
Did anyone tried ethernet tethering maybe?
If someone can, could you please try:
1. Ethernet tethering via adapter
2. Ethernet tethering with power delivery (charging).
I have an option to buy used with damages for low money and i need a good SIM "router". I dont bother with battery ATM, there is a solution to remove battery.
Thank you all
A little late but here's my experience. You can Ethernet tether internet from your phone to your pc using usb (whether it's from wifi or 4G) but I was only able to do this from the official MIUI ROM. Any other custom ROM failed this for me.
