Flash Tool Not working - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I have downloaded the flash tool twice but the downloaded file always gives error(even tried opening as administrator).
Plz Help

You antivirus program blocked the file.
Disable all antivirus first and make sure you run your bit version (86, 62)

I have checked that my antivirus program isn't blocking it.
I am using Win7 64bit version. Do i have to download 64 bit version of flash tool, if so plz give link.
Thanks

I also have 64bit version, regular Flashtool works fine.
Seems like you have a file missing. Maybe your antivirus has placed it into the Chest/Vault or something like that, because it detected as something dangerous. Check your antivirus settings.

I copied the downloaded file to my other PC having same antivirus there and it runs perfectly fine there.
Thanks everyone

KIS and KAV are blocking installer.

RSDLite 5.3.1 Won't Install

I can't install RSD Lite 5.3.1.
I'm running Windows 7 x64, and I have downloaded RSD 5.3.1 from 3 or 4 separate download sites to make sure it just wasn't a bad package.
The error that I am getting is attached, it's error 2738, and yes, I have googled; it doesn't seem like anyone has had this issue of not being able to install RSD.
I have rebooted my laptop a few times, and I was able to install RSDLite 5.0 with no problems.

I installed the drivers and everything again. For some reason it just won't install on my machine. I was able to unlock my bootloader using a Vista machine in like 20 minutes, 5.3.1 installed immediately.
Im having the same issue on my Vista CPU and the same exact code... 5.0 installed fine but I need 5.3.1 since i updated my phone to 2.3.4 if anyone can help that would be great. As of right now Im stock and dont know what to do...
I dont know about windows 7 but I was able to fix this same issue/error on vista.
run cmd as an admin and copy and paste these individually and hit enter after each.
reg delete "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{B54F3741-5B07-11CF-A4B0-00AA004A55E8}" /f

RSD Lite Win 7 x64 Fix
Since RSD Lite no longer comes with an EXE and therefore installing in compatibilty mode is not longer an option, I spent some time researching and banging my head against my desk in frustration that it wouldn't install. In a past job, I was a Windows Developer. When RSD Lite installs and reaches the error, it is in the Commit Stage - Therefore, all the installation (save for the creation of icons and other post-installation scripts) has been done.
All this to say, when you see the Error 2738, Don't click "OK" right away. Navigate to the installation directory, Copy all the files and paste them to a different directory in the Program Files (x86) directory. Then click OK.
Create a shortcut to the SDL.exe file (on your desktop, start menu, wherever you like) and edit the compatibility of the shortcut to always run as administrator.
Double-click your new shortcut et voilà! RSD Lite actually works on Windows 7 when it previously did not.
I have done and tested with RSD Lite 5.6 and 5.7
Interesting. I wonder why this is happening to some folks? I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and every version of RSD lite has always installed flawlessly for me.
Good looking out jduke882 - But, in researching Error 2738 I found that it has to deal with not being able to access VBScript run time for custom action. So, all the folks that cannot install RSD Lite - is your VBScript runtime working?
More info here: http://www.jakeludington.com/window...cess_vbscript_run_time_for_custom_action.html
And M$ even created a HotFix for it, see http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...time-for/1a4499ae-8bc1-4534-9c6f-4d399ac70d9a
FWIW: Those of you on x64 OSs could not use the fix posted by supermerkin b/c that was 32bit specific. The command to be entered is as follows:
Code:
reg delete "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{B54F3741-5B07-11CF-A4B0-00AA004A55E8}" /f
The 64bit machines need that Wow6432Node path inserted in order to delete the correct key.
Also, as noted in the first link, re-registering the vbscript.dll to the system is also needed:
Code:
c:\windows\syswow64\regsvr32 vbscript.dll
.
For people with custom Windows installations (i.e. not C this command will always work, regardless of where windows is installed:
Code:
%windir%\syswow64\regsvr32 vbscript.dll

downgraded NEW tab to 1.4.0 but can't root in Windows 7 64-bit

I got a new Nook Tablet and it came with 1.4.1 installed, so I downloaded the acclaim_update.zip and put it on a microSD card and successfully downgraded to 1.4.0 but had to do a factory reset and opted out of the "out of box experience".
The problem seems to be that I have a Windows 7 64 bit system and this prevents me from "upgrading" the drivers on my system so that I can root the tablet.
Would it be easier to use the script for rooting the tablet using a Linux system?
I am going to see if I can find that script online in case that is the only way to go.
I do not have a 32 bit Windows system.
thanks
I have Windows 7 x64 bits and i had no problems at all even having my LG GT 540 drivers installed, i have windows update disabled "never check for updates" and before install the drivers u need to run the runmefirst.bat if you are having conflict with drivers there is a step by step guide try that and report back. Also do not run as administrator the .bat scripts. In my FAQ (link in my signature) there are other links to troubleshoot drivers if needed.

Note also that I had two "runmedirst.bat" files - one packed with the drivers and one with zergrush. The first time I tried I used the wrong one and couldn't root. I *think* you want the one that was packed with zergrush.

Thanks for the reply. The problem is that the moment I connect to wifi on the NT, it will be upgraded to 1.4.1, right? Can I download the TGPS_Launcher.apk on a pc and copy the file to MicroSD card and install from there? I am unable to install apk's at the moment since no installer is on the NT and I think I can only install from Market. I don't know how to get around this problem.

Thanks for this tip. I will look for the second script. It is likely I used the wrong one. If I do not see it, I will look for a separate Zergrush. I know I have one file or directory by that name with the drivers I downloaded.

You must install the drivers in order to root. LordGibson is right use the runmefirst.bat from Nook&Zergy.zip i too had issues with the runmefirst.bat from the drivers.zip

I downloaded the other Zergy and drivers files and had the same problems. I think the problem is the Windows 7 system and I could not get the "new" drivers to install. I will check your FAQ and if that does not work, I will try to get it rooted via Linux, but that approach seems not so easy.
Also, do I need to make a new Google account in order to download an app to the tablet? I tried it and it just sends the app to my phone.
thanks
Windows 7 64-bit here as well. The drivers are a pain but keep trying with usbdeviewer helping you and you will get it.
Also I have rooted three times and each time I had the tablet hooked to WIFI for extended periods and never once did it show any signs of upgrading to 1.4.1

for sideload apps like tgps_launcher.apk you dont need a google account, but for download from android market you will need one after you root.
Check out Albert's videos:

I watched the video but was unable to install tgps_launcher.apk due to a parsing error. I do not think this is going to work.
I have never registered this device, I was afraid that if I did that, the device would revert to 1.4.1.
Linux also did not get this thing rooted with the NARS script. Although the Linux netbook mounts the tablet and I can see the files on it, the NARS script can't find the device.
thanks
P.S. I was able to install another package called AppMenu and that allowed me to enable USB debugging. This might be helpful.

Thanks for all the help. The video showed me what (I think) I might have done wrong. I did not think it was still necessary to reboot the machine after removing a driver. That and the link the video gives for an AppMenu really helped.
I am not certain whether all went well because the window closed abruptly after I selected removal of game apps during the installation process. I only wanted to remove the games and leave everything else. Going to reboot the NT. At least if something went wrong, I know I can restart.

You can uninstall the games later manually no need to run the script again, just make sure it rooted your device and you be good to go, also do not forget to block OTA. Indirect has another post for that specifically.

I did not full debloat because I thought I would lose all access to B&N. It happens that when I try to access B&N's Nook apps, to look for more apps, I get errors. This is probably not a big deal since I can probably get everything B&N has, from Android Market.
I did not know which launcher to install since I am unfamiliar with them. I just went with the "Go" launcher because it was first on the list; it's okay I am not voting for politicians, just a launcher for my tablet.
BTW, the first thing I did after restarting the tablet was to use Titanium Backup, then I replaced the backup files with three I had downloaded a few days ago, then I did a "restore" to those files. I checked my device information and confirmed that all went well.
I think this is why I can't access more Nook apps from B&N.

Nokia Care Suite problem

Try installing it again, just copy the link from that window to your browser and install it, it should resolve your issue.

Don't use the given link. Instead search for the program on the Microsoft site and install it.

If you look closely its asking you to install different versions each time. SO run the instakker and it will ask you to download something else, do it and repeat the install process and it will ask to install something again. Just keep doing this till it has everything installed that it needs. It is a silly install process but does work.

thats just a crap same here windows explorer worked for the first time.

Note 2 Bootloader Unlock

Hi everyone, I am trying to unlock my bootloader on my Galaxy Note 2 following the guide listed on here but I am having issues when trying to open the jar file to perform the exploit. When I attempt to open the .jar file with Java Runtime Environment it errors right away saying Error: Invalid or Corrupt jarfile and this happens both on a Windows XP machine I have and Windows 7 64-bit machine. I have tried turning off antivirus and firewalls to turn all security off but still get the same error. I have downloaded the file multiple times with no luck. I tried searching but can't find anyone that has run into this error before. Has anyone ever seen this or can point me in the right direction so I can get my bootloader unlocked? Thanks
Did u extract the file?
Even if I try to extract the files I get an error that comes up saying that the file is corrupted? I've downloaded it multiple times so have a hard time believing its corrupted unless the file on the server is having issues?
I used the first method to 'jailbreak'/Unlock bc I hadn't installed the OTA. I had a problem with the SuckITVerizon file, I extracted and tried to load it into Odin but kept saying 'invalid' until I just loaded the RAR file then worked like a charm.
I know my problem was diff but maybe if could help somehow? I would try to update your Java then download the file from a different computer and transfer it over. If nothing else works then try the whole process on another computer.
Have you posted the problem in the unlock thread you are using?
GL
I've seen this problem on a lot of threads. Also experienced it as well. Tried to run Casual on both a 64 bit Win8 and 64 bit Win7 machines. Went to my 32 bit Win7 laptop and had no problem. So you may want to try that.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
If you are using 64 bit OS make sure you have the 64 bit Java installed and not the 32 bit version

I'm also a damn failure at unlocking, but from what i've picked up in all the things i've read, XP won't work.. You need 7,8, or MAC from the sound of it.

Thanks for your answer.
I upgraded from Win 7 to Win 10 and had the same error. This worked for me: Uninstalled VMware Player and VMware VIX from Settings>Programs and REBOOTED my PC. Then ran the two .msi files (Windows Installer Packages) from C:\Program Files\AndyOfflineInstaller46.2\VMW. Remember to REBOOT your PC, and you'll be fine.
i run the setup again inside Program Files\AndyOfflineInstallerxx.x folder
no uninstall nor restart needed for me atleast.
