[Q] Stock Netflix on CM7 NT? - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

Well as most of you know there's a significant difference between the Market Netflix and the Netflix included on the tablet. I don't know if it's just me but my audio is out of sync since loading CM7... and this is the Alpha Final version.
Is there any way to load the stock Netflix onto CM7? And if not, does anyone know why my audio would be so out of sync and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

do what the dev below says
the dev has spoken?

Here are stock netflix and hulu+ compatible with CM7 posted by @Goncezilla.
PS: install them normally do not move them to /system/app otherwise they won't work.
~ Veronica

Hey, thanks. It still has that stupid update popup, but the videos seem to be in sync now.

I tried this and unfortunately the videos are still out of sync; I'm going to check out the cm7 support forum during the week and see if anyone has any ideas since the dev, celticwebsolutions, is on vacay for now.

Flash and hulu on nook color?

I was watching youtube videos on my nc today and realized how perfect the 7 inch screen would be for hulu
Anyone know if this exists?
Thanks

Sortof . There's an app called DroidTV which plays Hulu eps. You tell it what episodes you want to watch and then a couple of days later they're on your device. TV.com also has some episodes.
Hulu will eventually have a app with hulu plus(monthly fee). The app was demo'd at CES on the 7th. Netflix will also be coming "to selected devices".
I'm buying my NC this weekend. I was able to get Hulu to work on my rooted Vibrant running 2.2 by using DolphinHD and changing the format in settings to desktop instead of android. Then hulu just thought I was on my PC. Does this work with the NC?
The stock Nook Android version is 2.1. With that being said we do not have a full working Flash (which is required for Hulu's site.)
If we were on on 2.2 and had Flash, that would work in theory.

i dont think the version of flash froyo is at the upgraded state for hulu
Some have Froyo on the Nook (I mean on not on the SD card). it is close although I can't get Flash to work yet.
If u burned froyo to internal memory just install dolphin hd and flash player 10.1 and it works

It works? With Hulu? I know I can get hulu to play on my Droid X, but only with a hex edited version of flash installed. I just installed Froyo on a dual boot, I'll have to give it a try and report back.
I have internal froyo running fine. Flash with dolphin hd wont work. What are your settings?

Had it working on 0.5.9 when I was running a dual boot.
Just get the flashfixed.apk (I found it on the EVO forum), uninstall whatever version of flash you currently have, and install the hex edited one. Then when you go to the site (in the stock browser) type about:debug in the address bar and hit enter. This will not navigate you away from the page you are on, but when you go into settings there will be a bunch of new options. Scroll down to the bottom and make sure UA String is set to desktop. You should be able to watch hulu videos through the browser now (if you were already at hulu reload the page).
I didn't really play with it much, just wanted to see if it worked. Hulu app never worked for me though, but I didn't have any demon voices. Playback was choppy, but I was on hotspot with my Droid X so I didn't have a lot of bandwidth.
Also if you do this make sure that flash is set to not autoupdate in the market, it will kill your hulu.
Here is a link that I think might help people looking to get hulu working http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=948320

Crackle working on GTAB - running VegaN-GB

Has anybody got "Crackle" working on the Gtab. Have not flashed back to VEGAN 5.1.1 to check but get the following error:
failed to load imc player, drm registration failed
Crackle works on my Galaxy vibrant 4g running Froyo 2.2.
Just wanted to know if any G-Tab community members have seen this error when they launch Crackle to watch the content?
BTW - Crackle will let you watch a ton of free movies and tv online.
Tried Crackle on Vegan 5.1.1 - froyo same error
Got a chance to reload ROM on Froyo Vegan ROM 5.1.1 and same error I encountered in GB Edition.
Anybody try this and working. Downloaded on my Samsung Vibrant 4G and works fine.
Crackle works fine on Vegan 5.1.1 Froyo.

Is there anything you did special to get to work - The app comes up but does not play any of titles when pressing watch now. I get the IMC player error + DRM errors.
I tried this on VEGAN 5.11 Froyo on 2 different G-tabs - same error....
No, nothing special. I am running the 1.4 OC kernal though. Don't know if that is why it works for me.
I am running Vegan 5.1.1 and pershoots 1.4oc Kernel. I cannot get crackle to work either. I also get the IMC & drm error.
Does anyone have any insight to get this app working? TIA
I get the same thing, for now the easiest solution is just to use the Crackle website
I couldn't locate it in the market (or amazon app store) running CM7.0.2
Can anyone upload the apk or a link to it ?
I could only find 1.0.1 online, I think the latest is 1.0.5
Thanks,
I second aasoror's request, please... Crackle is one of the few international streaming providers that let's Canadians access contact (are you listening Hulu) and that has an app for Android, but for some reason, Google restricts Canadians from accessing the crackle.apk in the Market...
A post of the apk for your Canadian friends please...
Was anybody able to figure out the error message's root cause. Is this like a missing install of IMC Player?
Thx in advance for the hel.

Anybody? Netflix gets posted with every update (and thanks for that)... but why not Crackle? Somebody, please share the most recent crackle apk?
It works great without any hacks on both my gTabs (1 running VEGAn 5.1.1 and the other running CyanogenMod 7.0.3) as well as my Droid X.
Since several of you are asking for the apk here it is.
Thanks sjmoreno! It also works on Archos 70... much obliged to you...
Hi all,
Can someone please upload the latest version (2.2 - 6/29/11)?
Thank you!
Awwww
Requires Flash... Stupid T-Mobile Comet!
It's great to have something that works this time. I've paid for some different apps that just quit working. (moviestream, and tvstream) Crackle is working without a hitch. Thanks
Crackle also working on Caulkulin+Clemsyn Combo v6!!
Thanks, works perfectly on HTC sensation too...cheers!

Most stable rom?

I was using VeGen 5.11 forever, then the netflix app came out and the only rom that works with it is CM7. So I tried CM7 but have nothing but problems with it, sure netflix works, but nothing else seems to.
So what is the most stable with or without netflix support that I should be using? Should I go back to VeGen?
Thanks.
Many of the custom ROMs now support Netflix -- it works fine on Calkulin+Clemsyn's Froyo ROM, which includes full hardware acceleration as the GTab was designed for Android 2.2.
I took the same path, Vegan to CM7, and had problems also. Moved to GHarmony and so far I am pretty happy with it. It does support Netflix.

Thank you for the quick reply. I am mostly interested in finding a stable rom, I don't necessarily need netflix, I just want a rom that works.
On a side note, Sorry mods, I figured the general area was open for everything and just read that it is not a Q&A part of the forum, if you could please place it in the proper area that would be great. Thank you.
Netflix works on VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition STABLE RC1
I just recently loaded netflix on VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition STABLE RC1 on Saturday expecting it not to work wild watching TV, but to my surpise when I look down at the screen the movie downloaded and ran. I was watching Netflix on the big screen, so I stop it and open it on the TAB and resume it to where I stop. SWEET!
[ROM][BL1.1] VEGAn-TAB GingerEdition STABLE RC1 [UPDATED - 4/11]
This ROM works with Gmail, calendar, and SKYPE too. I watch me, surf the net, etc....
I even hooked up a key chain GPS to it to check YELP and link my Droid X to it to get data and use Google Map to navigate.
Right now it seems to be a toss up between GHarmony and VeGen Ginger. One of my concerns tho is that it looks like VeGen ginger no longer receives any support (not as of April), perhaps that it not the case though as now people are saying they can use netflix on it and back in June I know it wasn't working, unless it was within the netflix app and not a change on the rom.
+1 for Calkulin+Clemsyn's Froyo ROM. It's as stable as I've seen and so fast...
New version Netflix
I had an older Netflix apx that did not work, this new one works. The app looks the same, but this new one actually works, with the exception of the search. I just go to the netflix website and add it to my instant and then use the app to play the movie.

I think they quit supporting the ROM, since other people on the XDA have developed Honeycomb ROM. I'm pretty satisfy with is ROM. I will get a new Tablet if I want Honeycomb.
So Vegantab Ginger works with Netflix. I am currently running CM7 but I really like Vegan GInger when I had that loaded.

Netflix - Stock vs. Market app

I rooted my Nook a couple weeks ago, but I did not debloat. However, when a notification to update Netflix came up, I think I did the update. Now, the sound is not quite in sync with the picture. Is there a way to tell if I am using the "special" Netflix that came loaded on the NT or if I am using the standard Android Market downloaded app? I'm truthfully not sure that the out-of-sync issue started after this update, but I know it was not there prior when I originally got the NT and watched a couple of videos prior to rooting.
Edit:
Oh, and I did the update while at the GoLauncher home, not the NT home (if that matters). Also, the Amazon viewer does not have this issue at all and works great (after doing the temporary unroot thingy).
I am using the stock Nook app (i.e. not from the android market) and I noticed an out of sync video the other day. I don't know if it has anything to do with the app though. Haven't really looked into it otherwise.
I was watching Netflix on my computer last night and it was all out of sync, I wonder if it is a Netflix issue and not a NT issue?
Watched a show on my computer at lunch and watching a show on my TV thru the Roku right now and both synced perfectly.
I've noticed some shows and videos (sometimes) are like this, try another movie, could be just a temporary problem since netflix is working well on my nt.
This is a problem that I've run into on all of my streaming devices with Netflix. If you go into your account (on the Netflix website) and look at your recently watched list, you can report Audio/Video sync issues.
I've got to believe it's an app (or app plus device) issue since the same movie streams fine on my computer and Roku. Checked my wifi on the NT with Speedtest and I got 16 mb/s download speed, so I doubt that is any problem either.
Does anyone know if it's even possible to update over the "stock" NT Netflix app?

If it's installed to /system/app, generally the market will not update it.

I read that if you leave the actual app in it's original install location and create a symbolic link in system/apps, then you're good to go on updates.
Thoughts?
(I have zero exp. on Unix platform)

I haven't heard that, but it makes sense. However Netflix is installed to /system/app by default (by B&N), so you'd have to move it out if you wanted updates.

So it sounds like I still have the stock app. Has anyone else had problems with the audio being slightly out of sync.
On my NT it goes out of sync for the first 30 secs maybe then usually catches up.

I am on rooted stock 1.4.0 and the Market is suddenly showing a Netflix update for me.
Very strange. I'd prefer to keep the stcok version.
Just watched 30 minutes of Airplane on the new Netflix app, works great! Im 999 rooted, not Cm7 presently.
I'm also getting an update message from the stock netflix app. Anyone know if i should upgrade? It won't replace the stock version with the market version or anything, will it?

I wish I knew. For now, I'm not going to. I have unchecked the auto update option and that seems to have prevented it so far. Just have to make sure I don't accidentally hit it when I have other updates to process.
Unrooted new nook and audio vidio sync
My new nook which I have yet to operate on has had a/v sync issues with some movies from Netflix. So I suspect it is them, not the NT.
One other thing I have noticed is frequent pauses for buffering, like every five minutes. It is running through our home WiFi (which I use through the TV with a Wii, which will pause for uploading maybe two to four times during the movie.) Do others have this? Is there any remedy for this, or will an SD card help?
every time i reboot my nook, it says there's an update for netflix in the market. no matter if i update or not it always goes back to the stock app. i have the same problem with pandora and hulu plus only i have two copies of pandora and hulu plus has been uninstalled more times than i can remember. any fixes?
I am pretty sure stock version comes in 1080p as where the market is not, however Im not completely sure just use titanium to make a back of the original and then freeze it, install the market version and check out the difference your self, if you find it to not to work out as well uninstall and restore the version that came with your nook.

[Q] CM7 & Hulu Plus?

Well... I am just full of questions right now. I am really loving having a standard Android style device but so far I'm not having luck with some of my core applications... Right now (after finding out I can't read magazines) I am looking for a way to watch Hulu Plus. I tried some methods of using Titanium Backup to restore it from a zip here on xda. That didn't work, still says my device is unsupported.
I have had some ideas about using the original build.prop that came with the Nook Tablet. I have gotten rather accustomed to ways of getting APKs that are not available to it.
Any ideas from anyone else would be helpful... If I can't get this to work, I'm thinking a rooted 1.4.2 device is fine with me.
Modified Hulu+ APK
This modified hulu+ apk will work.
Have you tried the stock APK from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23486852&postcount=3 ?
I don't have Hulu Plus, but the Netflix from that post works for me, while the market one has horrible A/V sync issues.
thanks for that thread link i had been looking for the netflix one and that thread had it for me!
Let me know how your apk Netflix performs, because on my NT I had the same experience as with the market one.
I actually changes back to rooted 1.4.2 on my Nook, the magazine issue is what did it. When CM9 gets further downnthe road, I may try it because there is a magazine app called Next Issue that works on Honeycomb.
Thank you all, for all the help, seriously.
