We all know the battery icon on the Vibrant is subpar. It looks like you have much more battery than you actually do. The stock icons (10, 20, 40, 60, 80%) don't show their correct percentages.
I made this morph in hopes to fix that issue. I actually measured the available space in the icon and figured how much each percentage would be (10, 20, 40, 60, 80). Only issue I can see is I don't know at what percentages the phone changes icons (ie. 20% icon at actual 20% or another close percentage).
Also including a revert in case someone wants to go back to the stock icon.
(May include comparison screenshots if I can get them)

Sorry.
Thank you so much!
Thank you!
Also, for those of you that don't want to have to morph, you could always download the battery watcher widget, which displays the percentage of battery remaining in a widget.
True. A lot of widgets will put a percentage up in the status bar. This is more for the OCD (no offense) people that can't stand having it be way off.

I have been trying to port over this battery from the captivate forums, as its super accurate (to the percentage). Anyone feel like trying? It involved 100 images and 3 xml files.

I can't make the orginal one work. The accurate battery I mean. It says applying but doesn't complete. How long does it normally take? Can you have more than one morph at a time? Did I miss something?

There seems to be a link to a Vibrant version here.
Ooh, I like that circle battery indicator! I originally wanted to see about making more icons than just the 7, but wasn't how to implement it (I'm not a coder).
The vibrant version is here also: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756441

Good call. That was the problem. It rebooted, will have wait a bit to see if it works. At 70% right now. Thanks
Anyone willing to make anaccurate battery mod that does not have an icon... I was thinking this would be nice:
- NO battery icon, simply a number in the notification bar.
- NO color, just the numbers in White/Black depending on the bar you are using.
- Benefit would be that it is CLEAN and EASY to read
- I would prefer it cound down in intervals of 5, maybe 10. Anything more than that is overkill and makes me constantly look at the battery... hate it.
Anyone else agree, and more importantly willing to try and do one?
I'm looking for the opposite
Accurate battery icon without the number. Unless I missed it, only ROM that does that right now is Trigger.
Actually, now that I think about it, doesn't the GenX themese basically do what you're looking for?
I like the idea, I like either or. I was looking at some themes on the i9000 page and I'm pretty sure there was one, goldeneye maybe? Not sure, there was two themes I looked at one had just a number and it looked nice. Trigger does just the battery with no numbers and its a lot better than having number and bar.
I think this is a good idea. If anything, it gives us all more options.

id like to get rid of the icon and have just the % also! that would be nice!

Tonic i started to learn to theme recently but i have a question.
If swapping battery mods you only need to copy the new ones in place of the other ones... is that correct? do we need to do anything with the xmls or anything extra?

My suggestion is to have it alternate between current % and 1% higher while charging....and maybe change the color just so you can tell the difference.
Alternatively, you could alternate between current % and a charging icon.
Let me know if you need a hand with it.

Hi there,
is there a way of getting the percentage of the battery-power in the status bar? My xperia mini is rooted, is it possible without flashing a whole (modded) firmware? I would be very happy If somebody could explain me how/ show me the necessary files, or give me some hint ...
thx,
Thorsten
Use Battery Indicator App from the Market!
Quicker Free
there are little adv space in the bottom, but it allows you to have almost all needed switchers (including spot light from led) .
Thanks a lot!
But what I am looking for is that I can only cat the percentage next to the original Battery symbol. Like it is in Cyanogenmod ...
Any suggestions?
Thorsten
if you have CWM then you can use Kitchen and change anything like showing battery Percentage.
Guide for using UOT Kitchen is Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1349048
Yeah, this modding tool rocks!
I managed it without clockwork recovery, just by exchanging the framework-res.apk file on the phone with the one created by UOTK. I uploaded the new package file via adb. If anybody is interested in details, wants to have some support you are kindly invited to ask.
Now I have exactly what I want standard rom with the battery-icon with percentage, the rest is unchanged. Awesome!
Thanks a lot!
Thorsten
good to hear it i didn't use it without CWM though

It's supposed to be like that.
The green LED simply means your phone is at least 90% charged.
i thought i just check the thread before i fix it via pc companion.looks like they have changed many things compared to old mini pro.but this is unusual.
o well thanks for posting or else it would of took me a few hours setting my phone up.

Title says it all. I hate the battery bar. I wish I knew how to do it myself.
I contacted the guy who posted this theme http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1366170&highlight=ics+zip the ics.zip
I wouldn't mind trying to port it over myself, I've actually been trying to figure out how the last few hours.. but I would love that theme. Mainly for the battery icon. But also for a little more ICS look.
Working on a stock-looking HTC Style battery with percentage right now. Was thinking this today when I looked at my phone and said to myself.. "I wonder where my battery is really at?"
Getting ready to install it now. Once I finish testing, if all goes well, I'll post it in a few minutes.

I was gonna contact the guy who made the caprombeta rom, he had battery % showing in his.. since he had his rom out so quick I imagine he must have had a quick and dirty method he could share.
I've seen a lot of people griping about the lack of an ICS look so I was considering using this thread that has a tool to port themes with the ICS.zip attached to that link I posted earlier.. it is supposed to put it into any rom(and looking at the batch file it doesn't need a whole rom, just what needs to be flashed). I would probably have it done already but I'm on my mac, and too lazy to sit at the desktop
Well here's mine. Nothing changed over stock theme except I added the percentage to the battery icon.
Also has smooth charging animations instead of the standard choppy ones and shows the current percentage between animation cycles while charging.
Used the UOT Kitchen to make it but replaced the battery images with my own. Hope you guys like it.
Just install in recovery.

Attached. Just extract it from the rar. When you upload a pic as an attachment, it compresses it to a different resolution.

It's not a feature directly implemented into the UOT Kitchen.
After the kitchen is done and you download your zip, extract the framework-res.apk from the zip.
Extract the "res" folder from the framework-res.apk and look for the directory "drawable-hdpi". In there you will find 206 images related to the battery. I replaced them all with images that matched HTC's stock battery but including percentage.
After you replace all the images to look how you want, just replace the res folder inside framework-res.apk and replace the one in the zip.

I got a critical error, all I needed was framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk and com.htc.resources.apk right? So I'm wondering if we don't have a MTD update binary(I didn't think we have emmc) or if I remember right that I am supposed to recompile or sign the apk or something..
Sigh, I had it all done too
Works great.
Was hoping to use this one -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1620376
But couldn't because I'm running this theme -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1620331
And the update file for it still included all the other (unaltered) images which resulted in the file overwriting all the altered images from the theme lol.
Thankfully this one was put together sans all the unaltered images so it works with the theme just fine. Thanks =)

That's really strange because I haven't noticed that problem. After I first installed ARHD, I noticed my battery percent in the status bar would be 2% high from the battery percent displayed in the unlock screen while unlocking.
After about 2 charge cycles and wiping the battery stats once that normalized and now I have excellent battery life and it's extremely accurate.

Thanks for that! Super handy, especially since you can see the %age from the lock screen (why wouldn't google/htc build that in??).
One note though - using it today and it reported 9% remaining within the battery icon, but 7% through other means. Not a huge deal, but thought I'd let you know.
Massiv.

You need to wipe before flashing any rom. Also you need to reboot manually after choosing your tweaks, not from the app.

Random reboots? Did the tweaks app mess something up?
I can't think of anything besides removing the battery then powering on.
The other option is to re flash the rom or i hope you have a nandroid.
When you use those tweaks you gotta be careful man it's like running across the street. Don't tweak it so much it might break something in the rom. That's why nandroids are your friend.

When you flashed any rom, did you fully wipe? Aka format all partitions. This prevents almost all error while flashing.
I'm not sure why you have a grey battery icon.
Do you mean it happens in every rom you use? I think I know what's wrong. You may have a defective battery. You can buy a battery on ebay for cheap.
I'm not sure what's happening here or what you are fully saying but that might be it, a bad battery is causing your problems.
