Front Facing Camera Vertical Banding in Image. - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

I received my flyer last week. everything works fine, but the image from Front Face camera has vertical banding in it. It's almost like vertical lines across the image and the quality is pretty bad, back camera is fine. Is anybody else having this issue.... Did i get a bad unit ? or is this how the front facing camera quality is ?....Please advice .....

Mine does the same thing.

Have you tried the camera in good lighting? See if it may be a factor.

You might wanna send it back if you're within the 60 days. I just tested mine in my office and the ffc works great. No lines, issues or anything. Everything is reversed, but I think that's been my common experience.

Tested it in my office at work under the fluorescent lighting. It is very bright in there and didn't see the lines this time. Still some fuzzyness but nothing unusual for a 1.3mp camera.

FFC issues.

So I bought the ffc and installed it but I'm getting multi colored lines across the screen for the back camera and the front is way fuzzy. Any tips/ideas for this? I'm running passion v11, let me know, thanks!

Lol, yeah you got a 1st generation camera and that's going to happen with the lines unless you get a gen 2 camera. As far as the fuzziness, I'm gonna guess you didn't focus the super tiny ring on the outside of it? Not laughing at you, just the sutuation.
Dam you gotta be kidding. So I'm screwed here or what?

The lines should only occur in dark settings. I have a rev 1 from awhile ago I'm OK with it. Not like i Skype in the dark.

Well the lines only seam to occur in the viewfinder. When I take the picture, they're either gone or nearly completely invisible. So for 20 bucks this turned out to be a good deal

Yeah the lines are harder to see in the actual picture but it can be annoying when taking pictures in darker settings. As for the focus on the front cam, it's a little hard cause you need to have the camera plugged in to see when it is actually in focus. I just used some tweesers and angled the camera towards me a little so I could still see on the screen what the cam was pointing at and focused it that way. It's still a good setup for the average user, so $20 isn't a loss.

Yeah the tweezers is what I used! It looks decently focused for the most part, I used it for Skype last night and it seemed to be better quality video than my Toshiba net book!

EVO camera

My LTE camera does not seem on par with wut videos I have seen. My photos come out ok and video r not all that good, probably a defect? Or is that normal?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
not normal at all, my videos have all came out great so far. just to make sure check that its on highest quality, nothing is smudging the lence, and that you dont have super shaky hands. all settings to default
I have a similar experience. I am considering going into a sprint store to see a side by side comparison. I played with a One X and was very impressed with the camera, mine doesn't seem up to par with the One X.

If they're not this good, I'd take it back

thats one dirty picture...
here is a picture i took yesterday. the picture is so clear you can see the water droplets almost perfectly in the air.
Yup did all that and still the same experience. Im gonna take it to best buy and see wut is up.

For the most part they come out jus like that, crystal clear. But the video seems off, while recording video my camera focuses during the video and it messes the video up some wut

Evo lte camera problems

I think my evo ltes camera might be broken. Does anybody else have trouble getting pics to come out clear. Mine seems out of focus. Im waiting to replace it due to my otterbox screen protector. I dont want to dail in settings everytime i take a picture either. Ive read hundreds of reviews and its suppose to be a very good camera.

This is how almost all of my pics come out. Not just a one time deal.

Are you tapping the sceen to focus?Mine come out clear..
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Yes and no. I have taken hundreds of pics. Sometimes i hold the button down and take 20 bad pics in a row. Im leaning towards a hardware problem.

I've got this too, after flashing a jelly bean ROM. I'm going to try flashing a different jb ROM and see if the camera improves. And probably go back to ics if it doesn't.

Camera is now clear, just flashed a different jelly bean rom.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Are you running stock Rom or a port?
Ports such as cm10, miui, skip, etc do not take good pictures due to pack of proper drivers

Edit: nvm
Im unrooted stock...

I you power off your phone then remove the plastic back cover and clean the camera glass lense. It might have dirt, finger prints/ smudge on to it which causes your phone not to auto-focus when taking pictures.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I took it to sprint and they cleaned it. I also hard reset it 2x. I think it might be back to normal now.

I seem to only have an issue if I zoom in on something. If I don't zoom, they look fine.
Thats because zooming a digital camera does nothing, you're better off just taking a full picture.

If I have just regular stock, I've only had it a week, and I don't know how to root or flash a rom or any of that stuff to a phone. So am I just out of luck, or Is there any way to fix these issues? I see that one person said they did a hardreset x2, but if I haven't done anything to the phone I'm guessing a reset wouldn't help me either?
I'm soooo disappointed, the camera is about 80% of the reason I upgraded to this pone. But my regular evo took better pictures very easily. I really wish I knew how to do all the stuff people talk about on these sites, but I'm just clueless when it comes to that.
If anyone has a suggestions I would be really grateful.

I can tell you guys that, unfortunately, I am 99% sure its a hardware issue...I've researched this relentlessly after I purchased my basically brand spanking new EvoLTE (less than 20 calls on it, but it already had a bad esn, relationship gone bad lol I guess)..I got it off craigslist..guy had the receipt..box, everything and when I ##786#'d it I confirmed everything he was telling me. I checked everything, one by one..speaker, mic, outside speaker, ports, bootloader, powered on off, finally the camera..pics and vids...everything worked perfectly.....I thought, I never thought to check the auto focus. Once I got home with it(I often take pics of text on the computer screen while working) I went to do this and to my shock the camera wouldn't focus in on text..Or anything that was within 4inches of the camera..I did four or five hard resets, searched endlessly for a reason or fix..tried every non stock app camera in the market..Nothing fixed it, and It still does it to this day.
I worked with at least ten EvoLTE's since then, I always check the auto focus on them (lol glutton for punishment I guess) because every one of them works perfectly. Yet you can find lots of people with auto focus issues on the web. I also have updated Roms, on mine (I'm currently back on ICS) nothing effected it, and the ones Ive seen that have worked perfectly were on ICS, JB, custom roms..no rhyme or reason, which is why I have to believe it's some kind of hardware issue with the auto focus on these cameras. Luckily, for me it only effects super up close photos(completely blurred), while any other photo comes out perfectly. I would of all ready replaced it otherwise.

Strange glow in pictures?

Just curious, the pictures I take with my one x+ are incredible, no doubt, but whenever I use flash in low light it produces a strange glow on most surfaces, is that normal for most cameras? and I know the hox+ doesn't have the best low light ability... Anyone else see this?
Oh and also, anyone know what's up with 1080p video? It's at like 15 fps!
Thanks!
Sent from my HTC One X+
Same with me...but mine the problem is with my case..just try open the case and shoot...see if the problem still exist
If the problem same...change the case...or you can make bigger whole for camera

HTC m8 exposure problems

Hey do you guys think HTC will eventually update the camera to fix its red I cultus exposure problems? In daylight, it overexposes and in low light it underexposes. This is my only real problem with the camera( aside from res)
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using xda app-developers app
Enough complaints should do the trick, every review you read online clearly states it. Let's hope so..
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using xda app-developers app
Exposure does suck. HTC, you reading this?

Example shots? Just curious I dont see it in the daylight or dusk photo's
Found this but I always tap to focus in pics and usually they come out really nice...
