[Q] No artist information - MediaFix doesn't work - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys! My Galaxy S2 won't show the artists on most of my songs on my phone. I've read a bit about it, and it seems most people have got it working using the MediaFix-app. However, that app doesn't really work for me, as it "MediaFix was unable to update MediaStore with track information".
What to do?
Thanks in advance.

Try one of the many tag editors etc on the market .
Problems with a market app contact the developer .

Manual tag-editors for 20 gb of music, seems like a lot of work, though.. But thanks, anyways.

Does anyone know anything?
Or any news since ICS-update?

[Q] (SE LiveView) Is it possible to read .txt files?

Hi guys, I've done a lot of research during these days, and I've found a miscellaneous heap of plug-ins, but astonishingly I've found none that actually enables me to read a .txt/.doc/whatever text file.
Isn't that odd? Do you know any?
Thanks
+1
I was using Gmail plugin for that but it has character limit that makes it unusable for longer txt.
Not sure I understand what's the point?
Isn't the very teeny display a horrible way to read anything?
It's not like I would use it as ereader, but I figured out that it could be very useful in tests and whatsoever..
solution
After hours of research and many tries to find se liveview plugin suitable for my needs there it is. Was not working until today for me, fortunately dev updated it to new version. Google play store com.sonyericsson.extras.liveview.plugins.txtliveview OR just search for liveview txt.
Plugin is paid - but in my country price can be compared to cost of 1 beer.
Working on my sgs2 with Ics Turkbey v9 rom.
I hope somebody will find it useful.
By the way if you got reconnect problem with your LV device try also app "Liveview Charm ".
I've found it too, but I can't pay for apps in my country cause I don't have any credit card.
Can you please respond on PM?

[Q] I can't play any music. [**SOLVED**]

First, I would like my first post to include a THANK YOU to all of developers. Without you guys, my phone would be as boring as sober missionary with the lights off. So once again, thank you guys.
Now onto my problem...
I have tried about 6 or 7 of the ROMs listed here in the development forums. I enjoy each one for different reasons. Today I tried [ROM][CM9HYBRID] PARANOIDANDROID UNOFFICIAL June 25th *Hammer time!! and fell in love. This is the ROM that I would love to use as a daily driver. However, I have a major problem that I don't know how to fix.
Whenever I try to play music from any music player, I get a "cannot play file type" message. The file type is mp3. I have been running, like I said earlier, 6 or 7 ROMs throughout the week and have noticed that if it isn't based off of TW, I have the same problem with the other ROMs.
I'm really a noob when it comes to things like this so I followed the noob rules and looked for an hour for an answer to my question before eventually creating this topic. I'm sure the answer is simple to some, but I'm totally lost as to what to do to get mp3 playback functionality with this ROM. Is it a codec to download? I just don't know. Thanks in advance.
And the problem was transferring the files over to my phone using airdroid. I don't know why this caused a problem but once I connected a cable and moved them over, it works. Thought I would post my solution just in case someone runs into the same issue.

glad you found out, these tipe of errors are allways file related

OP would you please edit your thread title to say "Solved" ?
Other reasons files don't play is where you purchased them from. iTunes-bought files have DRM protection so they only play on iTunes authorized machines.

Media Hub on ICS?

Upgraded to task's ICS a few weeks ago. Could have sworn Media Hub was on there when I first installed it. Then it seems about a week ago that I was missing an app because the others were not in the same place they used to be, as if I hadn't deleted an app and everything moved over one spot. Problem is, I don't remember deleting anything. Granted, I'm not always SOBER when I'm using my Tab so I guess it's possible. All I can find through search is that you needed to be updated to ICS in order to use Media Hub after that. I was already on ICS so I don't understand what happened? Could Samsung or Google have had it removed from my Tab somehow? Any help would be appreciated, Samsung live chat is of NO help. Shocker.
And according to Samsung, the "Samsung Media Hub" app is not a "Samsung" app, I need to contact the developer! lol Their only solution is to reset my tab. Yeah right.
Gotta love customer service these days. Thought I'd share this clip from Samsung live chat.
Tony: I just find it weird to have an app that is preloaded, yet you can't delete it, and you can't download it either.
Parkin: I understand your concern. I have documented your issue and we will get back to you with proper resolution. Please make a note of the ticket number ************
Parkin: Just to inform you, a preloaded app need not be downloaded as it is already available in the tab..
Tony: So why have the app in the Google Play Store, if nobody can download it?
Parkin: That is meant for people who don't have it preloaded.
Tony: why would someone not have it preloaded, if it comes preloaded?
Tony: because you certainly can't delete it
Parkin: I understand your confusion. But one of our supervisors would be able to clarify any further questions you have. Please mention the ticket ID given above when we contact you.
Tony: You seem to be the confused one because you have no answer.
Parkin: I'm truly sorry I couldn't help you with this issue. Is there anything else I can help you with?
Tony: nope
Ahhhhhh.... I really hope someone can be able to help me with this. Fingers crossed!

Error: File size is big

Hi..
I have recorded a video which i tried to send through Whatsapp but i couldn't because the size is big. Is there any APP that would re-size it or like send it into more than one file (partition it)?

Hi. It is really sad, you know, that such phone like I9300 is so popular. Why? Because it is given as the Christmas gift, Frist Confession, Hanukkah and plenty other occasions to the peoples who:
1. Are too lazy to find easiest solutions by themselves
2. Are too pathetic to recognize even that this is NOT I9300 specific question, but generic Android one
This is XDA forum, you know... in theory, developers, troubleshooting of the mess created by unusual actions like overclocking, customizations etc.
But, OK, if your mom in at work, your nanny is busy with her boyfriend, let me help you.

I am truly sad that you had to trouble your hand in writing all of what you wrote.
I have already used Google and found several app's but it wasn't what i wanted exactly that's why i asked. I am not very sure why ur sad to help someone who of course ha looked and searched before asking!
The form and this section is for people to ask, so why you are sad again?

Video Editor on the Play store is my only suggestion .Or take the video to PC and cut it .
As you say Google search found nothing suitable i wont mention any of the apps found .

Well, I'm guessing that you bought this phone new, and as a result you have 50gb of free Dropbox storage.
Why don't you upload whatever video you want on your Dropbox account and then send the public link to who ever it is that you wanted to send it to?
All of this can be done directly though the phone, so it shouldn't be so much of a hassle.
In the even that you got this phone off the second hand market, you have (AFAIK) 5gb of free storage on Google Drive, which is also hooked automatically to your Gmail account, so you could also use that.
Just trying to be helpful, good luck on your Android adventure.

Call Blocker For Non-Rooted Phone Running Android 9.0

Hi,
I'm sure that it's probably due to the election but lately I've been getting unwanted call's from #'s that I don't recognize. There are so many call blocking app's on the play store that at least for me it's rather mind boggling to even look in there. I did perform a search here in the forum's and didn't seem to discover any real recent application's. I did find this one that's open source & seems to be updated pretty regularly: https://f-droid.org/packages/dummydomain.yetanothercallblocker/ . If anyone knows of any other app. that is worth considering please post it here in the forum's. I'm currently using this app that I did get in the play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mglab.scm&hl=en_US&gl=US .
Thanks In Advance For Any Suggestion's !
David
