Issue: when I power down it doesn't fully power down or something. As soon as I plug in charger after power down it starts powering up on it's own. In other words I can never get the battery charging indicator it just powers right back up.
I had this issue with my epic to, so it's something I'm removing or doing. Never could figure it out. I can be the only with this issue. I believe developers found something about the reboot button and canceling. It's like when you choose reboot than cancel you get stuck with this issue.
I'm rooted with the over clock kernel, and v2 of two chumps ROM.
I removed everything att and nearly every thing Samsung except for task manager. Have a bunch of frozen apps as well.

I had this same problem - but only when using a specific aftermarket charger. Another aftermarket charger and the stock charger were fine.

I guarantee its the charger and not the cable. When I discovered my one charger had this problem I swapped the cable to another charger. Both chargers have a USB outlet and aren't hard-wired. Same cable, but now no problem.

so your saying that my computer is the one thats causing the boot loop while trying to get a full charge from a fully dead battery? cause that is my issue atm but it seemed to only happen with this one specific cable
My griffin charger (http://www.amazon.com/Griffin-Power...9U8Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331680656&sr=8-1) causes the phone to power back on, but I was only trying to power it off one day while it was charging at work.
Side story: forgot my wall chargers at home. Was a boring 12 hour security shift with the power this thing tends to pull off the charger.

My phone is acting as if it is charging even when it is not. It will say charging with no usb plugged in. A friend of mine also had this happen to her phone on a epic 4g touch. Although i have a hard time believing it is because it happened even when the phone was turned off. It showed the green battery as if it was charging.
Anyone else have this problem or seen this on these phones?

I plugged in my phone last night and made sure it was charging, so i wake up this morning and i unplug it and it was at 20%?!? So i plugged it in rougly an hour ago and it only went up 20%, could it be that i left the desk clock thing on all night it just used more than it could keep up with and my battery is just super dead? I have also used different chargers and nothing worked.
It never goes past twenty? If that's the case, i'm thinking it may be a battery issue. If you call Samsung and tell them the problem, you should be able to get another one for free.

Try a differrnt micro usb setting or clear battery data in cwm
"Since God created man, and man created the Galaxy Note, the Galaxy Note are like a gift from God, Randal!"
Verify how much current the phone is drawing (CurrentWidget from app store or a shell script). Even with the factory charger I have seend where the phone will draw less than 400mA (which is less than from a USB port on a computer) due to the cable being used - I threw out that cable. The "Battery Info" showed AC but the phone was only drawing 389mA.
Mine does 1% every 2 minutes with stock charger.

its drawing 6130, but the phone is back to charging normally now, idk what it was but it was strange needless to say...
Had the same problem
I had the same problem of super slow charging a few days ago.
Fixed it by rebooting into recovery --> advanced --> wipe battery stats --> then reboot. Phone then charged as normal.
In case anyone has this trouble down the road...
For CurrentWidget you'll need to set the operation type to divide (/) and the operation value to 10. That will show you the correct charging current.

Try charging phone while it turned off. If it is the same it might be battery problem. And use stock wall charger with stock usb cable. Note draws 1A so generic microusb charger takes twice more time I guess.

This is completely unacceptable. I understand that phones will ship with bugs, but updates should fix those bugs. I should or have to reboot every time I pug into a USB based charger. Ridiculous.
What is your issue specifically? Might do more good to state the troubles rather than just complain. Because to me it just sounds like you have a bad phone.

This is a known issue with every note that has been discussed at length in many threads since the phone was released. Basically if you charge the phone from a USB based source, as opposed to a wall charger, it won't go into deep sleep ever after you unplug it. You must reboot or plug into a wall charger to fix the issue.

Its a software problem in the kernel so you most certainly do you just may not be aware of it. Here is a good test:
1. Plug your phone into one of those USB based car chargers. What this is is a unit that goes into your cigarette lighter and has a USB female plug on top. You then connect your phone to it via a USB cable.
2. Let it charge for a few minutes with screen off.
3. Unplug.
4. Turn screen on, open cpuspy and reset timers.
5. Turn screen off and wait a few minutes.
6. Unlock phone and launch cpuspy and click refresh.
What youll see is that your deep sleep time is zero and it spent all or most of its time at 384mhz.
You must then reboot or plug back into wall charger for it to fix itself.
maybe this is why it takes so long to charge?
Fortunately now that source has dropped a custom kernel can be deved to fix it.

never had this problem
I bought a charger at Sams and its the best charger I have owned
Charges at 1 amp and is very sturdy
I just tested it by first plugging my phone into my laptop then by plugging it into a wall charger which has USB on it. After trying the laptop it came back fine, deep sleep and everything. I plugged it into the wall charger through it's USB port and I'll be damned, it didn't deep sleep. I seem to exclusively use wallplug to USB adapters. I wonder if this is why my battery dies so quickly. I'll have to test the adapter in my truck and the one I use at home and I'll report back if anyone is interested or if there's any relevant information. The adapter I used at my office is an apple adapter and it caused the issue.

Yeah if someone can track down the cause. And it could be an issue with a binary blob for one of the hardware components that we don't have the source for.

Instead of the normal 1% drain per hour in standby it will do up to 10% per hour in standby because it doesn't deep sleep.

Make sure it is a USB based charger and try my test. The issue may not occur if the car charger is one piece consisting of cable and male charger end.

This. Sure. Samsung didn't fix the issue but the workaround completely takes the issue out of the picture. I tried it and my phone now deep sleeps every time. Relax and enjoy these next few days knowing that our devs are cooking up some progressive kernel pie.

My issue is poor charging on vehicle charger. I can drive three hours and use navigation with the screen off and also stream Pandora with my phone not fully charger. My POS Vivid was fine. Luckily I have a power converter to deal with it. This is my second Note and both do the same thing.

I had a low battery and had been using my phone at work. I thought I had about 10% left, but looked at my phone and it was off. No, problem I have a usb cord and plug into my work computer to charge it, but no luck. The charging display doesn't come on at all. So, I tried using the same cord with the ad adapter, but same thing. When I first tried it it looked like it was trying to load up, but froze up on the first screen that comes on. So, I pulled the battery, but I am getting absolutely nothing so far. It has been on the charger for about 30 minutes now. What gives? I think I am within my 14 day period at Best buy, maybe it's a battery or phone issue. Of all the days and times it had to be today when I have plans after work, but looks like I have a date with Best Buy instead now. any ideas?
Well that was disappointing. Thankfully it was replaced without a problem. I wonder if it was from the battery dying. I tested the old battery and it powered the new one. Not sure what happened or if that's a first. I hate I lost everything on it.

I remember on my NOTE 2 once my battery died while driving. I tried to plug in my car charger and power it back up but I guess the charger wasn't providing enough juice so I let it charge for like 20 minutes and the phone powered up.
Point is if the battery is totally dead it has to charge for a bit before you can power on the phone...even with a wall charger.
Hi everyone. I bought my Xperia Z2 (Taiwan Ver.) in Hong Kong.
It was still OK yesterday and sometimes I charged it,
it didn't detect and it's not charging. This may be the problem of my power line because I changed the other one and it worked.
And I charged it with the problem one and it showed "Charging".
This morning I just couldn't turn on my phone. I tried many plugs, USB lines and it showed nothing. Then I used the dock to charge but it didn't work.
Please help! I don't think they will fix it for free......
These are the symptoms:
1. No response even trying Volume UP + Power button and many other combination for pressing at least 30 seconds each time
2. No response when connecting to PC
3. Plugged into the original charger and couldn't feel any heat from charger nor Z2
4. Tried the red button next to SIM card slot still not working
5. Charged it for a very very long time still no response
PLEASE HELP!
========FIXED========
1.Using mobile charger (5v ~ 2.5A) and remove SIM card and SD card if you have one
2.Plug mobile charger into Z2
3.Press Start button of the charger
4.Nearly the same time press the Power button of Z2 (with Volume Up I guess because I pressed it too)
5.Then Z2 may turn on the red LED light
Tips: I tried so many times, I guess the time of pressing charger and Z2 power button is important because I tried many times /.\ Hope you guys won;t get this problem. And I got this problem is because of drained battery, DON'T EVER LET THE BATTERY'S POWER BE LOWER THEN 10% IS THE SAFEST!
Leave it on charging for a while, its a normal issue when the battery completely depletes. Don't worry.
I'd suggest leaving it on charge all day, do check after 4-6 hours tho.

plus this phone is still not yet available everywhere. so many people don't know about it.. better just go to Sony center..

Well I am going to the shop I bought this phone (Not official SONY shop or carrier as Z2 is not available in Hong Kong officially) and let them fix it. I don't know if they are going to send it hack to Taiwan to fit it or fix it themselves (Hope not)
And I post my question here because I think it is better to fix it myself because it takes time to take my phone to the shop and to wait it to get fixed. I am sorry for posting this stupid question and I still hope for another reply to solve my problem.
