How do I disable the notification alert while on a call? I don't want people on the other side to know when I receive text messages.
Go to Settings> Call> Call Alerts. Uncheck Alerts
Don't forget to hit the Thanks button for my time & assistance please.

I want to disable the user on the other end from hearing that I revived a message. I still want my own alerts

I don't think the person on the other end of the call can hear your notification sounds. Do you know for a fact they can hear it?
Just remove vibrations from your notification settings and use a simple notification ringtone such as Facebook pop. That will make it impossible for them to hear your new message notifications.

Hey,
I like stock SMS app but one thing is a bit annoying - I like to have SMS delivery reports but I'd like to set for it other sound or mute it...
I set SMS sound, but I'd like to mute notification (SMS delivery) tone. As far I know I am not able to do this? Any hack perhaps?
Other SMS apps like Go SMS, Handcent I do not like, so they aren't being taken into consideration

Wha? This isn't hard... Open Messaging app, Menu > Settings, scroll to the bottom.
I wrote it would change SMS tone too which is pointless ;]

You either ignored or didn't understand what the OP asked for.

Yeah, I missed the part where he was specifically asking about just the delivery notification tone. Sorry OP.
I am on the latest UHLPS rom.
The balance popup after I send a text message gives me a notification tone, which is very annoying.
In earlier versions this did not happen.
Can anyone help me in this?

Thanks.
I already checked it out.
But I am not looking for this.
This app disables the ussd popups.
But I dont want to disable the popup, instead I just dont want notification tone or vibration when it pops up.
Anyways, thanks for the concern
Hey,
just mute the phone
if you still want other sounds just mute |sounds-notifications-mute| and put |notification vibration level bar to "no vibration"| :good:
So my mom and I both got ourselves an S3 and she keeps complaining about the notification sounds.
Basically there's the ringtone, and then there's notification sounds for EVERYTHING including SMS. What she wants is to have a tone for SMS and another for calls, and the rest of the notifications silent (mail, facebook etc.)
I couldn't find an option to separate sms tones from the rest, so I'm at a loss.
I hope you can help me, as google proved to be utterly useless in this case
edit: A fix that does not include going into each app and making it silent. She has no patience.. at all.

You could use Go SMS, and set up the sms notification on there. Then make the default notification for everything else to be silent in the system sound settings. Works for me.

I did consider that, but the lack of patience and hate for something that's different (She's a former apple user -.-) might get in the way. I'll ask her though. Thanks ^^
Even better, as Go SMS has an iphone theme which will make it look just like what she's used to!

To have a separate alert tone for each you need to set the tone from inside the app itself, I.e open up your sms message app press menu key press settings scroll to the bottom where it says notifications and simply alter it from there. Hope I've helped you.

So my question is,

If the app is only in beta, the developers will probably add notifications in future versiones (if it's so important).
If you want to do it by yourself, you will have to modify the apk file.

Yes. A little more than sound. A ringtone that can wake me up if the danger comes...

Search in app's settings if there are some notifications options to enable sound. When you had enabled sound, you will just have to change the notification ringtone by downloading one, placing it into Notifications folder and switching to it in Settings.

Well, thats a good idea. It's a very poor app, i didn't think it would have, but i found an option to enable sound, thanks for that!
But if I switch notification sound to a ringtone, every time i get push notification (from other apps) it will sing for me? No way to specify that just for this app the phone need to use that music?

I don't think that you can select one ringtone just for this app. It will change the notification's ringtone for all apps

I thought j had the sounds set to give a different alert for text and email but now I realize there's no option to differentiate. Has anyone found a way to make this work?

You can change SMS sound in sound settings don't know about email
All I can see is where to change notification sound, but no way to choose which notification.

Hello, if you want to receive a different sound notification for your mail, do it directly in the Gmail application settings, it is the only way I could do it, I hope it will be useful
