Hey!
I want to unlock my bootloader, because i want custom kernel, so i started too google for it, and i found this forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1303960 i want to try unofficial unlocking way, because it looks easy.
But there isnt tutorial for it.
Or its soooo easy, that i need connect wire like that and my bootloader will unlock?
Help me, iam really confused.
And another question..
I need latest firmware for my phone uploaded in european server, because from china or japan server downloading very very very slow.
Oww i forgot to tell that i need european firmware.

Really? No tutorial? You have link in that very same thread you posted! Check where it says "Unofficial Unlocking Method"
And if that's not enough, you have sticky thread! which have instructions in second post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409269

It is easy, but you need to be careful! You need to follow steps exactly.

Please search before open a new thread. There is a chat thread here where you can also have quick chat if you wish to. Best regards,

[Q] Confusion Prevails..need a bit of clarification

I am not a noob..have played alott with HTC and samsung phones...but sony seems to b a different ball game all together..i hv been reading threads since the last two days to unlock the bl of my neo v..and flash roms and stuff...
but there are a couple of qstns that are bothering me...
1-I wanted to install KA20.1 Ics rom..since its official stripped down ics... but it needs unlocked bootloader. i am currently running gb..2.3.4 .62...
first i though of rooting and using gb as it is.. but now since ics is here i am inclined to use ics
so here is my question..
If i unlock my bootloader..and then flash official ics using flashtool..will the bootloader get locked again?? will it create any kind of issue for me with regard to using flashtool and flashing official ics?? if yes then what..
will it have to b unlocked again???
and the next question
Everything remains the same in case of jj hybrid rom also??
but i wud appreciate all the help i can get ..cz whatever i learn i always give it back to the forum..
xda rocks..
cheers...

No.
Though not sure what you meant by "flashing official ics". If you meant with flashtool, then answer is still no.
If you meant on using PCC or SEUS then answer depends how you unlock your BL. IF you unlock it unofficial way, with s1tool, then you won't have any problem. If you unlock it via IMEI code from Sony developer page, then you won't be able to use PCC or SEUS until you relock your BL(which is done by flashing 1 ftf file).
And for both official and unofficial way worth rule, do not use OTA updates. For official way, that's 100% correct, while for unofficial way, some report problems, some don't have them.

You mean 2 -ve battery pins? Yeah, only connect to 1, it's enough. Or you can also connect it to simcard holder, as I read, people also do that. Point is to ground it, whatever method you want

You're not irritating. Usually I would irritate if someone asks without researching, but as I see you actually research yourself, so it's not hard to answer you
Anyway, for root and CWM, check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678690

I don't like OTA, and after you unlock your BL it will be smart not to use it, as we told above.
And if you unlock your BL it's much easier to root it, as I wrote, check that thread I linked in this post and try.

A little help with my Xperia Sola...

I've decided to root my phone... as far as I know I won't lose my warranty If I'll be rooted right?
So All I want is just root permissions... NO custom ROMS or Kernels.
I am using GB stock 6.0.B.3.184 firmware android 2.3.7
So Do I need to unlock my bootloader to root? Or I can proceed without doing that?
And could someone provide me with link how to root Xperia Sola with GB stock firmware?
Thank's
Please... I have looked everywhere.
Also found sources where people are searching for a way to root phone without upgrading to ICS with no luck.

You can root without unlocking your bootloader. Bootloader need to be unlocked only if you want to flash custom kernels or roms like cm9,cm10, miui etc.
You can try this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
Confirmed on the first post that works on sola also. Hope works with gb also

Thanks
zmeu27, your suggested method looks too complicated and I don t want to lose my warranty. Thanks anyway.

My bad mate. Try this one : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849030.
Hope this works. I don't use gb and can't tell you for sure which is the best choice, i am looking in various threads to find the best way.

Thanks for your effort, I appreciate that
This one says It needs fastboot, so do I really need to unlock bootloader?
How hard is it..? To unlock bootloader, As far as I know it can be done at Sony homepage, Whats the advantage of unlocking it and do it has any cons... already know that it means lost wariaty, and that's a risk.
And finally can bootloader be locked again? To make everything as it used to be?

It is recommended that you unlock the bootloader, Sony actually allows it and it can be done here: http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/48798

I prefer to keep my DRM keys and bravia engine. I do not recommended unlocking it as it is usually the cause of hard brick if you do not follow certain steps correctly.

I'll come over to your house and we'll get it rooted. Just joking and I must say there is a lot of outdated info even in the stickies. It took me a lot longer than it should to figure out what was currently correct.
