Stock Bookmarks to Google Chrome for Android Beta. - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I asked this question in the Sensation forums but it got no answers so I'm going to ask here too
Now I've updated to ICS I thought I'd test Chrome for Android. It's better than the stock browser but there is just 1 thing annoying me about it, it won't read my stock browser's bookmarks.
I've searched around but I'm unable to find out if it's possible, so I'm going to ask the great people of XDA. The question is - can I get my stock android browser's bookmarks into the "Mobile Bookmarks" folder in the Chrome for Android Beta?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anybody?? :-(

Your stock browser bookmarks should be listed under desktop bookmarks.

Nope, only bookmarks that show up in there are my Chrome bookmarks from my PC.

Sorry about that. My bookmarks must show up under desktop because I enabled bookmarks sync with my gmail account.

Copy the HTML file on tthe phone, open the browser and import them.
If you have dropbox or something you can use that.

Twitter app with timeline sync

I'm wondering if any decent Twitter apps are available that can sync timeline position across multiple Android devices, and preferably to a web portal or a Windows app. Any thoughts?

I've been looking into something like this to sync my evo and tab also. The search continues.....
I'm searching the same thing.
Someone knows someone???
Falcon pro seems to do this the best. What your looking for is an app that supports free-market. I'm also searching myself, there's really no perfect app. I'm switching between my s3 and nexus 7. Why Twitter had not implemented sync by now is beyond me.

Necropost alert! I originally wrote this in 2011. I currently use Plume which syncs via Tweet Marker but it's not really a complete solution as there aren't really any good Tweet Marker apps for Windows or desktop browsers that haven't halted development.

File hosting sites don't work on flyer?

So I tried downloading various files and filetypes from.different websites who all use either Megaupload or 4shared and they all (all) have been empty files that have had blank names. What's going on?

I had the same issue. The only browser that worked was the opera mobile.
Every filehoster has worked with that browser so far.
Hope I could help!

Try. Going to the browser settings and clear cookies and cache. Then try downloading again.
Never had a problem with these myself.
Never had a prob on mine

Sometimes you have to rename the file - back to original

I thought that the download tool from the standard browser is the problem because normally it isn't aloud by most of this sides to re-connect (I use another browser for such downloads like Firefox or Opera).
But i must wrong when I see that others didn't have here a problem

I know exactly what you are referring to, I had same issues here our devices won't be properly recognized at some sites on stock browser so clearing cashe or using alternative browser gets you around this. Also some sites will not allow access by proxy you would in fact have to use home IP or secured network.....I've downloaded alot straight to my flyer.

If that's true, then its a bummer, because this browser is otherwise pretty good. I hate to have to switch around.

This here, i tried xScope, Dolphin, Stock, and Skyfire, and the only browser to work consistently was Opera.
Also, on a side note, Opera is SO MUCH faster than any other android browser. Page scrolling is super smooth, and loads quick as hell. I was very surprised going to Opera on a whim to try it out.
Maybe its just me, but I don't see this as a big enough issue to drive my choice of browsers. If I have big files or lots of things to download I jump on my PC and drop them in my Dropbox so they are always there for my phones and tabs. Every browser has it quirks, even the desktops. The new browser in honeycomb is faster and has good integration with Chrome desktop. Coming soon will be Chrome for Android. It all depends on what creature features you like and are most comfortable with. I know it's annoying when you need something and it doesn't work but I don't do a lot of megaupload sharing from my tablet and when I have used it I haven't seen a problem with the stock browser.

It depends on your uses. For me, i usually use the tablet when my laptop is either doing something else, or out of reach, so i do everything on it. As such, alot of what i do, requires downloading from file hosting sites. You'd be surprised whats hosted on them
With that being said, downloading an apk on the laptop, then moving to dropbox and retrieving on tablet is a waste of time when it could take all of 30s to be done via the tablet to begin with.
The only thing that makes me hesitant to use a new browser is that i like how the stock one integrates with sense and all that. This is probably just me being petty, though.

Ive never used opera for file hosting sites but I do use firefox. I use to firefox nightly apks and it works like a charm. Firefox (fennic) is the best browser because it has the adblock plus. Also use auto pager if you use rlslog etc. Amazing.

Question about browser bookmarks.

Recently switched from serendipity vii to CM7 and had a question about the bookmark system in the stock browser. With S7 it was a snap to group bookmarks within specific folders right from the browser. This feature is missing from the cm7 browser. Is this due todifferent versions of the stock browser app, and if sI, would there be a way to replace the cm7 browser with the S7 one? This is a very useful feature, and I'm quite surprised that it's missing.

Browser cspable of syncing bookmarks with folders? ?

I would like to have the same bookmark folder structure on my phone as on the computer. Chrome and stock will do this, but both insist on refreshing old tabs every time they are opened. Opera was great at this, but I can't install it at work. Dolphin proudly says it syncs with Chrome, but does nothing. All others just take all bookmarks out of the folders and throw them in a pile. Any ideas?

Bump. I can't be the only one with this issue

what about Tint browser in the play store? with an add on, you can synch with firefox bookmarks (via Firefox synch service). it actually works really well.
