It works on mine. I'm in USA
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk

Xperia S works perfectly fine in the US. I'm getting HSPA+ as we speak.
Sent from my LT26i using XDA

Can confirm that it also works using 850 HSPA on Telstra in Australia.
I was a bit worried when I ordered the phone due to conflicting information, but all is well!

[Q] Is there a way to set a 3g frequency on Xperia S?

I bought my phone in Europe and it rolls on 850/900/1800/1900 3g frequencies.
Where I live, my carrier uses 850/2100 frequencies. Either way, I get a very unstable 3g signal, maybe because it keeps trying to use the other frequencies.
In Galaxy S i9000, you can use some kind of code to set the 3g frequency preferred, on Xperia S, is there such thing?
Pardon my English.

Nop.
Yeah, already tried that before. It's still unstable.
I don't think you can make it use 2100. Need a different modem for that.

Video/Voice Calls?

Should we be able to do Video Calls to other phones with front camera? I recall some ROMS from SGS to Captivate occasionally having an issue with the Video call button still on the screen. However I don't see any such on these.
I believe att disabled it.

Jerks...disable FM; disable video voice; might as well have deleted the front camera.
I'm sure we'll get a way around it some time.
GSM Arena shows the button on their US review. I thought they were using the ATT Model.

That is ridiculously crappy if carriers are going to block it out. I see where some Canadian carriers are making customers pay extra to use it.
Edit: Me thinks they removed the feature from all US phones so far. Checked the manuals for AT&T, Sprint and T-Mo online just now and none of them mention it. I'm guessing GSM Arena used screen caps from the international model.
Does this have anything to do with it? Don't know what SIP is.

Please see this guide: Link
By flashing mbn file, you can access full functionalities your carrier provided (except Rogers, fido, chatr, cityfone). However, due to band differences, please don't expect full speed 5G internet in Canada on this phone. From my test, Rogers 5G is slower than its LTE on my BC72 (it's not the internet issue because I tested on an iPhone).
I checked online about the band information for the US version of Xperia 1 iii, all the 5G bands in Canada are supported so technically you can have a better experience than me.
