Has anyone got this play market instead of the android market? Is it a new update?
sent from cm7 atrix 1.3ghz
Yea I got it. I had to clear cache in android market, and then it auto updated, and now called Google play store. Looks same... Just says Google play on top instead of market. On pc Google play is black and white themed

I too got the Google Play store update. It seems there are some speed improvements, but other than that nothing else seems different. Also, I noticed when using the default blur home launcher that the market shortcut that appears at the top of the app drawer is broken. It no longer registers the market being installed. Wondering if this is a coding issue due to the name change.

Apps uninstall themselves? I just went to play angry birds, and the launcher icon was broken. This has happened with other apps for some reason, so I went to add it from my app drawer but it wasn't there... I went to android market and i had to reinstall. It didn't even say I had it downloaded. Anyone know the deal with this?
Also, on an unrelated (maybe) side note, today my phone randomly shut off in the middle of a phone call. Why would it do that?

Have you tried applications management, force stop market, clear data, do same with Google framework. Reboot, run market. If not search for Google Play. Apk. Download, intall and repeat above

DAE have most apps report they are incompatible with their gtab? Its liike the ics beta doesn't have the so called market fix?!?!
No problems here. Google Play updated just fine, and most apps I am looking for show up with the default settings.
With the ICS Beta 1.0, you can go into ROM Control and change the footprint to be seen as different tablets, such as the Xoom and Transformer.
Make sure to Force Stop the Market (Play Store) app and clear data (also check to see if Market Updater needs to be force closed). You may also have to force stop Google Framework and clear its data as well.
If you change footprints, you have to clear market data so it will load the new footprint.
Try upgrading to the latest gapps package TeamDRH released. It has google play built in.
This worked thanks!

Select the widgets tab from your app drawer then drag and drop.
Loving this ROM, it installed with no issues. Multitouch gestures are not working at all for me (which would be fine if I didn't have apps that seem to require it).
Has anyone found a successful way to get rid of the status bar at the bottom?
I have looked at other threads, it seems some ROMs have this built in. The auto-hide option in settings didn't work, and I tried the Gesture Control app with no luck either (maybe because multitouch isn't working for me).
I'm using a stock, unrooted Photon. Yesterday I opened the Market, it closed quickly, and refused to restart. Nothing happened when I selected the icon.
Same issue this morning, so I decided to reboot, and now my Market icon has disappeared, replaced by an icon that looks like a settings icon.
Selecting edit on that icon, it still refers to the Market. When I list my apps, Market is not present.
So now I don't know how to access (or update) my Market app.
Any guidance is appreciated.

I don't have your device, but with the timing I'd suggest that it might be related to Google Play. Play's Google's new market, there are a few of them... Play Music, Play Books, etc etc etc
Try installing Play from the web interface.

AHA!
Play Market was in my Apps list, problem solved. Thanks for the tip!
A better notification from Google regarding this would have been helpful.
Yes, google would have been wise to pop up a notification when they changed the market. My girlfriend texted me in a panic thinking she broke something because market was missing.

They actually fixed it in the newest version.

I saw that Real Racing 2 went on sale for $0.99 and I wanted to take advantage of that. Unfortunately, the Play Store seems to think the app is incompatible with my device. I'm running turl's CM9, which, by default, reports itself as an "unknown MB860". I did some research and changed build.prop to be a "motorola MB860", cleared data for Google Play Store, rebooted, and still no go. I then got out a bigger hammer (as the post I found about market incompatibilities suggested) and change it to a "samsung Nexus S". No joy. I can't imagine the game isn't actually compatible with the Atrix, is it? Any idea of how I can get this purchased and installed? Thanks.
You can purchase through logging in to your Google account through a browser on the Google play website. As for installing it I have no idea
I was annoyed by this too. Really wanted to download this game but got the incompatibility message too on cm7.

It's incompatible with stock, the game is probably only for 800x480 pix screens.

Yeah, I also had the free version on Nottach's ROM... installed fine off of market for me. Ran laggy as hell though, what has your guys experience been with it?
, i have a vibrant using ICS euphoria , kernel 3.1.10-kiss-v8
having many problems with google play and updating or downloading new apps. for example..
dolphin browser beta . searching this on google play and it will say "device not compatible" ,so i have to dl the apk. now i have dolphin and it works but will not update as on my phone it does not list dolphin browser in the list of apps in google play. but when i check on my computer online at google play it says i have dolphin browser.
this happens with other apps. how do i fix this and why is my phone not working with google play the way it should?
thanks
I had a similar problem with my phone. I changed the dpi to 240 and voila. Try it may be it can work out.

Try try to use capital letters.
One problem with PlayStore is if the phone isn't 240dpi it might become incompatible. So you'll have to clear the PlayStore data and set it back to 240dpi.
Also developers can set their app to not be compatible with your phone. The way I get around it is to log into Play Store within a browser. When you download an app from the browser it will show you a list of all the Android devices that are associated with your gmail account, hopefully the app is compatible with one of that device. Then download it to that device, then back up that app to apk to send to your phone.
It's one of the annoying thing about Android right now.
thanks
thank you guys , that worked great and its something so simple. went to gmarket and i had so many apps to update , i had no idea
cheers
