I have stock EVO 3D GSM version - bought in Bulgaria from Mtel.
Android version: 2.3.4
HTC Sense: 3.0
Software number: 1.20.401.8
Kernel version: 2.6.35.13-g47321df
I think that my WIFI power is not enough - my friends with other phones have better signal
Also my battery life is low, suggest me which is the best ROM for my needs, and give me all needed files and steps to install it

i have heared that CYANOGEN have good battery life for other phones, but i see that it have camera and 3d bugs... so maybe its not good

Wow. What a comforting environment. Yeah, you should've posted in the Q&A section, but that's no reason to be treated like ****. As for my response, you should try out a couple roms to see what suits you. You may get better wifi and such, but lack in other features.
But ultimately, for better battery life, you're looking for a rom with a lower clock speed.

What everyone is trying to say is, we get a thread like yours every few days of someone asking what's the best ROM/kernel..blah. Yes we can help you, but you need to help yourself first. Within the development section, the ROM thread original post contains the bugs and features list, so you can quickly see. If you're worried about wifi/battery life... read through the thread as I'm sure plenty of people have posted about that for that specific rom.

Hello, I worked in the past with The OG Droid, HTC Incredible, HTC Thunderbolt in a Team environment and solo. I began my work with Kernels and later moved on to work with JRummy and N8Dyddy in Lithuimmod. That was back in the day "ha". Altough the last kernel work I did publicly was with the HTC Thunderbolt I have continued to follow the world of Android very closely.
Today I am inviting all Kernel and Theme developers to post their work in my new app that will soon be released to the Market. The app will be a centralized location for just Themes and Kernels to be downloaded and brief info about the work. I know time is valuable, my intent is to cut down the time to find the latest and greatest, offering these hard working developers another channel for their work to shine, not taking away from this wonderful forum of course. I enjoy the forums and only truly enjoy them when I am home from work with a drink and can take in all the info.
I look forward to hearing from all .Thank you and it feels good to be back.

Device,Build info and any other relevant information.

Something i fail to understand is the reason why people feel so obligated to point out the fact that someone made a post in the wrong section, your *****ing shouldn't be in the development section...

I am laughing my ass off! but hey this idea... it could help, but wait its posted in the wrong place!!!!!
This idea has major pros and cons. The cons are that it will in fact ttake away from development sites and it will also take away from devs being able to provide good support for their work... if everybody got a kernel or rom from a third party it would only do one thing - cause people who don't know what they are doing to A.) Not read about the stuff they are flashing to their phone, and B.) Pollute forums with useless threads about something not working properly.
It takes away from the dev distributing his work in a way that clearly states potential problems and instruction on how exactly to apply his work to their device for an optimal bug free experience. The only thing this does that is a positive is help a dev get his work out. But personally I think this site and the devs site will do a good enough job of that.

Basically what I am saying is people need to read and follow closely what is and has been going on with the software they are flashing to their phones. It is important because the could easily break something and cause irreversible damage to the phone.
Personally I think cobra makes some valid points but it's the forum moderators job to move threads.

Can anyone explain why the CDMA version of our phones has more ROMS to choose from??
Is it much a matter of it being more popular?
The Warm Rom for the CDMA, is one of the nicest looking Roms ive seen, how much work is it to port it over to GSM?
If I am not mistaken, the CDMA version was released earlier than the GSM version, therefore development started earlier. Also, until recently (sometime in september) HTC finally released the code for their Kernel for the GSM version so developers can play around with. In regards to porting CDMA to GSM, im sure there is lots of technical reasons. As an example, we are eagerly waiting for the guys at MIUI (Scott) to finish making a stable/working version for us. Im sure once that one is finished, we will have an AOSP Kernel which will allow other developers to port more ROMs over here (hopefully)
gsm and cdma veraion has any diffence, so u think it'll take a long time for dev , so now MIUI rom has in project, just wait
I might be incorrect in saying this, but aren't the phones sold by Sprint in the USA running on CDMA? This might account for the high number of CDMA phones out there, and therefore more ROM development for them?
All the American 3Ds are on Sprint and are CDMA. Sprint sells a lot of phone. the rest of the world sells the GSM version, and will someday pass the Americans in units sold and ROM numbers will ****.

Questions go in q and a. No other reasons.
But as for your question. Simply because a lot of devs had the EVO 4G which is a cdma phone. Hence once the EVO 3s came out a lot of them got it.
Hence why there are a lot more devs on the cdma version and hence why us gsm users don't get as many Roms

Just picked up a HTC Amaze 4G from someone off Kijiji. They had the phone with Telus, I unlocked it and I am with Mobilicity now.
I want to install the latest Android 4.0 ROM, default, no Sense, no nothing. Vanilla I belive it's called. Where do I start? What's the best. I came from a HTC Desire, so it's been many changes between these phones.

First things first, if you're looking for a starting point, it lays in your desktop computer. You will have to compile the code yourself or wait patiently. If you read the COUNTLESS threads about 3.6/4.0 and AOSP in the Amaze forums, you will see that what you're looking for doesn't exist

This really isn't an opinion question.... I mean, it would kind of be IF there were 4.0 for the Amaze, but it's not... It's a question asking where to start when installing a ROM that doesn't exist.

Ok fair enough... No need to apologize. Nobody is in the wrong, and this happens all the time. Just trying to help.
There are those ppl too who don't use search engines often so may not be an "expert" at searching. For future reference though, this Amaze community is relatively small, and most of us have had almost every possible problem to date. The General forum, and Development forums have a nice amount of threads covering multiple issues (some redundant). U can usually find your answer with a brief glance at thread topics. Sorry if I came off Luke a jerk, I actually thought my first post was rather clever... Didn't mean to be offensive

MODS: Can we get ONE of the threads PURELY for ICS info posts, and just lock all the others? It is pointlessly taking up forum space now on this stuff.
When its there we will all know it, until then just keep waiting or run a custom rom with ICS an lose the 3D and camera until official ICS is released.

Ugh if I feel like it I'll try and create a main thread for ICS stuff like I did for the EVO 4G LTE...
too many of these threads pop up all over the place and we did have a few that were actually useful but seems as time goes on everyone wants to post a new thread on it now...

The problem is with each ICS thread the OP isn't updated over time to show the latest rumors/news...most are just made and left...hence the multiple threads...
If done it'd be with pstevep permission like the EVO thread I did. Makes it easier for the actual forum mod as they can just lock/delete the new threads created and direct people to the one...
Look I don't care honestly. Was just a suggestion that'd make it possibly easier to follow...

i have Htc Evo 3d gsm with stock rooted rom "EU_Shooter_U-1.20.401.8_ROOTED.zip", s-off via htcdev and cm v 5.0.2.0 revolutionary. today i received ics via ota, but when i try to install zip manual from recovery i received this error:
assert failed: check_cid(getprop( "ro.cid" ),"00000000"..... (Status 7).
How can i install now official ics?

You need to turn back to original state. So original firmware, kernel and recovery.
So flash ruu.exe of gingerbread and then update to ics.

I don't know why people just don't follow the rules. I don't think people even read the rules.
I can say this. I've been a member since 2007 and this has always been a problem.
The zero tolerance policy is a good one. Repeat offenders will just be banned from posting on these forums. Its the only way to get a handle on this.

Nope, doesn't bother me at all, if its not what I'm looking for, il save my self the effort, and the dignity and just look past it onto what I am looking for

Yes people post in the wrong sections but flaming at them is a case of 'two wrongs don't make a right', there are better ways of telling people what to do apart from being condescending about it....It's not like the people flaming are paying for the hosting space or their servers are being clogged up....so just keep calm and carry on to a different thread

To get back to the original question, I suggest you keep your root and S-off and just have patience until one of the awesome devs posts a custom rom based on the new ota.
