I would really like to dual boot between joelz's rezound bamf .8 rom and bamfx rom.
Is it possible to run this app even though the rezound is unsupported? If so I'm not sure what to enter for the manual variables. I also am not sure if s-on will prevent the functionality of this app.

lol, I feel like I've read this message about 3 times now. Contact the dev for app boot manager.
Idk where you might have possibly came to that idea. But im just wondering if it will work if the variable are entered correctly. If not what apps will work to dual boot roms.

Can't dual boot with that app since you have to switch kernels in hboot. Might be able to dualboot two gb roms or two ics roms though

I checked Boot Manager's forum and it looks like one of their dev's has a Rezound and is working on getting it to work.
Hey, just wanted you all to know that I am good friends with Gflam and Conap both of the devs at Init2winitapps. I am also a moderator in the forums over there. I have been talking to Gflam alot lately about a bunch of stuff and I can verify that at this moment Conap is working on officially suppporting the rezound. It may take a little while but I have complete faith in both of them to get this up and running. I also believe that they are working on getting the Droid Razr working but dont qoute me on that.

They also have a new file explorer out called slide explorer with awesome features unlike any other file explorer... check it out!
We released boot manager with rezound support yesterday it's pretty straight forward to use it's the same as all the other devices you just have to drop the boot.img or ph98IMG in the rom zip that the developer of the rom usually supplies and then just run the install as you would any other device (see our how to video for more instructions)

I know someone mentioned this in the Bamf Evita thread. But I also experienced freezing on my rom using boot manager. Now I dont want to call this out as a bug because I was in a rush to setup my second rom and I accidently hit ext2, dont know if that could have caused it, and I forgot to drop a boot img in the rom also, so it ended up failing to install the second rom. However, i didnt get a chance to do it correctly and noticed freezing and lock ups.
So, now that we have S-OFF, what's the progress on getting Boot Manager to fully work on S-OFF? Anxiously awaiting a fully-functional Boot Manager so that I can go ROM-crazy! Lol!
Seriously, I'm patient. Just curious as to an estimate of when we might see Boot Manager using S-OFF on the Rezound.
Thanks for all your hard work guys!
i hope they are working on it now and will release an update soon
so give it time.

hello, with last night gingerbread leak many of us unrooted users or myself a rooted user who was to lazy to download the rooted verison because the download link was broken. are now stuck with know way of going back. now not everyone cares about beeing stuck but my self and others miss out of the option to root i personaly miss my bamf asop rom that i was falling in love with. from what i gather we are in a holding pattern at the moment i was wondering if any of the great devs over here had attempted or mad any progess in rooting this last leak or if we have found a method to role back to mr2 so we could root that. any insight would be appricated
Didn't alpharev and unrevoked just release a new method that works with the tbolt? I know they released its a beta, but it works on the inc2 with gb
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA App
i dont think that will work for the tbolt
Before saying it won't work on TBolt try it out. Also I believe it does work. I'm not sure if it will work with this new leak but it works on the TBolt from what I've seen.
i do apolgize the post went out before it was finished and because im new to this fourm i have to wait 5mins before making any changes. i would love to try it its worth a shot can someone post me a link and ill report back if it works
this is exactly why i do not install leaked radios or leaked shipped ruu's.
I know it works on the Inc 2 and I'm almost positive that it included the tbolt in the list of devices when your downloading the beta code. It allows you to root the shipped gb on the Inc 2, may work on this version of gb as well.

just trade your TBolt for an LG Revolution. everyone says that one's the best.
Just go over to the Inc 2 forum here on xda and in general section there should be a thread about rooting gb.

The Revolution and AlphaRevX sites appear to be down for the time being, so even if it does work, it won't without being able to obtain a key for the beta release through the website.
Assuming you still have S-off and a recovery, i.e. you didn't flash the RUU, all hope isn't lost. However if you did, I'm glad I'm not you at the moment.

rooting on gingerbread is pretty much the same process as before, just subbing out psneuter for fr3vo.
I GOT ROOT WOHO thanks to all xda is a amazing place
This is why I would encourage everyone who is rooted to install that hard patched hboot in the dev forum and this problem wouldn't exist. Also not flashing RUUs carelessly Helps but I digress. The only problem with the patched hboot is getting back to s-on is a bit harder. You have to use fastboot with a special command to flash an s-on hboot. Personally I think everyone who is rooted should learn how to use fastboot and ADB anyway but once again digressing. (prob not a real word LOL)
As far as fixing the issue hopefully the Revolutionary tool will still work on that build just have to check the hboot version. If not, as stated previously replacing psnueter with frEVO in the original downgrade process should work.
Edit: sorry a little late I suppose.

That can probably be done with this phone since it uses the same chipset as the E3D and Sensation. Once I get mine next tuesday/wednesday ill see what I can do about getting this module to work.
If anyone takes a look at it, post anything you have tried. This could in theory at the very least allow an undervolt which would help offset the LTE power sucking.

It took a few days to get that inc port almost bugfree (usb pc transfer wouldn't work) but it was otherwise fine iirc. I hope that with support and other work to use as examples i can make some stuff for this device that isn't either a variation of AOSP or a sense port that has some serious drawbacks.
I am personally more interested in the possibility of underclocking and undervolting than OCing. Or maybe OCing and undervolting like I did with my droid x - can really help save some battery and allow the phone to sip less juice. This phone is so new I am getting ahead of myself, but hopefully in time we can get root/roms/OCing and undervolting apps to work on the Rezound.
I normally run my battery on performance mode on all my phones. I set it to normal, and with the equivalent usage I get 1/3 better battery life. I even leave all my antenna's on(except WiFi when I am away).
Just to let everyone know what I tried. I took the file for "unsupported phones" from the link's thread and changed the version number to match the rezound, which is -- 2.6.35.13-g20c5d1d -- . As you can see it was not just the ending part starting with the 'g' that needed to be changed as ours is 2.6.35.13 and the file was made for 2.6.35.10. But since a reboot resets everything I tried it by changing only the part starting with 'g' and it failed saying "Exec format error". So I then changed the entire version string to match ours and adb actually completed the task but the phone rebooted immediately and everything was wiped out again.
I did this before the kernel source was put up on the forums but since I dont have ANY knowledge of messing with kernels I am no help there, but hopefully this can help someone get this mod going for the Rezound.
we don't have perma root like the 3vo did so I don't think this will work until then. But this was a band aid until the kernel source was released so this won't even be necessary anymore.

The guy who made Setcpu made a script that allowed oc on the stock kernel on the 3D. It was before perm root. It was right after agrabren found the first exploit and a reboot would return the phone to stock. You temp rooted ran the script from adb and used Setcpu to oc.. Some of the smoothest kernel action the 3D had.. I'm sure same thing is potentially there, just need someone smart enough to do..

Since I happened to venture to theses parts since our buddy plat ventured to this. I am a bit surprised to see you switched. How ever the module you are talking about in the op I am pretty sure you can't just hex edit the kernel version. As the kernel will be different for the device compared to that of the evo 3d. If it is anything like doing the g2 version for the htc merge that is. Where it had to be recompiled to work correctly.
I am sure one of the dev's familiar in here with building source code could get it done up. If it works after that I am unsure. Though con you ported the sense hd rom from the inc to the desire. That was the only one that you had ported. Followed by you followed samuel2706's guide and other info he gave you. Then you came to me to ask how I fixed the mms and verizon branding in the rom. In which I told you how to fix it but you put it off as you fixed it. As you are putting off in here.
I have been running Synergy for a week or so and I personally think its flawless. I have been checking out the Infected thread and it seems pretty popular too. Just wondering if theres a difference between the 2 or are they pretty similar? I cant imagine my phone being anymore perfect but if someone has tried both could you give me a little feedback on the difference between the 2 or should I just stick with what I got (dont fix it if its not broken) Thanks for any feedback
I had synergy and unfortunately since 2.3.4 it hasn't been too stable. Ziggy's kernel has/had some stability issues and is what's packed with synergy. Otherwise it's flawless. The lack of support kinda pushed me away, but no offense to the devs. I know everyone got busy with other projects and I do appreciate the work put in.
I switched to infected because of it being part of the same dev team and love it. It's about the same but more active. I don't think all of the bugs are worked out for the sense 3.5 version yet, but the one previous is great.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
honestly you should give it a try , sense 3.0 with the latest virus eternity 1.5 flawless and i think its a bit faster you will see .. and we all know if you keep everything stock such as the kernel you wont have any issues .
Just Nandroid what you have then give the other a try.

Stick to Synergy. I had Infected for about a week and then it had Sense errors which made me completely go to synergy because my phone would boot but everything with Sense would FC and my phone became useless.

I'm waiting on 1.5 to be released because 1.42 had the issue i said with my moms phone as well.
I used Synergy for about a month. I liked it, but I couldn't get it to be completely stable. Every other day, I would find it stuck on the Synergy boot screen and have to three finger salute it. Tried clearing cache and reflashing kernel via fastboot but no joy. Swapped to CleanROM and have been happy with it. I think I read somewhere that one of the primary devs for Synergy got deployed and that probably why we not seeing much work with it lately..
I'm probably going to stick with CleanROM for now. Looking forward to the arrival of ICS based ROMs but those may be a ways off. Takes time to add all that Carrier IQ crap to the kernel.. /s
To bloated and unstable. Stock Sense leads to no problems.

Everyones phone is different in terms of stability. Me personally I had a ton of problems on Synergy and cant even run it cause of so many random reboots and force closes. Infected had issues for me only when I ran it at first with Ziggy's kernel. But now on 1.4.2 and Chad's kernels it works perfect and my phone has never run better. So it all depends on your phone.
I want to use Synergy but I am confused on how to install the rom.
Is it the same as installing other roms? Nandroid, wipe, then flash ?
Do I have to convert my file system ext4?

I guess my personal input is
1 -- if you are in an area where you can get 4G speed, then stop and just enjoy it
2 -- use it awhile and if it does what you want to do, then stop and just enjoy it.
3 -- remember that ICS is coming soon. if you are willing to use an alpha ROM without 4G, and there is also something you Must have, then consider a custom ROM. And then enjoy it!

If 4g is of no concern to you then i would definitely suggest that you unlock. The little tweaks and such you can make to stock rom just doesnt even compare to what throwing a custom on it would do for ya. The reason i would suggest doing that as soon as you can is because the latest updates will permanently lock your bootloader, this also includes the ics update that is soon to come. It cant be reversed at this time unfortunately. Do yourself a favor and dont get locked down to a rom that you will never be able to get rid of.

Also, the versions from kitchen sink are not the latest versions. Installing a rom the good old fashioned way is less convenient but less prone to error.

I don't think kitchen sink has been updated lately. there are more recent threads for each rom. this will help with cm9 questions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22915493

Which version of cm9 are most people using? I grabbed the latest from Jokers site and seems good except I have no phone service lol.
Two different versions of cm9 and neither have a mobile network. I am using jokers recovery v3 to flash. not sure what I am doing wrong and damn the rom runs soo smooth, any help is appreciated. I am putting the roms on my sd card booting into recovery, doing a data wipe and cache then installing the zip from my sd. It boots into the rom fine although it does say something about an error once booted but the only problem I see is no mobile network.
Go to cm9 fixes thread, grab cm9 version 3.1. Wipe system/dalv/data/cache, install 3.1, boot, reboot to recovery, wipe cache and dalvik, install latest cm9, install gapps, reboot.

Hello XDA, long time lurker, first time poster. Thank you for all the info over the years
OK, here's where I'm at, after being without my rezound for several months due to broken screens I finally got off my butt and fixed it. I rooted and flashed the phone a long time ago and reading up again I have no idea what I should be doing in order to get the latest stuff. hboot, radios, etc. To prove how long its been I flashed CleanROM 4.3 using the old/new firmware patch...lol I never even installed the factory OTA ICS.
so my questions are...
Do I relock the phone and flash the Original image and let the update process go as Verizon intended then start from scratch?
Do I bite the bullet and do S-Off to make the update process easier?
I'm pretty rusty with the processes. I appreciate any help pointing me to the correct process to take, I'm just confused since I'm so far behind lol.
Thanks

Personally what i would do, is relock your phone and update to the latest radios for s-on which you can find here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250494&page=4 and its under post 35 then follow the instructions on post 59 of same thread
then load up a amon ra which you can download from post 2 on this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2070947
I dont see the need for s-off, i can do everything that i need to do with s-on with that extra layer of security i guess. But some ppl love the s-off, so if you wanna try that, then i say go ahead, it would def make it a billion times easier to update to the latest and greatest
Thanks for the fast reply!
Sounds easy enough reading the links. I think I may have been over complicating it in my head with all the reading I've done the last couple days since fixing my phone back up. Going to give it a go tomorrow morning when I have some free/quiet (no kids!)

Yeah, thats easy to do. Its really not as complicated as it may sound, and maybe 30 mins TOPS of your time if that from start to finish. The longest parts would be the flashing of everything. Good luck with everything
Good to hear I'm really looking forward to trying out some new ROMS. I flashed the current one and never bothered with it again just because I had some issues getting that one to work. Was OK after I applied the old/new firmware patch. Then a couple weeks later the OTA update for ICS was released, did a little bit of reading on that but just ended up deciding not to mess around lol. Now my wife's Rezound is behaving better than mine since she left hers stock and I'm jealous lol.
Looks like I have to sign into HTCdev again to get an unlock token since I lost all my login info lol. Gonna have to set up all the ADB stuff too since I lost the WIndows VM I originally unlocked it with lol.
thanks for the warm welcome to xda, nice "Don't be a n00b video" too btw

yea, there has been alot of dev for the rezzy now. a bunch of JB roms and other great stuff, Neo, Shrike, Chad and others but not sure off hand have all done amazing work and worked hard getting us JB AOSP roms and stuff. My phone has never run better.
Welcome to the forums btw
I will admit I was surprised to see so much new dev after coming back. when I first started messing with my rezzy I was kinda sad about the lack of ROMS and kernels available, I didn't even see a CM ROM out for it. Most likely due to coming from an original droid that had dozens of options lol. But I'm stoked to see all the new stuff. I wanna say I read here somewhere that the dev kinda stalled out while waiting for HTC to leak/update to ICS. Prolly gonna jump right into JellyBean once I'm where I need to be, the link to the Infection ROM looks smexxy!

Totally agree...was frustrated when I first got mine for lack of support but I also got it right when we were waiting for the ril so ICS was at a hault. It seems since the ril was hacked, created what ever they did it just kinda blew up ICS all over now jb def no lack if support

In case it helps, I attached my "android flashing" folder with what you need for using fastboot/ADB.

thanks, I just saw this after reflashing amon ra. I've gotten it all flashed and everything, but after a few seconds of the clean rom boot animation its locking up and Im pulling the battery. :/
I dont need to reflash the Old Firmware Patch.zip anymore since completing the updates correct?
I had planned on a news ROM anyways, should I just flash the new ROM?
THANKS for all the help so far

Well, after no issues throughout the day I finally got bit! Phone was having horrible battery life, me thinking since the phones been sitting for a few months I would do full charge, boot into recovery and wipe the battery stats and see how it goes. Well after the wipe and reboot Im getting the horrid boot loop haven't changed anything since the first initial boot after flashing the ROM, other than deleting the images I flashed the ROM with from the sd card. I'm not sure how it could have got borked.
any ideas?
Your on infection 2.5 correct?

OK it seems to be hit n miss on this ROM some people are reporting great luck and then the others are reporting boot loops. I myself haven't had n issue with boot looping. When some people have done was this.
First was to reflash 2.5
Some have also tries the boot.IMG from 2.4 it seems that it has fix it for some and not others. If it hasn't fixed the problem people are jumping back to 2.4. Worse case I have a clean backup from a fresh install. I could upload that to my db and send you a link. You could try flashing that as well.

Correct, I flashed the 2.5. no worries on the db upload, I'm at work and cant mess around with it. Ill try the 2.4 boot.IMG when I get back to the house. Guess I should have tried a reboot after the initial setup lol.
Understandable. Were not totally sure why its only effect certain ppl. If it was ROM related it would seem like it word effect everyone. Try that n let me know if I don't respond shoot me a pm. I get those notification faster then the forum ones for some reason

Yes, flashed the latest global radios. Confirmed by looking at the wifes stock phone lol. Quick question, where is the DL link to the 2.4 IMG? only seeing the 2.5 over at http://androidrevolutions.com/neo/files/ gonna try and move the boot.IMG to the sd card from the work PC, may or may not work since they have them locked down pretty tight but I'm gonna at least try.

That's 2.4
