I can't flash any zips, or restore my nandroid. I think something happened in the process of trying to revert to the stock OTA kernel so I could restore my GB nandroid from ICS.
I'm basically stuck, not sure what to do. Tried reflashing recovery through fastboot. No good.

Did you relock the bootloader before trying this stuff?
No but I think I may have figured it out. Still not sure what happened but the recovery seems to be working now. Trying to flash the stock OTA ROM for now.
Edit: Back in action. So I was finally able to flash the stock rooted OTA and boot up. Must have messed something up when I was flashing a kernel or something.

I am having this same issue. And, when I try to run the RUU executable, I get an error, wrong bootloader version. How did you resolve this issue? Thanks in advance.

What happens if you use the boot image (PH98IMG.zip) from your current rom that you're running and flash it in hboot and then reboot?
disregard
I used this guide and it worked. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1486220
thank god.
I'm the same, I can't restore or back up. I'm on the ICS HBoot and clean 4.3 Rom. I have the v1.4 recovery. I can see my sd card on my phone with es explore and I can see my back ups in recovery. But I get the oops every time when I try to use restore or back up.

This will sound bruteforceish, but after some time in a similar spot, I did this and had 100% fixage:
- Flash the latest leaked ICS RUU
- After that, download the PH98IMG version of AmonRa
Assuming you're s-off'd, this will completely wipe your phone, but it should fix your boot issue, any lingering SD issues, and had AmonRa recovery up and running w/o issue.
If need be i uploaded the 2.01.605.11 RUU here http://d-h.st/Ju5
I had the same issue when i obtained s-off and ran that ruu then all was well
Instructions:
1. Download
2. Rename file to PH98IMG
3. Check MD5
4. Load onto root of SDCard
5. Boot into HBOOT
6. Wait for it to finish
Remember you must be S-Off if you're trying to downgrade from the Leaked ICS firmware
Having all kinds of issues with AR. cant nandroid back up, says it fails, cant mount the SD card, cant look at error logs, or move them...
However after beating my brains out for hours with this issue i tried CWM touch ( hope it don't have charging error ), and it works just fine.... hmmmmm
looks like AR cant handle whatever s-off did maybe?

Is this the GB ruu and if so I follow your instructions flash the ruu in hboot and re-down load the recovery right. I have tried every thing that is a fix for the newest firmware with no luck. When I did the s-off thing I used the ICS hboot. Since we have s-off I could down grade back to GB right. I just would like my sd card and recovery back. I just need some help with this, like I said I tried all the ICS sd card fix with no luck. The only thing I have not done yet is the adb busy box command thing yet. I tried to do it, but it's not working for me. I typed adb shall in cmd and only get a list of adb commands. I've also tried adb devices and it wont list my phone, but if I do a fastboot devices my phone is listed. I'm in fastboot when I try the adb devices. I'll keep reading and learning, something has to work. I learned to unlock, install recovery, install a rom and flash the kernel, s-off my phone and just about every other thing likes mod and how to move files in es explorer. I just need to find a way to fix my recovery... But thanks for every ones help and thanks to the dev for making all the great roms and for getting us s-off.

Yeah this is the gb ruu. Your firmware and hboot will downgrade but you will keep s-off. I'm not sure if flashing the leaked ics ruu will work but I wouldn't be surprised if it would.

I was running ZR3Dv2.4b smoothly and tried to use boot manager to boot MIUI. MIUI ran fine, but I could not boot back. I tried to flash a new rom and it would still only boot MIUI. It said data, system, and boot are all unmounted? But said image flashed succesfully. I can remount system and data, but no option for boot. Now I cant even boot back to even MIUI. All I get is the HTC screen.
I also tried to download the first posted link for a 2.17 ruu from this thread; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24268786&postcount=209
Bootloader finished checking it and quickly says wrong zip and brings me back to main bootloader screen.
Please help me us my phone again!
Did you try fastbooting into your recovery. 4ext leaves a copy of the boot.img on your sd card. If you have a sd card reader you should try to extract it, place it on your pc and fastboot into it.
Coming from sense to aosp and back and forth can cause all kinds of headaches.

I've had this happen on my 4g before. Your boot.IMG is borked. A nandroid restore will fix it.

have you installed boot manager in MIUI from play store? You should boot phone ROM from it.
If you get stuck , all you need to do is flash update.zip located in bootmanger/phonerom folder from recovery, if you are s-on you can't flash the update.zip without booting recovery from fastboot or without using 4ext recovery.....
Next time do a little search outside xda too. The boot manager's site has a guide and faqs and solutions too.
if you had setup the zr3d rom with bootmanager, flash the same rom again and flash the update.zip.....see if that works
i cannot boot back into any rom. I tried everything in recovery. no matter what my device hangs on the htc screen.
Why not just reformat your sd after backing it up. Then reflash your recovery. Then do a full wipe and flash a rom.

I have been searching for instructions (with download) on how to relock my bootloader via fastboot connected to a pc. But unable to find what I am looking for. If I can just relock the bootloader sprint will give me a new one.

here... take this file im sending you and download it and save it in the same folder as your fastboot and adb files and once its saved there start your phone into the bootloader... the part where you get it to say fasyboot usb... then go to your computer and PM me from three ill give you further instructions to fix it and then relock it if you choose to
You don't flash an exe you run it from your pc while your phone is plugged in and on charge mode only. Also make sure usb debugging is checked. Also the reason why I suggest to flash a new recovery or reflash your current recovery is that sometimes recoveries can become corrupt. Just because you can flash doesn't mean your recovery is functioning the way it should. So rather than try to figure out if your recovery is corrupt it takes like 5min to reflash it. That way you rule out your recovery as being the culprit.

is there a way i can push the RUU leak file via ADB so i can flash that again using the built in recovery?

I tried that way too later on. It gave me permission denied. I think because my rom was gone debugging was no longer enabled and write permissions to the SD card were gone. I was able to get back up and running by using a card reader.

Ok, I was trying to flash the newest ICS leak and being the newb I am, its borked.
Right now I have an unlocked bootloader with H-Boot 2.11.0000
I have a blank SD card and I just need to know what files to copy to it and what steps to get back to stock or possibly getting the 5/8 ROM leak installed
I'm assuming your s-on still, follow the directions in the OP to install.
Installation for S-ON Devices on Gingerbread firmware
* Copy ROM to SD Card AND PH98IMG.zip AND GB Firmware Patch to ROOT of SD Card
* Reboot to recovery
* wipe data / Factory Reset
* Flash ROM
* Flash GB Fimrware Patch
* Use Developer Menu to reboot to bootloader and flash the boot.img file in the PH98IMG.zip
* Reboot
* Profit!
How exactly do you FLASH the rom without renaming it?

1) Easiest thing for you is to turn USB Debugging on in Settings (Apps > Development), hook up to PC, and use the Hasoon2000 Noob-proof toolkit to reboot directly to recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22696442
2)Many Custom ROMs have Reboot to Recovery in the power button menu
3)Ninja grab the battery at an angle and slide SD Card out, go to recovery, and slide in while mainitaining power connection. (Not ah, recommended but good in a bind)

You need to first flash a custom recovery and then select that option (AmonRa 3.15 recommended, CWM is buggy on charging battery). That Hasoon2000 kit in last post can do that for you too if you don't have AmonRa installed.

That seems to be the biggest issue, can I flash a recovery without being able to boot my phone up... I only have access to the bootloader.
All the instructions fail to mention the requirement for the recovery app... That was the newb boo-boo.
I think there is a zip somewhere, but it's easier with adb.
fastboot flash recovery (name of recovery).img
I recommend S-Off. It makes all of this super easy. I promise its really not that hard. The wire trick looks worse than it is.
Edit: fixed. I'm retarded in the morning.

Yeah, manually you can flash a custom recovery via the same method, a PH98IMG.zip from bootloader. You delete the existing PH98IMG file and replace with one containing AmonRa (what exactly is that zip, do you need it still?)
But, adb fastboot commands when hooked up to PC can flash the recovery directly to memory from an img file. Just need USB Debugging turned on in the Settings on a regular boot to the ROM.
Sooo just use the toolkit on a PC to eliminate hassle if ya can lol. It uses that second paragraph's method. Just need to click an option and it runs the script. Now ya know both ways.
Oh, link in earlier post from my XDA app is not working :/ here is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22696442
I guess until I find the zip and instructions I have a brick.

Ah, I meant the ROM, but not even the ROM boots because of bad flash. No worries. Don't need to be in the ROM anyway, toolkit works in the bootloader.
1) Ensure drivers for phone are properly installed on PC. (Google and download HTC Sync if unsure.)
2) Download and extract toolkit. Run the All In One exe file. The GUI comes up with your options.
3) With phone off, remove SD Card.
4) Boot into bootloader. Select Fastboot option.
5) Connect to PC via USB.
6) Select AmonRa from toolkit options and install.
7) Power down phone, disconnect and insert SD Card.
8) Connect phone, power it up and select Reboot to Recovery on the toolkit.
From recovery, you can enable USB mass storage option for memory and download/transfer files you need from your PC, delete the PH98IMG.zip, etc.

Several user reports in the forum say ClockworkMod (CWM) has an issue with charging our batteries when the drain gets low. Risk not being able to charge phone at all and brick that way. AmonRa or TWRP from the Development section are still recommended for this particular phone for now.
Hope you get sorted out on the ROM

Yes, just install the new recovery normally, will be okay.
I guess I did end up installing AMON recovery, I just checked. Creating Nandroid right now....
Does a Nandroid basically recover EVERYTHING?
fairly new to rooting, so sorry if the fix is simple (hoping it is). i have a evo 4g lte, rooted it, been having issues flashing cm10, so i would reflash a previously saved working rom, no problems. i have been using twrp for recovery. so i switched to cwmr (HUGE MISTAKE)to try and see if that would somehow fix why everytime i was flashing cm10 my phone would never load past the loading screen ( android in middle of revolving circle). basically my problem is, in recovery i cant mount ext-sd or the internal sd, i can "see" my saved backups, but cant flash them, when i try it says" no files found" i played with things for a while, somehow got some old downloaded cm10 version to work, so i atleast have a working phone, but cant mount my sdcard under storage which i need done to flash twrp back into my phone. ive been reading on how to use termianl emulator to mount sd card, but cant figuer that out, any help would be muchly appreciated, sorry for long description of my issue, i just want to be able to flash twrp, reboot into recovery and restore back to a previously working rom!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!
also... cm update is constantly running, cant stop it, my pc doesnt recognize my phone, cant mount in recovery or in settings. tried copy and pasting the saved zip files using a root browser app to relocate them and trying to reboot into recovery and flashing them, that does work... please help!!!!
If you can get into terminal emulator, then just flash twrp using that. The directions are on their website.

too late, i kept playing around with everything in recovery mode, and apprently made things worse, now the phone will recognize my ext sd and not the internal sd, which is what u need to use terminal emulator to reflash twrp, any other suggestions???
You can update recovery image through fastboot or place the twrp update zip (rename PJ75IMG.zip) on external and boot to bootloader. As for internal being corrupt, boot into twrp and mount as USB storage and format through pc

ADB Tools Mini SDK
Extract this and then open the folder and hold shift+select and right click. In the menu select open command window here. Put your phone in fastboot and connect to pc. Type fastboot devices to make sure its connected. Then type fastboot flash recovery "filename.img" filename being what ever the name of the recovery file is. It should write recovery and then you can boot into twrp
