[Q] Best MIUI v4 ROM? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi!
I was just wondering, which MIUI v4 ROM do you guys think is the best?
And does Siyah 3.0-LPH work with it?
Thx in advance!

The one you test yourself.
There is no such thing as the "best Miui V4 rom". You have your phone setup differently to everyone else, you use your phone differently to everyone else and your phone came out of the factory slightly differently to everyone else's.
A rom that runs well for me might not run well for you.

Just flash them and decide for yourself. Also, read the ROM's thread and see what the users are saying.
This question is subjective and there is no other way to determine what works for you other than to read/search/flash yourself. It takes a bit of time.

[Q] So many roms, but which is best?

Hey All,
I recently flashed the stock ICS rom and rooted kernel from
this thread
but i have several bugs/problems with it since doing so (stock keyboard ONLY types numbers and not letters, email sporadically doesnt work, random freezes). To confirm, the rom i have at the moment is I9100XXLPQ
So, ive had a look around this forum and its pretty saturated with custom roms. Can anyone please recommend the best rom, which is closest to stock, but is known to be the most bug free and has a rooted kernel (or one can be applied)
I appreciate your help

I hear footsteps ....... is that crachel I hear coming!!!!
Anyway man root your phone, do a cwm backup and flash 1, 2 or all the ics roms you want until you find one you like. If you don't, just restore your backup. No harm done.

I suggest you go the development sections of the forum & read the first few pages and the the last 10-20 pages of the particular threads devoted to different roms. That way you will get an idea of the features/pluses/minuses of each rom, and also see other users' experiences with that rom.
Then you can test different roms for yourself to find one that works best for you.
Yes, basically as everyone has said. Please take their suggestions.
What you need from a ROM is different than what someone else needs so what these threads will boil down to every single time if we left them open is "just try one until you find one you like"

Personally I'm running Cyanogenmod 9 and it's awesome
Details here
It's based on stock ICS so no Touchwiz overlay. Some people love it but it's not for me.
Best to have a look around the development forums and see which one you like

Each person has their own great ROM or setup..
for me..
WanamLite ICS LP3 V10.2 Android 4.0.3
SiyahKernel v3.0beta7
the kernel improves the smoothness of ICS amazingly!

[Q] ROM/Kernel suggestions

Hi all, I have a Galaxy Nexus which has been rooted and running a custom ROM/Kernel and my girlfriend has just got a Galaxy S II. I will be rooting her phone and am looking for suggestions for which ROMs and kernels to use!
If possible a gingerbread suggestion and ICS suggestion would both be great and kernels for either.
She is really looking for better battery life so if you could bear that in mind when making a suggestion, that would be great!
So far I have found Resurrection remix ROM as that seems quite popular...
Thanks in advance!

I think you may have mis-read my OP. I only stated that I was looking for *better* battery life as I already know that each phone/battery is different.
I have already looked through the first few pages and like I said I found the Resurrection remix to be quite popular but I was also looking for any other suggestions as usually there will be only a handful of ROMs that the majority of people use because of their high quality etc.
The problem with going through testing different ROM/Kernel combinations is that (as stated before) the phone is not mine, it belongs to my girlfriend, so I will be unable to be there for most of the time that the phone is being used and if there are instabilities, I will not be able to see it.
This is the 2nd reason of why I made this topic, from getting suggestions, it will show the more popular ROMs/Kernels and also narrow down the search greatly.

You haven't actually provided any input here have you. The op has already said hes look at some threads and he just wants some input from others now?
Also, as you can see he said it is for his GF. I seriously doubt she is going to want him to test different ROM's and Kernels for her...
Anyway OP, i suggest Ressurection rom remix too, my friend has an S2 and speaks highly off it./
No idea about kernels though.
Really ?
And you obviously know that there is pretty much zero tolerance for these threads in SGS2 Q&A, don't you ?
Thought not.
And that's the entire sum of your contribution is it ?
Thought so.
Thanks for playing champ.

I fully agree with MistahBungle...You've been here for quite a while and yet you respond to this thread as if it was allowed...
To OP:
Try out every single rom that is out there and decide for your self which rom works for your girlfriend..Why the hell should we work for you? Do it your self...
Have a nice day....
Hi NAM_Killer
I understand your situation is slightly different from the other ROM suggestion threads (we have closed/deleted literally hundreds). My suggestion for you would to be to check this thread that we have allowed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1515010
And to read the various kernel and ROM threads themselves. ALL of them will have users posting their experiences with battery life and stability. The information is there.

Best AOKP ROM out now!!!

So guys i know there are alot of AOKP roms for the i9100 out now, but wich one do u guys recommend me to flash and why?
Some good AOKP roms out now:
1. hydrogen ics
2.bezke's aokp ics
3.ressurection ics v1.2(recommended)
4.dragon ics
Which one's ''THE BEAST'' ???
Personal preference. You're going to get answers saying 6 of one, half a dozen of another.
Try them out, decide for yourself.
there is no such thing like "The Best" ROM in Android as far as i know ... bcause every ROM have own plus and minus so .... u better try one and other to get the best result for ur personal use
hey, well this is not a simple question.u decide what is the best for u...i try them all and for me the best for now is hydrogen ics 08.04.
good luck!i hope that u find the rom u like
cheers!
HyDroG3n ICS 10.04 = smooth
Another to consider is the R4 ROM, this very well.
Hydrogen seems to be getting a quick support.

Stable Roms? help

This is not a best rom thread.
I want to know which of our available roms are the most stable, and by stable i mean least amount of bugs not the best looks or features.
I was looking in to the Slim Roms. The 4.0.4 seemed very stable as it was a final release, but as am already on the stock 4.0.4 rooted, i wanted to upgrade, i don't think we have a stable 4.2.1 but only betas and RC's? i was wondering if anyone could share there experiences with the most stable JB roms. i am very intrested in the [ROM][4.1.2]Slim Bean - SGS2. i am waiting for a stable cm10.1 as am a big fan but i was hoping there is something similar but stable.
thanks kind regards
And you're not able to test these out yourself why exactly ? You're only going to know if a given rom/build is stable when you test it on your phone (with the way it's setup & used, which is unique).

I don't want to increase the chance of bricking my phone, loosing my EFS, corrupting my modem etc. Samsung made this phone with many problems with constant flashers.
Mobiles DO NO have personality's my fully working phone is EXACTLY the same as anyone else's s2 i9100, and will work exactly the same as anyone else's with the same rom and kernal after a clean flash. i am asking for experiences?
If you have no information useful to me or anyone else, please refrain from spamming up my thread.
Thank You, Goodbye now.
1) Your premise is incorrect. People do have very different experiences with the same rom. You've obviously never read any of the rom discussion threads. If you had, you'd know this.
2) Once you make a thread, any member is able to post to it. If you're not happy with that arrangement, you might want to refrain from making threads.

You're just wrong and you should've listened to the answer that was given to you. Everybody uses his/her phone differently, so that's why there is no 'best rom', or, in your words, the most stable rom. Stay with stock firmware if you don't want to take the risk, but don't act cocky against other people if you don't know what you're talking about.
Goodbye indeed.
