LTE problem with my Telus i717 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I'm new here.
I just bought a note i717 last week, It's locked with Telus.
I flashed and Rooted with AT&T Stock Rom
Now, my phone is rooted, but LTE logo never show.
4G signal only.
Is that because of the AT&T rom??
Can I flash back to Stock Rom(telus) to get my LTE bacK?

Can someone help and answer my question

Hey! i also have a Telus Note, i think the reason this is, is because LTE does not cover all over edmonton yet on in certain areas, at least that was what i was told by telus!

Did you change the radio, too?

Nope,I didnt change.
Im from Calgary. Before i root the phone, I got LTE most of the time. Now i only have 4g

Hi, I have a telus note as well, i am using it on Bell. Same thing as you, I am getting LTE speeds but only shows 4g. Has something to do with telus software and a non telus sim card. I installed bell software on it and now it show the LTE symbol when i am connected to LTE.

Try my rom and the Rogers modem

Not to state the obvious but you do have LTE enabled under mobile network settings?
Sent from my SGH-I717D using XDA

Are you only getting HSPA speeds, or are you still getting LTE speeds like poster #6. If it is just the icon not showing LTE I wouldn't worry about it. There are plenty of ways - apps, hidden menus - to find out if you are on LTE or not if you must know, but based on surfing performance you'll probably know anyway.

I'm in the same boat, have a Telus note unlocked and using it on Rogers.
Only shows the 4g.
That being said I just did a sped test and got 37mbps down
At first I was concerned, but I know lte works and am not really to worried what shows in status bar.

If you install Saurom RC4 rom with telus modem, the Lte symbol will work when connected to LTE

I'm rooted on my Bell Note with the At&t ROM and I get LTE signal just fine.
Sent from my SGH-I717M using XDA

can one of you screenshot your stock telus rom, kernel and radio settings? I'd like to know if it is different than the ATT stock one.
Thanks!

Is there a stock telus radio (odin or cwm file ) posted yet?! If so, where's the link?

yah Rogers ROM! vive le Canada! Thanks man!
---------- Post added at 10:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:41 PM ----------
btw can anyone give me a link to Rogers radio or modem, the ones I found didn't work. the radio couldn't be flash in CWM and the modem file I found was Bell not rogers. Thanks
Also, I talked to Rogers and they said that there's a 401 sim which is not LTE compatible that's why Im not getting LTE even though I paid for it. I'm guessing it's "the unofficial rom 1.5 emily" which is AT&T and only shows 4g instead of LTE. he said to get 403 sim lte capable which i'll get tmr to see...
does anyone know if I can revert back to i717R for custom ROM that shows i717 model so I can get Rogers live? it says incompatible device, im guess it's because it think im on AT&T (i717) instead of i717R (Rogers) device. I appreciate all the help.

I have a telus note rooted with saurom flashed on it. I dont get the LTE symbol in the status bar and my speeds are 3 MBs or less so Im definitely not getting LTE speeds.
Im also in a location where I know I got LTE speeds before I rooted and flashed
Any suggestions on what to do?

I'm in Calgary also, with bell, which is the same network, and about a week before the galaxy S3 launch, I started getting LTE pretty well everywhere in the city. Before it was just downtown.
They rolled out a **** load of LTE, I am assuming for the S3 launch.
Every custom ROM I've tried so far I've been getting LTE no problem.
EDIT: just noticed this is an old thread. Whoops

one of the things holding me back from loading a custom Tom is modem compatability ... Good to hear that people are doing well on the Bell network up here...
I will still probably wait out an official upgrade from Bell before going with something debloated after the devs get a hold of it.
It is getting harder. ..to wait...Just loaded darkyrom ICS on the galaxy s I handed down to my son when I got the note...It is sweet...I am jealous of my old phone...must resist...temptation...
Bell will release my update ....soon....sigh.

Verizon i605 Note 2 on tmobile network

Hey Everyone,
I've been trying to use my T-Mobile SIM in my Verizon Note 2 with little success. I am using last nights Cyanogenmod nightly. The build does not have an APN menu, but I overwrote the existing one with this one: htt ps://gist.github.c om/429 0254 (Should work right?).
I am able to make and receive calls, and receive texts. I am unable to make texts and connect to any data network. On the About Phone -> Status page, this is what I am given:
Network: T-Mobile
Signal Strength: -120 dBm 99asu
Mobile network type: HSDPA:8
Service State: in service
Mobile network state: Disconnected
My phone number: unknown
MIN: unknown
I just activated my T-Mobile sim 2 days ago, but was informed it should be working. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
ok try this
Firstly you ust be rooted Buy paid version of titainium backup go to market and download global APN and APN manager then go back to titainium backup and touch the APN man. And when it pops up slide finger from right to left and there will be options to convert to system app touch that one ..but nothing else then find global APN and do the same to it then go open the global APN (it will have an android picture maybe dontbworry if bit don't ) after you open it it will ask you too select your country do that then add apns should give you a choice of 5 I think check them all and save it then...Google for T-Mobile apn s and write them down on paper and go to APN manager go to add APN and add them one by one and it will give you the option to swap apns so set it up then when its ready to swap turn of phone and insert sim turn on and go to APN man. And hit swap and the Tmobil apns you added should take effect ... If that Dont work since you added global apns go to settings and approved networks and you should see the apns if not hit menu and choose add APN and then put in the ones you wrote down and reboot and that should do it if not on YouTube search zedomax .. And the video is how to make galaxy note 2a global phone try one of these three things and between the three one should work ..but its iffy if you get 3g2g or edge all could get was edge so try it out and post back to me and I'm not responsablebfor damage although there shouldbnotnbe any ..hope this can help you out bro :good:

Thanks for the help! Any time I use an APN app I get an error that says " Unfortunately, Global APN has stopped" Or "Unfortunately, APN Manager Pro has stopped"
Have you looked at the APN thread in development? You should only need to put the new APN data into /system/etc/apns-conf.xml. It is possible that you won't get good data speeds though, as the VZW Note 2 doesn't support T-Mobile's main frequencies.

I also have flashed the APN zip that allows you to manually add APN's. If you know a T-Mo APN, you could try adding it that way as well.
Please post your results, I'm very interested in finding out how this goes for you. :good:

Thanks for all the help guys. I had encrypted my device to get on my work email and it turns out that it was screwing some things up. I flashed back to stock firmware, installed the apn manager and added the correct tmobile apn. Everything seems to work now. I'm on Edge network now, but for a brief moment I was put on a HSDPA and had 3g. Not sure why I can't get back on it. Running stock firmware right now, not sure if it makes a difference or not.

Thanks,
I had to flash back to stock because of an issue I was having with encryption turned on. It wouldn't let me add any apns. I used your apn xml file on the stock firmware and it seems to work great. Although your samsung application to remove the annoying non-verizon SIM is not working. I moved it to the /systems/apps folder and overwrote the existing apk. Was there anything else I had to do?
I'm getting 2g speeds. I was on a HSDPA network at one point and got good speeds, but I can't seem to get back on it. Should my Network mode be Global or GSM/UMTS?
EDIT: I'm on HSDPA:9 now. I was on HSPAP:15 for a second. Most of the time, I'm on EDGE:2

Everything seems to be working great now. I don't believe I have very good coverage of the 3G/4G on the 1900mhz band yet because I seem to always be on the edge network (Albany, NY). T-Mobile is expanding the band though around the nation so it can support iphones. I am hopeful that it will be in my area soon. Here is a map of where the 1900mhz band has been spotted: htt p://ww w.airportal.de/ (down today for some reason).
I really didn't do anything that wasn't already posted in the forums. A t-mobile SIM card should work after the bootloader has been unlocked (jailbroken) and the APN has been added (Using stock ROM). The t-mobile version of the note 2 will probably get better speeds because it supports the 1700mhz and 1900mhz bands while the Verizon version only supports 1900, but supports every other band on tmobiles network. It is also my understanding the tmobile will have 1900mhz coverage in every place that has 1700mhz coverage. I could be wrong though.

Is there any reason in particular that you're using the stock SCH-I605 ROM? I'm curious if this would work for CleanROM....
Also, a few other quick questions:
1. Which method did you use to add APNs? (Flash the zip file? .xml?)
2. Where did you get the T-Mo SIM and how did you get it "activated" ?
Thanks! :highfive:

I never really gave the stock firm a chance before. I wanted to try it out before going with Cyanogenmod. I like the samsung tools (multi-window, s-note) and everything is running smooth right now. I will probably flash to cyanogenmod later though. I'm pretty sure it will work on other roms. Not sure why it wouldn't. I think my issue before was that I had the device encrypted and it wouldn't take my changed apn.
1. I manually overwrote the APN file in /system/etc/. I found that it was the easiest method. The flashable apn setting did not work for me until I added this apn file.
2. T-Mobile is running a special on their activation kit right now. You can get a free micro sim delivered to your door. After that, you can just activate everything online.

No you do not. You become a customer of course when you activate it. Here is the link to get them:
http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-phones/prepaid-sim-cards
Here is the APN file I used: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35369426&postcount=3
After you overwrite the existing APN file and restart your phone, you can use this flashable mod: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35368049&postcount=2 and it will display your APN information in Settings -> More Settings -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names or you can use APN Manager Pro (I had issues with APN Global) to select the T-Mobile US APN.

I'm actually trying out both t-mobile and the phone. I got tired of paying for Verizon so I transfered my number to tmobile (which was free). My brother bought the note 2, but he's currently using his old phone and I'm trying out his new one. I will probably buy myself one, but I'm not sure if I would get the tmobile one or the Verizon one.
I got the $30 a month unlimited data and text. It only includes 100 minutes talk. I don't use minutes too much, but if I was in danger of going over, I could always use the app sipdroid which will make calls using my google voice number over my data connection.
No problem. This forum has been a tremendous help to me so I will provide any information I can in return.
Has anyone had any luck getting anything other than Edge on tmobile? I was using my Verizon N2 on Net10 with an at&t micro sim. It worked great and I stayed connected to the hspa network. I live in Memphis and had tmobile in the past so I know coverage is no issue here. So I decided to try it out thinking I'd still get decent speeds. No luck. I think I've just wasted $60. I've tried several different apns. Called tmobile tech support and still nothing. Even tmobile told me I should have better than edge but nothing they could do either. I've tried beans and clean rom. I previously had a DNA using it with the net10/att but I had to use a certain rom or it just wouldn't work. I know it has capabilities to run on a faster tmobile frequency right or did I misread that somewhere? Is there something else I need to do to unlock that capability? I'm rooted/unlocked and running beans. I didn't want to start a new thread asking so hopefully someone sees this and can help. If I'm stuck on edge I definitely will be going back to net10 service.

the towers around your area have to be running on the newer 1900mhz spectrum or the hspa wont work.

Hello everyone currently have the I605 and having problems keeping full signal (i mean the "No Service" icon) using a carrier call Solavei which runs off of T-Mobile's network... I have the correct apn settings, unlocked bootloader, rooted and running Liquid Rom. But no issues when I put my Verizon sim in...
is anyone else having these issues using other tmo networked carrier?
i605 on tmobile how to
Install jedi x2 rom (4.3)
choose tmobile as carrier
flash agni kernal.
flash googlehome.apk launcher
good to go. no issues whatsoever.

Tmobile lte

Hello I want some one who has a LGOG and t mobile to do a small trick on there phone for me plz. 1st turn on air plane mode then go into secret menu by dialing 3845#*970# then go to lte only>modem setting>lte band selection>lte only, now exit the secret menu then turn air plane mode off and plz tell me if you can pick up lte now? I have done this trick on my phone and it seems to work, but make sure to set it back to automatic in the secret menu or else u wont be able to get calls or make calls, and when u do this it should still be on lte network, depending on it location(if it has lte that is), and if u do get a phone call does the lte come back after the phone call ends? Because for me it doesn't. Thx

Ya that first trick does fail sometimes but it does work after u do this. For this u need a second phone, it can be any phone that works on tmobile network. All u do is take it sim card and put it into that phone and try to open a web page or Anything that makes the phone use data. Then take out the sim card and put it into it LGOG,but make sure it LG is in lte mode only!!! Because if it's not it well start on 4g but when it's in lte mode only it well start on lte, after that u can change it back to automatic or else u won't be able to get phone calls, thx see I have lte but it doesn't last cause if u make phone call or get a.phone call it well disappear
I have 2 phones I know this works with one is a old school flip phone from Samsung and the other is a.iPhone 4s. Thx

Thx

That's interesting. I hope LTE can stick, otherwise, it's meaningless.
It doesn't if u make a phone call or get one it goes away but u can fructose get it back with the first trick I posted at the top with the air plane mode, but it won't work 100% of the time, was hoping some one can look at this in more detailed level.

There is a build prop edit for nexus 4 which gives them LTE . I was wondering if any one try it yet on OG

No I am on att, just trying to share something I stumbled across. From what I read the build prop was needed because N4 didn't come with LTE.

LTE
Hello, i have a theory on why the phone LGOG dosent pick up LTE on t mobile. The 2nd trick i provieded in post #4 kind of works but it wont last unless u leave ur phone on LTE mode which is bad if ur expecting a phone call or trying to make one because LTE dosent have voip, so it goes back to 4g, but it wont go back to LTE on its own sadly.
In the trick i provided with the moving of ur sim into a t mobile supported phone, i belive it sets the sim card onto the t mobile network, and when u move that sim card back into an LGOG it keeps that same network that it was on, but if the LGOG trys to register its self on the network the network sets it back to 4G because i belive the 4g network on the 1900 band seems to have higher priority on the phone then the LTE AWS band (1700/2100). This seems true for all AT&T phones.
As i said this is just my thory on why it dosent work for most people. some people seem to be able to pick up LTE with no problem. I even bought an HTC one X+ to see if i can get LTE on that but nope it didnt work eather, most likely because of the same problem, it has the 1900 band which tmobile set up for 4g, for iphone users.
ALSO can some one please teach me how to flash the .33 radio from nexus 4 onto the LGOG so i can see if that gives us LTE, thx.
I guess I'll give it a whirl as soon as I update the radio
dont bother with the radio if ur on t mobile the radio dosent seem to pick up the network operators. i tryed it yesterday.

By going into the APN and manually adding MetroPCS I was able to get LTE.
I used these settings.
hit the + sign in the upper right corner, enter these settings.
Name - MetroPCS LTE
APN- fast.metropcs.com
MMSC- http://metropcs.mmsmvno.com/mms/wapenc
This T-Mobile APN also seems to work.

than click the three dots in the upper right corner select save.. You should now have LTE on Metro. :good:
Another thing I suggest to do is when on your stock ROM go to your APN , copy the info from the APN setting that your stock is using. Than when you are on a custom ROM us that APN setting.

You can use T-Mobile LTE APN settings on metro phones we have 90% gsm phones that use T-Mobile LTE
Since there merged with tmobile only a few phones are using the orange CDMA cards .
I ran T-Mobile APN fine on my metro s4 m919nand metro s3
There's no difference from fast.tmobile.com or fast.metropcs.com
The issue apparently is within using the apn settings that are pre configured upon the first boot up
I'm on cm11,that worked right away .
Anyways thanks for the info .

For the life of me I can't get LTE (I tried all these cm based roms - pa, cm11, slimkat, beanstalk, etc., same thing). I can't get a data signal in LTE network Mode. I tried all methods from this (and other) threads.
I get hspa+ when I change the network mode to 3G (15mbps down, 2mbps up). But in LTE mode I can't get a data signal under any circumstance.
I tried fast.metropcs.com, fast .t-mobile.com, other available APNs, I went into network setup and searched automatically, and also tried manually selecting every available network, nothing gets me LTE. I even used secret code *#*#4636#*#* to get into network mode that way to try to make changes but to no avail. I tried all available options (including Unknown). I turned the radio off and back on, etc.. I can only get G, Edge, and 3G, but no LTE.
Even though 3G is not really slow, I had the GT- i9200 (international version Mega) and bought the SGH-M819N specifically to get LTE.
My lack of getting LTE data is the only thing that's keeping me from using the CM-based roms. Been trying to get LTE on them for a couple weeks now. If I settle for 3G, then I'm not getting the benefit of why I actually bought the SGH-M819N (specifically for the LTE). So, as such, I keep going back to my stock touchwiz rom backup. This is the only way, so far, that I've been able to get LTE. Am I missing something?

I'm not sure what to tell you. I haven't had issues getting lte or data on my phone. When I didn't get LTE I just manually input the APN and it worked. Maybe your area just stinks with LTE. Sorry. Maybe Metro had something changed with the phone since I bought mine.

what ROM are you using? if you are on stock ROM make sure you have Mobile data checked. you'll find that under (More Networks) than go to (Mobile networks)
At home on the stock rom, I get 30mbps down and 15bps up. then I flash one of the CM based roms and can't get a data signal at all. I immediately flash back to my stock rom and I'm back to 30mbps down and 15mbps up. So I think I'm definitely in a good LTE area. Unexplained phenomenon. Lol.
It kinda hurts because I really want to use a CM based rom especially now that we have an overclocked kernel for the KitKat custom CM roms. Oh well....

Try installing a different custom recovery....after that try installing it and let me know if there are any problems
I too am having the same issue where I cannot get data. After installing PA, the APN settings are the same for MetroPCS LTE from the stock rom. However that doesn't work. I deleted all the APN listings and started from scratch. Typed in the fast.metropcs.com APN information and it was a no go. Then I tried the T-mobile one and could only get 3G. I figured I may have typed something wrong with the Metro info, so I deleted both and now no matter which one I use, I can't get 3g data anymore. PA was running so smooth that I almost decided to leave the 3g connection. But knowing how fast LTE was, I had to revert back to Touchwiz in the end.
MetroPCS LTE Data
To access LTE Data APN protocol needs to be set to IPv6. This works for both the MetroPCS and T-Mobile APNs.
This is confirmed to work in South Florida with CM, Carbon, and Slimkat roms. LTE will connect in about 30 seconds after changing the APN protocol.

I gave this a try on yesterday. I reinstalled the latest 20140310 cm11 rom and the 2-27 standard gapps, set the APN protocol to IPv6. Did this for both the metroPCS and T-Mobile APNs but neither got me LTE. Waited for probably a few minutes to see if it would eventually connect but got nothing.
I continue to only get hspa+ data (when I change the network mode to 3g). When the network mode is set to LTE I get no data under any circumstance with any of the AOSP based roms. It's very strange. especially since others are getting LTE with no problems. A few of us are just not getting anywhere.
So I restored my the stock rom nandroid backup. Of course, LTE on the stock rom works perfectly.

I know this question was not to me but, as one having problems getting LTE data (you can refer to some of my previous posts), I tried both the TWRP with kitkat support and Philz touch recovery CWM. Seems I tried everything everybody recommended without success. I won't reiterate it but if you go up a few posts you will see the various things I tried. Nothing seems to work for me. I only get LTE with the stock ROM.
By the way, I've been trying to get LTE on an AOSP based ROM going back to the beginning of the year (refer to my post dated January 5th on this thread). I'll add that I installed both the TWRP with kitkat support and philz touch (cwm) recovery (which also has kitkat support).

Verizon I-545 with T-mobile sim Q&A

I know this has been addressed a few times, but with the new radio's and T-mobile running on LTE bands I feel it can be addressed again.
I have been running a T-Mobile sim in my Verizon S4 for about 9 months now having 90% functionality of T-Mobile apps and after 4.3 using LTE with a few MMS hiccups that seem to have been ironed out.I have ran just about every ROM available here on XDA, and even attempted to write my own Rom a couple times with limited success. And every ROM I have ran was written for Verizon, I just changed the APN settings, and sometimes had to flash some other items to get them working 100%.
I have a few things I am working on trying to "fix" such as Hotspot and a few T-Mobile only apps. I have convinced my phone it is a SGH-M919 changing a lot of info in the build prop, which allows me to use the T-Mobile TV app. But being a trial and error kinda guy I don't know how much of my editing was necessary, or if I actually needed to change more to allow me to use the hot-spot app. I have bricked my phone to many times to count trying out Radio's and changing setting in the ROMs trying to make my I545 more a T-Mobile phone than a Verizon phone.
I have seen alot of "ports" such as the 4.4.2 GE that I am currently running ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2643031 ). The first release I had amazing signal and no connection issues. But after the DEV (Danvdh) plucked away at it making it work better for Verizon and fixing a lot of Verizon data issues has started to have a couple signal issues here and there. Nothing that I would say broke the connection but definitely slowed a few things for me down.
Same for the INT build ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552605 ) from jrkruze it works amazing then started to slowly after updates not work as well as it did from his first release. The ROM got better but my "connection" got worse.
So on to my question:
What is being changed in the ROMs that make them better for Verizon? I know that I am part of a small majority of people here running a SIM and a network that it was never supposed to run on, but it does work and I would like to make it work as best as it can. I know I can go back and use the older versions of the ROMs but I like the other changes and I like being able to update.

The AWS spectrum was unlocked for the i545 a few updates ago. Since TMobile LTE runs on the AWS band, a Verizon S4/i545 is capable of running TMobile LTE
AWS was unlocked with the MJ7 modem.
I get 29Mbps down 6.5 up defenitly not H+ the whole Seattle area is AWS so I am loving it. That combined with T-mobiles truly unlimited data I torrent on the go!

Gs5 from t-mobile on att

How or where do I unlock one of these phone to use it on att network .. I'm on California .... help please .. the from from att has the lock s*****
Buy the phone from T-Mobile, unlock it via on of the reliable online unlocking services, unlock the phone. If you have an existing AT&T account with LTE, its easy as slipping in the sim. If not, its a little trickier, AT&T will generally restrict non-AT&T phones to 3G/4G --> No LTE. If you are activating a new account, you will need to provide them an IMEI from an AT&T branded phone with LTE, they will then provision your account for LTE service. Some people use a fiends old AT&T LTE phone, or from another source.

I have a TMOBILE S5 - I didnt' want to wait for the "Free way" of unlocking a sim card so I purchased the code form a web site that offers this - there may be a free way to do this sometime soon - but I didn;t have the patience to wait - do a GOOGLE SEARCH - you'll find several that offer this service.
I have no restrictions on my phone - 3G/4G/LTE - awesome speeds on ATT LTE network - =
If you have an existing AT&T account, its easy. The trickier part is if you are a new customer, the T-Mobile S5 IMEI wont be registered in their database as an LTE device, so it will default to non-LTE speeds.
Some people have had success with really helpful non-corporate AT&T stores at adding the non AT&T branded phone into the database, but most won't and so you need to get creative. You'd probably have better luck convincing an independent dealer to do this, like a mall kiosk etc. as they will want the commission from the activation. Some people have had luck using the IMEI from a demo phone at the store (Can be from any LTE device), or a friends old device etc.
The key is that it needs to be an AT&T branded LTE phone so your account can be correctly provisioned with LTE, otherwise you will be stuck in 4G land. Another way you can do it is also to call in later and switch the IMEI to an AT&T LTE device, get the account provisioned and then put the sim in the T-Mobile S5.

That's not true, it does register as an LTE device. i gave them my IMEI off the T-mobile Galaxy S5 and they added it to the biller, and then asked them what does it show up as in the biller, they read it off as a Samsung SM-G900T. not a Samsung SM-G900A. Heck, even my Nexus 5 shows up as it should as a LG D820, which is the model.
Well just to let everyone know. I bought an unlock code from unlockfusion and 48 hours later it still hasn't arrived but I bought one from cellunlocker.net and my phone is now unlocked
Sent from my SM-G900T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yes, if they add your IMEI into their system, you are fine. Many stores and CSR's will not do this however, in which case you need to figure out a workaround. Stores are paid a higher commission for selling and activating a branded phone that they are for an unlocked off network device.

and I'm kinda surprised, BYOD is a very big thing right now. possibly just some shady reps or stores, CSR's should be able to do it with no issues.
T-Mobile S5
For this that are using the T-Mobile S5 on AT&T. Sounds like LTE and everything is working well. My question is, for this who have rooted and using different roms. Have you seen the lag go away? Is the phone a better experience. I love my M8 but I just love the thinner feel of the S5 but I cannot live without root and roms. Please help before I drop $650. LOL

Those using T-Mobile's S5 on AT&T, can you comment on reception, preferably LTE?

There is virtually no difference from my old SM-G900A to my new SM-G900T. I'm using a custom ROM (see signature) with zero reception issues. My LTE is 24Mbps down and 11Mbps up. That's out in the boonies where I work, it's usually better at home.

I pulled 25mbps down and 14mbps up in Knoxville TN. If you are in a weak signal area it does seem to drop signal a little more frequently.
