I am posting this in here just to start discussion on the Beats audio mod ported to all devices by fuss132.
I don't take any credit for this.
What it does:
1.It really improves the sound quality.
2.If you like bass this is perfect as it gives balanced sound and bass.
3.The sound is clearer than before.
4.Effective for headphones than speaker.
How to flash:
Just download the attached zip and flash through CWM.
CREDITS

sorry for the noob question mate but what is LVH?? & i have seen someone reporting that after they uninstall this mod...the equalizer in the xperia s player stops working....did that happen to anyone else?? just wanna make sure....dont wanna spoil a good thing
LVH.apk = Louder Volume Hack - you will find it in market, my version is 5.0

If you want you can backup before applying the mod so that you can revert just incase.
My suggestion , use either this or xperia S music apps full set .
When i install both , the bass is like over and it might destroy your speaker .
Xperia arc speaker doesnt have rich bass therefore its not recommend to push its limit with software method .
Its sound already clean and loud anyway .

Try using both with headphones!
Who knows you may get the ultimate result!
And ya this makes the sound crisp and clearer.

Well... Downloaded, installed. And I dont feel better sound quality.
I tested it on my Arc S .62 with DoomKernel using Power Amp.
Maybe I should use Xperia S Player?
Useless i tried with my beats pro after installing this mod no improvments and my coison have arc also locked bootloader official firmware the output volumn and bass id samee ......

Get your phone rooted, then install cwm from which you can flash the .zip file onto your device
As for beats audio, using PowerAMP there seems to be no difference but I do hear better sound when using stock player, like bassier but it might just be a placebo effect, I will test it against the neo tomorrow and report back.
why should you get root for this?
you can just hotboot doomkernel (requires open bootloader) and then start into recovery.
does not need any previous changes to the system. no kernel flash, no root

I found in another forum a couple of files which allow us to add MegaBass, one of the most beloved features of Sony Ericsson's W(alkman) phone series. I bundled them in an update.zip to be flashed with Clockwork Mod, and given that they work in all Xperia phones, I've decided to spread them around

Experiafan13, if this works in your GXV12, then we could disable DSP, may be it can further enhance the battery life! I find that X8 just lack the bass power, if this app could improve on the bass, then we don;t need DSP.
I Just updated it, but guys, how do you know it works? I didn't notice any addition app nor controls for this module.

i'm not sure, I think it makes the bass deeper, but with things like these u never know if it's a placebo effect or if something really changed.
it sure as hell doesnt make it any worse, so u should just install it.

i prefer to listen Pendulum on my sound system, using my computer, and the computer players have equalizer, all of the popular ones
and i have also a hi-fi with equalizer, it really rocks! i can break some windows with my hi-fi

my walls vibrate a lot but they don't break, for God sake! But I've breaked a lot of cups in the first times I've used my Hi-Fi, my mother was very angry with me -.- she doesn't know how to appreciate some good music, f*ck the cups
My hi-fi is kinda old, but is like new. I only have 2 Woofers and 1 Midrange broken (wile changing home they accidently broke ), but i have 6 Speakers so i'm using the 4 that are good.
BTW, Can you break one wall with your 5.1 audio system and record it with your lovely X8?

The original .zip file was fine, apart from the update-binary. This is unique to every phone model, it seems. I just overwrote it with one from a working Mini update.zip and that was it.

Can you make flashed zips to restore?
FIX: Status 0 error during clockwork mod flash.
1. open the .zip file of the current Gingerbread ROM you are using and navigate to the:
META-INF/com/google/android/update-binary file
inside the Rom file and drag and drop it onto your desktop.
2. Put this file in the zip containing the "BEATS" Mod (should be placed here:META-INF/com/google/android/*here*) (overwrite existing file)
3. Flash your modified zip.
It doesn't have to be a GB rom that the update-binary comes from. Any update.zip that works on the phone will do just fine.

You can make almost the same using DSP manager you have in the custom rom and playng with Dynamic Range Compression, bass and loudness or EQ

yes. it is an EQ, what you expect? hehe i look into it, it is the Beats Audio (tm) that have inside HTC phone..and you dont have to tune in DSP or playing with settings to get the sound..i always hope to get Beats Audio in my phone, and now is the chance..since i got dr.dre headphone, its perfect now

Hello all developers and XDA member, and yes this is what the title says.
Its Dolby Mobile and Beats audio in one package that the member vanillaLVL has ported to our X8s, and Ive got the permissions to publish it here on XDA.
What does the modules do?
The modules will increase the sound quality and make your sound more clear.
I already have Beats Audio
If you alread have Beats Audio you can install this too, it just overwrites the Beats Audio files that you have installed.
How to install:
Just install the update-audiomodules_signed.zip from the description to make it work.
Then open the Dolby Mobile app and accept Superuser permissions.
Done, now it should work perfectly
Credits:
The credits for the original mod goes to CKKnot.
Quinny898 for Therese Dolby Mobile app.
All credits for the port goes to vanillaLVL and all thanks goes to him.
And thanks to me for fixing a valid update.zip file

if you have any app at /system/app, backup them
then do those following
1. install ur rom again without full-wipe
2. install the rom fix etc....
3. reboot
4. restore back those system app that you backup-ed

After install this mod, you will experience:
Surround effect(Stereo speaker)
The sound becoming deeper(Dynamic Sample rate increased, You'll feel your song becoming deeper now!)
Background sound is heard clearly(Clarity)
Instructions:
DOWNLOAD SRS_Trumedia_V2_by_CKKnot_ported_by_dewanshu93 or from mirror or download from below attachment
Delete DSP Manager before flashing
Flash with CWM
NOTE:
After flashing phone takes time to boot so dont think you get a bootloop just wait for the phone to boot completely.
It will remove any /system/lib/soundfx files and install the SRS into it.
So, your all previous sound enchantments are removed! (To prevent lib conflicts)
For undo/remove this modification, You have two choices
Restore your rom backup easy right?
Backup your tweaks etc...
Reinstall your whole rom without full-wiping.

they are only bunch of system files..its like an EQ, doesnt have panel or app. if you flash the zip, just play songs, and you know the differences

I have flashed the libs after deleting (actually moved to sd card) DSP manager from system/apps via root explorer. After flashing, I have awsome sound on my X10MP (PrimeHD v3+nAa Kernel). Thanks for porting this to our X10MP. Again after flashing i moved DSP Manager to system/apps with "appropriate permissions" and after rebooting I could use DSP manager as well.

Its better didable all type of eq when using SRS on windows coz SRS is protech engeneers sound tuning stuf. In our phone the file is ready to go which mean user not interact with setups and etc SRS is already tuned to best sound and I think EQ-ing this not make it better -its brake it.
FOR EXAMPLE: If you use it on your PC/LAPTOP just enable the WOOW on 40% and then if you use AIMP for example ,kick the 5dB (bass) on 8 or 9 and you will see what's will happen
You will lose clearity and etc .

Sorry to disappoint you. This mod will not have GUI interface made by me...
If you want it, you can create a simple android app and contribute to this mod
The sound is better when it's system lib configurated

This is not good idea dude i try to explain why.
Boosting 3W speaker to 4W its not good.
Built in amp in our minis is 5W max. , speaker is 3W. Nominal range of amp is 2.5 wat which is best for 3W speaker. With this nominal values you get the best sound with great dBm and Khz. When you pump the nominal value with things like xloud and etc you just change output volume which cause noise , bad sound on max volume ,distortion , not good dBm and etc.
When tuning nominal sound like this mod and generally SRS do you will get the best of the best from your phone
In my last job i was the car audio intaller stuf and most of the young guys who came to buy amps speakers and etc want for example 200W amp and 200W speakers and I allways explain them the better choise will be 350W amp and 400W speakers with nominated and moderated max sound fot amp on 250W. They say this is less than max out of amp and i say yes but with this way you will get the amazing sound in your car ,deep bass without vibration and etc.
And thats why is better SRS-ed nominal sound rather than doubled max vol via xLoud like stuffs

guys, I tried this on my rooted SK17i with stock GB (.62 FW), but it results in a bootloop.
this is the first time I'm installing this mod and I did wipe the data + dalvik cache beforehand.

Thanks, For me, All its work. I test it with Walkman Xperia mod with clear bass. Perfectly work and louder with audio fx. Awesome sound. Test it with IEM dbe pr-20 (Soundmagic MP-21)

I installed Xperia S ICS walkman app before this.
I dunno but I don't hear any difference after I flashed this one.. I'm not sure what's all these beats fuss. The bass I hear was coming from the clearbass. Maybe someone with good ears might correct me.
It doesn't give any problems to my phone though. =)
How come in Xperia S thread, the dev said volume control doesn't work for walkman app. Did he mean "volume by beats (louder than Sony one)" doesn't work? Coz I can adjust volume.

what rom u r using?
i'm at Flush78 ICS Cold 2.2, this Beats V5 seem to work in my device,
Changes i found-
much louder
more definition
sweet bass
awesome surround (Maybe for dolby mobile)
and yeah with stock mini pro headset..
what i think these mods are rom dependent, likewise for some working and for some not..

I'm SK17i, Rooted, Stock ICS 4.0.4
First i flashed this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726709 for the Walkman Player
and i try to flash both of Mod below (Wipe Data and Dalvik cache):
# WalkmanBeatsModv5.0:
The DolbyMobile that have not effect both when it on or off (How about you?) ..
and there's no SRS
overall good..
# XSBeatsModv5.0
there is SRS but the current effect of it's setting will go when i close and reopen the walkman player
When i use sound enhancement (not the SRS one) as the default sound enhancements in Settings==>Sound==>Music Effect, the volume is set to MAximum and i can't control the volume
And the last, i think same bug i found with the Dolbymobile..
Yeah, i just found that bugs till now..

It is not bugs. This beats doesn`t work on stock Walkman player. And the verison for Xperia S Walkman doesn`t have SRS because it is optimized for work with player equalizer.

change MusicEffect in Settings and SRS panel doesn`t work with stock player.
