Is there a way I can keep all the aspects of sense except the dock and home screens? I'm running Thunderstick 3D which I LOVE! I was running CM7 with Go Launcher and I guess the ability to add home screens and the multiple docks spoiled me. Is there a ROM out that is like this or a MOD? Or any type of trick I can use to easily tweak this?
You can install any alternate home launcher or dock on any sense rom. Just download and install from the market.

I want to replace the sense dock at the bottom of the screen, all I see are replacements for launcher docks or pop-up docks....
Oh, i see. Have you checked the mods section? Might be something in there.

Try launcher pro

Launcher Pro will replace all the sense stuff...right? I've looked in MODs and have only found different looking versions of the sense app docks. They all still have just the three "buttons".

Absolutely not. Its a vital part of the framework. Just install Launcher Pro over it, and when you hit the Home button, select it as the default launcher.

HERE is a mod that a dev made that does this. You can then use whichever launcher you want. It works well.

Thanks mate, perfect, will give it a go
Would doing this mod essentially make the phone faster?
Edit: just tried it and didn't really make much of a difference in speed for me. It wasn't noticeable atleast. It seems to just remove sense as a launcher but everything sense is still intact. If you want comeplete senseless your best bet is any asop rom like miui or cm7 alpha.
Removing Sense is highly inadvisable. And a launcher is pretty much just a skin, so sense will still run. Not 100% about this, but uninstalling sense MAY mess with your ability to recover back to it should you choose to unroot. Definitely take the advice above, and try flashing an aosp ROM. They are much quicker anyway
Thanks for your advise guys, unfortunately I am gsm, so as far as I know, there is no aosp ROM available yet, ill just stick with it for now until. IM just used to cyanogenmod with other devices, IM sure our day will come for the gsm guys! Just find sense, abit bulky, and sluggish at times. Also everything that sense provides can be found in apps, on the market (beautiful widgets, widget locker......) cheers

this is untrue. you cannot remove sense totally, however, you can remove many many many of the components associated with it without much problem at all. this also does not affect returning to stock in any way whatsoever.

This also has the issue where you have to unlock to answer a call. I guess if it were a tablet but being it's a phone that would annoy me having to do that every time get a call.

Besides BeastMOD, is there a way I can download a Sense ROM and use a script that will get rid of Sense completely and give an AOSP feel?

I just found it easier to download launcherpro or adw and do it that way. Not entirely sure though for a complete answer.

I don't really want to add more apps and slow the phone down, I would rather delete Sense altogether.

It's very much built into the rom. And with the amaze 4g's dual core 1.5 processor, adw or launcherpro isn't going to slow down the phone at all.

Once I used rom toolbox to get rid of all the sense feel. Use their app manager feature to uninstall all the sense you dont want

Use Senceless from ROM Development section. It doesn't have Rosie, htc facebook, htc twitter, widgets and a lot of other stuff is removed. It comes with Zeam launcher, but you can download another one and then uninstall Zeam.
I'm running it now, after restoring a few sense apps from Quiksense by using AppExtractor, and it's running great. It's no AOSP, but it's a super slimmed down version of sense.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I could not find anything. Why do Apex and Nova run so slow and laggy on the Rezound? Is there any way to fix this at all?? I really don't like sense, and I was hoping to just be able to replace the homescreen, but apex and nova are pretty much unusable. Thanks for any and all help!
I'm not really sure what the problem is but one thing that helped me a fair amount is flashing the Adreno ICS drivers through recovery, smoothed things up somewhat. But even after doing that there is still some choppines to the launchers and I'm not sure why.

It's but awhile since I rooted and put a rom on a HTC device. Is there a one lick root method, also do I need S-Off? I would like to get this all smoothed out, so I don't have to sell or trade this thing.
launchers not properly configured will cause lag too. no problems on apex or nova. all roms are great. sounds like user error

Apex user here..smooth as butter, especially with the animations sped up. Like any launcher, it does need to work itself into your memory to smooth out its performance, so initial performance after boot tends to be slightly choppy and then my lag goes away after some usage.

a lot of the times, the sense UI is still running behind the third party launcher. Best thing to do is when you find a ui you like. delete rosie.apk. downside you will loose the sense widgets and lockscreen. if you go this route, it be best to try an AOSP rom.

ok so to unlock you go to http://htcdev.com/ and look for the rezound unlock.
they have a complete guide on how to do it with pictures.
after that is done you will need to load a custom recovery, amon ra 3.15 is great.
after that you just flash a rom of your choice.

Do you have to root after you install amon ra?
I use ADW EX on ICS. Its neither slow, nor buggy.
Unfortunately, ADW doesn't work on JB, which means I'm going to have to find a new launcher soon once we get AOSP JB ports working.

You can also run a de-Sensed ROM like NeoMax or Ineff Deus. Ineff Deus isn't advertised as de-Sensed but you can during the install process. Both are extremely solid ROMs.
De-Sensed Ineff Deus with Nova Prime is my daily driver and its very smooth.

Once you unlock and load up a custom recovery (amon ra), you can go one of two ways: root the stock rom manually. Or the recommended method: install a ROM with root already installed.
There are some stock ROMs with root, or if you're going for performance, you'll want to find a good custom rom. Check out the development forum for one you might like to try. You'll want to S-Off, it's not required but it will make rom flashing significantly less complicated. (it seems intimidating, but it's actually pretty easy.)
If you need some help, there's a thread here with some guys who are exceedingly helpful. It's uhhhm... Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1872651

Hi, i really dont like stock lock and widgetlocker acting weird for me. So im wondering if on this phone you can make the trick (like on ie: Huawei phones), where you disable huawei lock in apps, go to setting and set locker to huawei lock (previously disabled), simple restart and boom stock android lock.
Thnx for info

I remember from my days on ICS Sense that if you rooted your device, and uninstalled HTC Lock Screen (in Apps in Settings) I was left with ICS stock lockscreen (done with a root uninstaller from the Play Store).
Now I'm running ckpv5's myONEdx JB there's a 'No lock screen' feature, so I have Holo Locker instead. I'm not sure if the uninstalling works on JB though, am yet to try.

I think its called rosie
I have made a custom rom without lockscreen and rosie.apk, but now i'm at work.
I will flash it sunday and report
This was difficultly as i think.
To remove rosie.apk is a very bad idea, after boot is the screen only black and you have the panel on top (with dropdown).
So i had a rom with vanilla android lockscreen and a black homescreen

Want to stick at the stock ROM (for now). How can I remove the system write protection resp. is that possible with the stock ROM?
I saw that Titanium Backup offers a method for removing system apps by using a 'Recovery Exploit' (exploit discovered by Paul O'Brien)...
---------- Post added at 02:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:43 PM ----------
Finally I was successful: renamed (added '.bak') both apk and odex file extions with TWRP.
Thanks!
