[Q]Edit for Ntelos Showcase - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm only asking for someone to point me at the edits I would need to make on AOKP so I can hook my friends ntelos showcase up. I'm familiar with decompiling and editing with notepad I just need to be pointed in the right direction. Ntelos is small so I know there isn't many folks with them, plenty of CSpire stuff out there though...Anyway thanks to any helpers.

cooking rom

Ok so i have looked and looked and am lost!!! Can someone point me in the right direction on where to find rom cooking info. I have downloaded a kitchen but im not sure what tool to use??? thanks all
Josh
why not go over to DCD's 2.3.0 thread and read his instructions. If you've already unlocked your phone, then it's a simple double click and fill out some checkboxes, then have a coke and a smile.
I'm trying to figure out what each of the checkboxes means. I'm sure this is documented somewhere, but for some reason it's not in the main post. The main post seems to assume that you've already cooked ROMs before. This is my first HTC (although I've done a lot of Palm ROM editing in the past.)
I just recently jumped on the boat from 6700 to Mogul and cooked my first ROM the other day and let me tell you, it's not easy finding straight forward instructions on how to do it but the info is out there... Your not the first to ask this question and I'm sure you won't be the last... I read around the forum for about 3 days and gathered everything I needed to know... The best thing is that you're nearly forced to read some threads from begining to end which provides a lot of great insight to the underground world of Titan Modding...
My advise is to look around, gather all the info you need and then ask specific questions about the update process... People are more willing to give specific advise as opposed to detailing a step by step...
Best of luck...

I would be happy to!!! I've only had the phone a week so it you would be so kind as to walk me though the process of "dumping it to you" I'll be more than happy to as it is very self serving of course! thanks so much for reading my post and offering to help!!

I'm completely new to linux but I'd like to have a go at editing ROMs basically I need someone to give me a complete idiots guide on what i need to download and where to begin.
Any pointers would be great.
Cheers
Please use the search function before posting. You will find the answers to most of your questions that way, as they've often been asked before.

Thanks for the link and I have already searched the forums but I don't want to develop an application and I've already downloaded the SDK. I found This but didn't really understand it. I was hoping someone might be kind enough to walk me through where to begin.
figure it out yourself, it's not teachable ..
Yeah ok...
Thanks for the help
boy i sure am glad that some people were born knowing everything. look markspark i'm in the same boat as you, trying to figure this stuff out but some people decide they would rather be rude, if i knew how to do it i would do my best to point you in the right direction but then again i'm not full of myself.
best of luck to you my friend and if i figure it out i'll make a post on how to build an android rom and then make some youtube videos or something, but like i said i'm not full of myself.

[Q] Regarding Kitchen

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
My name is Alekos
I finally got the kitchen working from dsixda's thread on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246
I'm using Cygwin, and Ofc It works fine, but I was curious to whether I can make my custom rom, is there a guide that I can read and follow along upon creating my custom built rom?
I wish to become a XDA Developer one day
So...can anyone redirect or guide me the way of cooking in the kitchen?
I use a HTC EVO 4G (Supersonic)
It's nand unlocked and rooted.
I want to learn how to make a custom rom but I need someone who has been building/cooking custom roms for Supersonic HTC EVO, and I'll be gladly to donate to anyone who's willing to give me a little guidance help.
Three things I need answers on:
Where is the fun in the kitchen?
Isn't there a guide to cooking roms for EVO?
Is there any other methods or hidden secrets or tricks to cooking?
I am an EVO Phone User, so please give me constructive criticism on my needed assistance.
C'mon no one can tell me where to get started on my custom rom? I've read some interesting threads but I'm curious to see whether I'm doing the right thing or not in the kitchen.
Can you let me know if anyone helps you with this?

The kitchen really is just a time saver. It's still really helpful to dig down and understand what's going on. I've actually learned quite a bit from looking at the scripts in the kitchen.
I don't think there is one "How to cook a ROM guide" yet, but I have actually started making one in my 'spare' time. As I learn things, I add to it. It will eventually get posted.
EDIT: I stand corrected. See this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=697938

[Q] Resources for rooting, etc

I have been looking around xda for a while now trying to find what I am looking for, but with not much luck.
I am a budding programmer and I think its time for me to give back to the community that has helped me so much, from the destre to the, droid INC, the Droid charge and now the HTC rezound.
Where can i go to learn about the rooting process, kernel building, rom building, etc. I have found articles here and there, but nothing really specific enough to start any real work with. if anyone would be willing to take me under their wing and send me to the right place, I would appreciate it
Maybe the unrevoked dev team can point you in the right direction. @unrevoked.
