[Q] AT&T vs regular - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi im new to this flashing and roms.
So my question i simple, can you install at&t roms on a regular samsung galaxy s2?
Best regards
//TS

No, you flash roms based on the model number. So you cannot flash a i9100G ROM onto an i9100, and you cannot flash an i777 AT&T ROM onto a regular i9100. You will end up losing home button function if you do and can't get back into download mode without a USB jig.

oops i posted it wrong. Will change thread.

If the AT&T is an i9100, yes...but I don't think it is.
Not a good idea.

[Q] Compatible ROM

Hey guys,
I'm from Israel and I've decided to ditch my current mobile carrier (Orange/Partner).
I usually prefer to stick to the official stock ROM so, naturally, I plan to flash my GT-I9100 device with the ROM of my soon-to-be carrier (HOT Mobile).
Thing is... The official ROM bears the "GT-I9100T" model and I'm not sure if it will work or it might brick my phone.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot!

Thanks for replying.
My phone is not locked by my carrier. I purchased it from a private store. It simply has the official carrier ROM installed.
I plan to replace my carrier and install the new carrier's official ROM.
The only problem is that this ROM is intended for the I9100T, while I have the I9100.
I'm just wondering if anything can go wrong while flashing?

There is a slight difference between the 9100 and 9100T. Not in hardware, but software. The specific T modems are generally more tuned to the 850MHz band than others due to different SAR levels. The firmware for i9100T are not compatible with i9100 .

OK. So I should flash my phone using the official ROM and then flash it with a compatible firmware?

[Q] DiliDroid Rom on i777

I flashed dilidroid from on my i777..
Since the from was meant for i1900 The home key and search key doesnt work..
Can anyone tell me a solution for this??
Flash a ROM meant for your model of phone, instead of one for the i9100. (there is no phone such as an i1900)
You should probably go to the i777 forum, as this post is currently in the i9100 forum.

First of all: it's 'rooted', not 'rotted'
Some roms come with a new modem, so if you want to change it, you can flash it through Recovery. Some others don't, but you can check it of course in Settings -> About phone.
About your request for a JB rom: even if you're from NZ, you still have to try them for yourself to see which rom perfectly matches your preferences.

[Q] help... bricked it?

Hi all
I've had a custom root and rom on my s2
I've since reset and odined a new rom into it that didn't seem to work (boot looped) so I installed what I thought was a stock one vod uk)
Anyway, this hasn't worked as it now gets stuck booting on the s2 screen
Not sure what to do... my root (0yellow triangle) has disappeared so I can't install a custom rom and I don't know the csc (or whatever it It is) as I'm guessing the stock rom I put on was not exactly the same as the one that came on it originally?
Bit confused how I get it back now
Thanks

To help you out more information is needed - exact phone type, what was your previous ROM, what ROM you flashed, etc..
Can you go to Download Mode? (home + power + volume down)
If you can, download the right ROM and flash it with Odin.

Still unclear what is your phone model. Is it I9100, I9100G or even HD LTE?
According to this you must choose a proper ROM for your device. If it`s wrong you will get soft brick.

It must be written on your first boot screen, lowest line - on mine I have I9100.
Its even written on a big sticker under the battery.

Hi
It's gt i9100
Can you point me in the direction of a rom that will work? Do I need to find a way of clearing the cache as well or should a simple reinstall fix it?
Thank you
Go to sammobile and get a stock rom from there......fill in the 4 boxes to pinpoint which ones you can try.Avoid the 4.0.4 one lol.
Then read tutorial about using odin properly on here.

You can check out sammobile.com and download the specific firmware for S3 and your carrier. You also need to download ODIN.
