hey guys,
i might be getting an optimus one in a few days. so this is my question:
which rom is clean android 2.3 based on CM 7.1? which one would you recommend?
Miks 6.5.8! With Franco or fservez kernel!
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
CyanogenMod 7.1 by mik_os, build 6.6.1
franco.Gingerbread kernel
check the ROM list made by ciaox at developement forum
This will help you to choose rom
If you want to customizable rom then mik cm7 and void are best
if you want to only overclock then flash franco or fserve kernl
first root your phone then flash fserve kernel and then check that you are happy or not
if you are not happy with that then flash any rom
thanks for the info guys

Flash clockworkmod recovery using ROM manager and install Franco's .35 kernel. Then use an app like setcpu to overclock.

No, the kernel is stable if you don't overclock your phone too much. I would suggest taking the overclock to 768 and if you get kernel panics, lower your overclock.

what if i want to go back to my original kernel after Flash clockworkmod recovery and Franco's .35 kernel?

Hi guys
Right now im on 4.03 LPQ rooted with chain fire
I didnt like it at all its very lagy on my device
My question is can i flash cm7 or cm9 or miui or any other rom like for example check rom v6 on my ics LPQ
Or i have to be on ginger bread to flash those ?
Thanks alot in advance i hope u guys replay soon thank u

Those are different things... LPQ is stock rom... but CM9 bases on different roms. So it's impossible right now. But in the future if CM9 uses LPQ rom as a base rom then it may be possible but it's a very little possibility.

You can flash what you want, reboot in recovery, back up you current rom, wipe everything, flash new rom. Done
Noob question here..
Just wanna ask if its okay to change the current Kernel of your custom ROM to a new compatible Kernel without reinstalling the whole ROM again?
Thanks..

Yes, if the new kernel is compatible with the rom you are using.
For example - there are devs who made kernels for Stock and CM roms.
If you are using stock rom with custom kernel you can fastboot another kernel for stock rom from another developer.
You should have a look at this thread, i think. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2100529

Some kernels can only be used with some type of roms. U can try googling gt-i9300 aosp kernels. Be sure to look at the description of the kernel properly.
