Well it's galaxy sii in general. Not sure if tmobile will be getting it that day.

When I bought my Amaze I already knew that Sense is a heavy on the system and WILL require extra time to code around to make ICS work with it. I knew that in order for HTC to come out with ICS and Sense at the same time.... It would take a while.... because sense IS connected with the hardware as well....
But I am so jealous....
BUT I DO KNOW ONE THING....
ICS with Sense would look better than with touchwiz.... Touchwiz = bland and boring.... so HA! I'll be laughing in the end when our version will be more stable!!!
HA HA HA!

I'm not much of a fan of sense roms. Not sure why- I don't find them exremely appealing. The Widgets are annoyingly big in my opinion.I like aosp better. But hey I'll take a look at ics with sense! Are we getting sense 4.0 or what?

Ocak 2012 translate to January 2012, and the other column says "approved" AFAICT.
EDIT: Maybe this is only carrier approval or something? Because the EVO 3D date appears to be in the past.
Idk but this means one thing.... More roms!!!!

Will be very awesome if true . Btw, we can expect to get Sense 4.0 with ICS on HTC Amaze when update does come around, correct?
I dont believe this. According to the chart, the EVO 3D was supposed to get ICS in 2011, didnt happen, therefore, the chart and the article is incorrect.

Wonder if with ics we would be able to delete bloatware apps and if the phone will be a bit smoother and faster. Its fine so far but sometimes it lags.

i don't know about if this news is believable or not, but regardless i'm still iffy if i want this update/what it will be like. i've had a bunch of different phones and roms, from vanilla to sense to touchwhiz and other various custom skins as many of you all mostlikely have. but at the end of the day, i really like sense. I've played with ICS and idk if i really like it vs sense. I'm really curious to if/how htc may skin ics with subtle sense features. I mean i think we can all agree that htc's widgets are amazing vs whats out there and i use many of them all the time. i'd sure hate to sacrifice them just to have the newest android os. how do you guys feel about if ics for amaze being skinned with some form of sense vs plain ics?

As far as I know the reason there is no CM7 support for the Amaze, is because CM9 is relatively close to release and it will support the Amaze.
Honestly, I don't see why cm7 would be made for this phone I mean ics and cm9 are just around the corner

Shouldn't we do something about not getting sense 4

Just my opinion so don't burn me for it but I don't think we should just be okay with getting ripped and only getting sense 3.6 and them releasing sense 4 just a few months after our phone even though ics was already out when our phones were released and sense 4 in the works and I'm pretty sure if we were to all put our thoughts about it on the HTC facebook page we might be able to stirr this up and maybe actually get somewhere. Who's with me?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA
Who knows if it'd work but doesn't hurt to try.
Couldn't hurt to try that's for sure. But I'm pretty sure we'll still be seeing 3.6 for the upcoming OTA. I also wonder if they have future plans to officially update the Rezound to 4.0.
hey don't assault their facebook...
calm down
Newtoroot has just about finished sense 4.0 - actually i think he has
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501512
read the whole post it's there ....
the Vigor is awesome
(rezound)
I agree it wouldn't hurt to try but if VZW/HTC really hold their promise of providing Rezound users with ICS, there is nothing we should have an issue with. I am happy we're getting ICS period to be honest.
Stock ICS over Sense 4.0 would be really nice but since it likely won't happen I'll keep supporting our Devs to bring us the latest and greatest.
Us not getting Sense 4 officially is just one reason why to be thankful for devs.
What does sense 4 have that 3.6 doesn't that we can take advantage of? We don't have the new camera with image sense and beats integration apparently is more than a software setting. We have the customizable dock so what else is there?
Sent from my Rezound using Tapatalk
The reason the Rezound won't get Sense 4.0 is that there are features in 4.0 that are specific to the hardware in the HTC One Series devices. Because of the differences between those devices and all other handsets preceding them a redesign of Sense was necessary. HTC isn't trying to screw anyone here and VZW had no decision in this matter. A petition won't do any good. We haven't even seen a changelog for Sense 3.6 yet or a side by side comparison of 4.0 so it's a bit premature to be upset that the Rezound won't get 4.0.
I don't care whether we get it or not but apparently a lot of others do.
I really don't care if we get it or not because our devs will eventually prefect it anyways.

the reason people want sense 4 is because apparnelty HTC streamlined sense and got rid of a lot of the bloat that made the phones bogged down because of the UI.

That is a pretty good reason if you ask me. Probably would really help out the battery life too. I've easily doubled my battery life since tossing most of Sense 3.5 out.
Anyways, to answer the OP's question: YES. If you want Sense 4.0 officially because you're not willing to root and flash a ROM, then of course you should try to do something about it. The ONLY reason we arent getting Sense 4 is because they are leaving it exclusive to their upcoming devices, so they can use it as a selling point. If you don't think thats fair, you SHOULD say something. Don't expect anybody to listen... but you never know.
Was it just coincidence that HTC silently allowed Rezound on HTC Dev Unlock just a week or so after the petition was started? Maybe, but it could just as easily have been BECAUSE of the petition. I say there is no reason not to give it a shot.

it's not because of hardware. The rezound is capable of running sense 4. The one V will be running sense 4 and has significantly lower specs than the rezound.

As someone said already, it's just being used as a selling point for the One series.
The Rezound has already been shunned by Verizon and probably HTC after the ICS update.
I'm fairly confident we'll never see Sense 4 officially.

I think there is some different hardware in those phones for the camera options they put in it. But they could definitely make a variation of sense 4 for us but they probably won't.

Sense 3.6 v. 4.0

I'm using the leaked ICS rom with Sense 3.6. It's great. And I just read an article comparing Sense 3.6 and 4.0. Am I missing something? Other than a few changes, is there really a reason for everyone to be so upset that we (probably) aren't 4.0? Or is it just the principle of the matter? Either way, I am completely happy with 3.6 and the improvements brought by ICS alone.
I'm sorry to say there's no "probably" involved here. The Rezound will not get Sense 4.0 in any official manner because Sense 4.0 "is built to take advantage of the hardware in the One Series handsets and beyond".
I'm a card-carrying Sense hater, but I'm pretty impressed by 4.0. It's been redesigned, and even Newt's beta ROM runs better than 3.6. If this is the future of Sense, then I'll take back what I've said about Sense in the past.
Yea I haven't tried Newt's rom yet bc I just got my Rezound yesterday and am content with the ICS leak until exams are over. FYI, Newt released RC1 today for that rom. The leak is performing pretty well tho, for me at least.
sense 4 will be great once our devs have 100% ironed out all of the bugs..but until then, it's kinda buggy and worse off than 3.6. but i'm pumped for when they're able to fully develop it
I think one of hte biggest advantage with the 4 is its light weight and better integration with ICS. 3.6 seems to still retain some looks and feel of the current version of sense so it still weighed down a little bit in terms of performnace. 4 seems to help with the performance better as there's less overhead needed.

I too run Sense 4 and obviously it has a few issues but so did Sense 3.6 when I first had it installed on the Rezound. I remember on my Thunderbolt running Sense 3.5 Based Roms and they had issues but the awesome developers here always seem to iron out the wrinkles. Honestly the only real issue currently is the Bluetooth only connecting to media. I'm on RezRom S4 1.0.1 right now and it has been the smoothest running of the Sense 4 Roms for me to date!

This Sense 4.0 on ICS made me fall back in love with my EVO!

Just wanted to tell those who may be reluctant to try a different rom, its worth the work.

I was running it today and it was pretty good, I'm looking forward to warm four dot zero. 3.6 has amazing battery life and sense 4 has fluidity and a new taste. I'm not a fan of 3.0 with ics, but that battery life is amazing. I got about 10 hours before I got to 10% and I'm a pretty heavy user (a lot of Facebook and Voxer over 3g). Usually my phone would last 8 or 7 hours before it died.

The Nexus is ok at best, I've tried it and can honestly say that the SII, 3D, and even Note feel more comfortable for usability. Sure, the stock ICS is fluid and is designed around the capabilities of the Nexus, but in the end, you're still playing with a black banana phone with a goofy curved screen.
Sense 4.0 is a huge change over 3.6. If you haven't tried newts Rom do it. 3d and 4g aren't working but you really won't miss them. Although I am surprised that no one has ported the EVO 4g LTE Rom to our device yet. It would be nice to have a full cmda sense 4.0 Rom.

Simple: Sense 4 wins over TW. But, removable battery and sdcard slot win over the one x's non removable battery and no slot.
If sense can be ported, it'd be win win..since you cant exactly mod a onex to have the battery + sdcard capabilities.
I'm using sense right now and its terrible compared to touchwiz. Just more give it a little time it will grow on you and it will be way more functional than sense.

Tbh I think a good clean aosp build would be better, the Samsung firmware right now is based on IMM76D, aosp is on IMM76L and contains some of the linaro optimisations and we could do with that. Its the latest code available.
Sense would be nice but a nice clean unbloated aosp rom would be my main priority.
Sense= bloated but nice theme/colors
Like it more then aosp, doubt sense would run good but I would try it just for fun

I would like to se Sense on the S3 to.
I always had HTC Phones before and this year I bought the S3, my first Samsung.
The first thing I noted with Touchwiz was, that I canĀ“t make Shortcuts to
Direct Dial, Direct Message, etc.
That was so easy with my Sense 3,5.
Maybe I just dont know how to use Touchwis.. But I prefer Sense.
