10% off by just saying that you have a credit union account

You can mention that you work for chase, UPS, dell, or some other big company but they might ask for an employee number or something.
I've heard that you can get away with it if you just tell them your email is [email protected] or something similar
Some companies get a sprint discount. If you have an email address with your company try it here:
http://sprint.p.delivery.net/m/p/nxt/dev/wdyw.asp
If you are a student you can go to student rate and get a 10% discount I think but it may only apply to new or renewing contracts.
http://www.studentrate.com/STUDENTRATE/itp/get-itp-student-deals/Sprint-Student-Rate-Member-Discount--/0
For what it's worth... those big companies get like 25% discounts. M discount is 27% which I got when I "worked" for DHL.

adding a discount can be done at any time, but they will reset the clock on your contract to 20 months. It will not affect your upgrade eligibility though.

You can try and argue that with them and see if they will bring your contract date back to what it was.
First of all thanks guys. Second so to make this clear I would be renewing my contact correct me if I'm wrong.

In addition, you could call every few weeks and complain about service and they'll credit your account a few days.
I've heard that some people set an alarm every 2.5 weeks and they call and sprint will credit 1-2 days worth so their contract gets prorated every month.

yes... you will be back in contract or extending your contract back to the original 20 months.
You can try to argue it, but I don't think they will budge. But I'm not a CSR from sprint so who knows.
Call up sprint and tell them you get a discount from the company you just got hired at. They will ask you for the discount code, use Google to find the best discount

They are really strict now... They require a paystub or badge ect... If you give me the company you work for ill find out the discount in the am.. Chase is the highest at 27%, too bad your paystub doesn't say chase Bank
Sometimes the reps in stores will set it up for you. When I got my first EVO when it came out the rep hooked me up, told him I want it I'll drive anywhere in the surrounding states, but I need it within 3 days cause I was going back to work, driving semi over the road. So he gave me a persons preorder from their other store, & told sprint I work for some company, where got me like 25%. Never had to prove nothing.

I'm aware I got a discount the same way before I started working for them but now we have to have you fill out a form and then either fax or email in a copy of proof or sprint will contact you and ask for it and if you don't..... No discount! I blame the iphone!

wow, that does suck. I'm glad that didn't happen to me. I save $19.99/month. Even after the multi line change. I called & complained about changes, threatened to cancel. He said it's a difference of like $4/month, & I have like 5 months remaining so he will give me $50 credit if I stay, or he would cancel if I would like. I stayed cause that was more then the difference.

i used to work for the city of san diego, and sprint was the cities provider.. so we got 30% - havent worked for the city for a few years, but still do contract work here and there... so i get a few paystubs a year ... keeps me going @ 30percent
been with nextel since the mid 90s - to this day, still have the same account (just with 1 nextel line and 2 sprint lines)
not sure if its my job, or how long i been a customer or both... but i do love my 30%

Don't blame the iPhone.
Blame threads like this.
Discounts used to be easy through Sprint. Someone started a thread like this about a year ago I think, and was promoting that everyone try and get some discount that they weren't entitled to. That's (within one week) when Sprint started requiring proof of employment for most service discounts.
Really muffs it up for the rest of us that now have to jump through hoops for the discounts that we actually are entitled to.

Thats only worth it if you would have AAA regardless. But if the idea is to buy AAA to get the discount, it really isn't worth it. Discounts only apply to the base rate and not the total bill... likely only amounting to ~ 25.
It would be nice if the discount applied to the $10.00 data plan fee also

Put yourself in their position, if someone not a family or friend that owed you $30+ dollars, you wouldn't care? HA!!! you would be b1tching and moaning too. Grow a pair and pay up.
I see a GO phone in your future.......just sayin'
I'm not on pre-paid services. Im on a 2 yr. Contract. My credit is on the line.

its not over 30 bucks, i assure you i have had buddies who have missed entire months of payments and paid the next month double and been fine, what it sounds like to me is you are 30 dollars over your spending limit program and they are going to shut off your stuff.
the point of teh two year contract is to subsidize the cost of a phone by ensuring you will play along for 2 years.

No,idk about...i tried asking about that...my spending limit is 150.... My regular bill is usually around $90 but I had got the photon beginning of april, so they added $36 for activation fee.
Which brings me close to my spending limit but not over. I paid $100 the other day. Not the full amount.yes I know that but why try to shut off my services over $30.
But I'm glad so many people love sprint and their services. I for one am not happy with it but I still pay them.

Spending limit? What is that? I have had $1,000+ monthly bills (always paid on time) and never had my service threatened.

Despite re-upping my contract 2 more years LAST YEAR with studentrate, sprint is asking me to reaffirm my eligibility right now. I currently have 23% off listed as "employee discount". I'm not sure why I wouldn't get studentrate's discount for my full 2 year contract considering that was most of the reason I did it through them..?
At any rate, does anyone know what discounts are out there if I can't get studentrate to renew mine? I used to have a 10% one that everyone gets, but it would be nice if there's a way to do better.

Its probably worth noting that Sprint's changed their policies on getting/keeping corporate discounts. If you start a new line of service or upgrade an existing line of service, you need to prove you're eligible for the discount. This can only be done online at www.sprint.com/verify. If you don't go to this website and complete the verification process within 30 days (pretty sure it's 30 days, might be 15) of starting the new line or upgrading, the corporate discount will be removed from your account.
This might be hard to believe, but it turns out there were a ton of people who claimed to be employed by certain companies, or claimed to be students at a specific school, who weren't - they just told sprint they were in order to get that company's or school's discount. In the same respect, a ton of people are no longer with the companies that got them a discount, or are no longer students, but never told Sprint that they shouldn't be getting that discount anymore.

Wierd - it's supposed to be company-wide at this point. How long ago was "just"? Did you go through retentions or anything? Keep your eye on your bill - I wouldn't be surprised if they notify you in a bill insert that you now have to go to that site to verify your discount since you just upgraded.

You do realize that Sprint's plans are the biggest bang for the buck, right? Just because people are getting discounts that they're (mostly) entitled to, doesn't raise the price of the service. In fact, it's probably one of the cheapest services around without discounts.

I think what he's saying is that because too many people game the system, it's costing sprint too much money, and sprint has to make that money back somewhere.

Well, they're not doing it with the cost of service, because it hasn't fluctuated in a long time. The price of TEP has gone up, but only because of the price of phones going up (and probably because people are constantly returning them for stupid reasons and they accept just about anything as a replacement).

I wouldnt blame it on that as much as id like to. I understand that prices havent fluctuated in awhile but a few months ago i do remember a revamp if you will of the plans especially the family plan that changed how it was billed but not actually the price of it. I do know that i dont recieve my discount on the other lines like it used its only applied to my primary line. My previous statement about price rise wasnt just talking about sprint but all across the board whether it be cell service groceries or anything else. If a company is getting cheated out of money they have to make it up somehow so they strategically raise prices or add charges (i.e. 10 smartphone charge or whatever its called) to make up for losses of either false discounts false insurance claims theft or any other reason for lost profits. Ok i think thats enough for right now lol

Whack, I ordered it through Wirefly friends and family for $139 but it's expected to ship on the 20th. With 2-3 day and the holidays coming up, god knows when it will arrive.
At least I get my Nexus 4 16GB tomorrow to play around with. I'll compare both devices to my current phone (International Note 2 GT-N7100) to see which one I will keep as my main device. I'm thinking it might be my Note 2 though, it's just too good to give up..
All 3 devices will be on 3 different networks, LOL. Nexus 4 will be on T-Mobile, my Note 2 is on AT&T and the DNA well of course on Verizon.
I ordered through wirefly as well, did overnight shipping though. It no longer says pre-order on their website so they might be shipping mine out tomorrow(wishful thinking) or day after.
Will FedEx leave it at the door or does someone have to sign for it?
That's always a crap shoot.

It's Indirect Signature, so if you leave a signed note on your door, they will leave it. Works every time for me.

Thanks!
I forgot about that option!
Nothing worse to come home and find a notice from FedEx that they missed you and will try again later!:good:

Just printed it.
Saved it for the next time, as well!
Very helpful! Thank you!

Thanks a lot for that zep, great idea. Sometimes they'll leave it with the apartment office, but that's hit or miss, and then my apartment office will be closed Wed-Fri so I'd hate for it to get stuck there! My shipping currently says by 7:00pm on the 21st.

Yes, my tracking gives the exact same time and date.
However, FedEx does not ship and deliver per UPS and their deliveries have been known to come way ahead of the tracking info.
It is never to early to leave that notice. Better safe then sorry.
I'm debating ordering online, I really want the phone tomorrow but it doesn't look like Verizon lets you do overnight delivery, so it may be quicker for me to pick it up Wednesday.

This may be off the point (and correct me if I'm wrong) but when I bought this phone online I was given a $30.00 discount for upgrading after my two year contract had expired.
However, I still paid a $30.00 "upgrade fee" at checkout. So I paid $199.00 total: before sales tax.
If you purchase this device at the store will you get that $30.00 discount....off of the $199.00 fee?
Or will you have to pay the $199.00 plus the $30.00 upgrade fee for a total of $229.00?

I ended up getting 50 dollars off for upgrading while signing a new contract... so it would have been 150, but there's a 30 dollar upgrade fee plus tax, came out to 191. Not bad considering I'm selling my Rezound for 200!
Anyone know if Best Buy is going to offer this phone? I will be buying this off contract, so it really doesnt matter who I buy it from, just curious.
On black friday, the Lumia 920 will sell for $50. I just called AT&T and they credited my account with $100 for the two Lumia 920 I purchased on the 16th. There have been instances of reps not granting the credit, but it looks like most people have been able to get it.
Credits From ATT
I was able to get an immediate $50.00 credit, it only took about 6 mins total with the phone rep I spoke to. And he set me up with an additional charging plate. Cause I wanted one in red. It was the best customer support I have received from ATT ever. It so rocked.
Does this apply to people who preordered, too?

I preorder on 11/7, received it on the 11/9 ... and called yesterday, and got a $50 credit on my bill ... Xmas comes early this year!
Does this work if I bought my Lumia 920 at the AT&T store??? not online???
I was asked where I saw that price, so I used the link from ubergizmo.
http://www.ubergizmo.com/2012/11/att-to-offer-nokia-lumia-920-for-49-99-on-contract-on-black-friday/
I was credited $51.25.

Yes. I bought mine last week from a brick and mortar.
Thanks, Got a credit of $70 yesterday. Two of the customer reps did not know about this, worked the third time. I got my Lumia 920 at a at&t store.
I was on the phone for 40 minutes, but i got the credit. It was only $50, but hey, $50 is better than nothing, right?...
call them and mention price protection. it used to be 30 days but they reduced it to 14 days, so if you bought yours within the past two weeks, you are in luck.
and i bough mine online...

I called in and had no luck yesterday, I will try again, and mention price protection... What option did was chosen when you called in.?
I called twice first time to regular customer service...they took too long so I hung up and called premier customer service. On and Off the phone in 6 mins the second time. I was credited 51.50. Thanks guys
You HAVE to mention the at&t "price protection" policy - which works like this:
Any device or accessory that gets discounted or drops in its original purchase price WITHIN 14 DAYS of its purchase date, is elligible for the difference to me credited to the account, or refunded in a corporate retail store.
Caveat to this is online orders. The order date IS NOT the same as the purchase date. It's the date the device is pulled from inventory to ship out. This date can vary by weeks, and if not understood by the rep you're requesting credit from, could cause push back. So check this date on your packing slip.
I hope this helps clear up any confusion, and allows all of us "early adaptors" to take advantage of this discount.
Happy thanksgiving to my US members!

Success after calling. I first tried the online chat but the rep said that it was a hoax and not real. So, I called their support line and the rep was helpful. Got the credit.

I was told it was west coast states only and a limited promotion by the second person I talked to. The first person said ATT was not price-matching black Friday sales. I got a $25 gift card/credit as consolation for being dissapointed.

I was told the same thing, but I didn't get the $25 credit...
I did not get the credit too. The $50 is only for some west coast states only. Apparently TX is not a west coast state
I went in with my mom yesterday so that she could get a 920 (as she liked mine so much), and the store would not honour that price as they could not find it in the computer. I didn't have time to call for her to see if I could get her account credited, but she didn't seem to be bothered much as she still got a free wireless charger for it.
I called 611 on Thursday and got $61 credited to my account.
Worked for me - took all of about 5 mins with the first rep I connected to for a $50 credit. Nice - what a great post.
I hope my luck holds for the Nokia Monster Purity headset give-away...
wish this applied to off-contract price too
Called in again today. got $49 credit to my account. Sweet.
First post. Apologize if this is a repost, but the Verizon LG G2 is currently $50 off, for both on contract and off contract pricing. I'm considering buying it at full retail since those prices normally don't drop
Edit: I can't post the VZW link since this is my first post, but if you goolge "verizon lg g2" it should be the first or second hit.
Cheers!
I think they had to because of Amazon's $99.00 price. I complained last week and they gave me the new sale price though I no longer feel I did anything sober they probably knew the sale was coming. I should have paid the 35 restocking.

wonder would ATT match that price drop to the ones that recently bought on?
I just bought my phone 2 days ago. Will they honor that price since I am still within my 14 days?

Try should, usually Verizon has decent customer service in this regard. Besides, what do you have to lose by asking?
I will try for sure.
Called today and they credited my account for the difference. Thanks for letting us know about the reduction in price.
on the website you can get an extra $50 off if you use promo code VZWDEAL. ordered mine today for $99.99!!!!
Wow! So Sprint users are totally getting hosed. First, they have to be last to get it. They've barely been allowed to pre-order it. And the pre-order price is 199.99. If I was still on Sprint I'd be on the phone with customer service threatening to cancel my service.

Did you purchase the phone in store or through customer service?
I tried to get the reduction yesterday, but they told me it either had to be purchased in store or through customer service to price match. I bought it online, so they said I couldn't get the discount.

Because, depending on who you are talking to, they don't have access to the other systems. It's not universal. Ridiculous if you ask me, but is turning into the norm with a lot of businesses lately.

Thursday, the Amazon price was $119.99 vs $149.99 at VZW. I started a chat w/ VZW and asked if they could match the Amazon price. The answer was no, but he'd give me a discount code worth $50, so I ended up ordering it Thursday for $99.99 plus activation fee and tax - $137 and change. It is due to arrive Monday.
I got my G2 for a grand total of $50
Not really sure how I got it for that cheap.... I upgraded through my work place, and they said all I had to pay was $50 lol
I still feel lucky. Paid $26 from letstalk a month ago. They actually honored the price, which was shocking.

I agree. I was about to preorder it, but I decided against and I'll wait for Sprint's black friday deals to upgrade instead. My only concern is that I'm on SERO and I hope that they don't mandate some weird pricing for us to limit discounts.
I don't mind waiting an extra two weeks from the release date if it means I can save $50 (hopefully) or so. It'll make a lower resale price (like everything else on Sprint) a bit more palatable. Plus, I'm selling my 4S, so I should come out to a wash with this upgrade cycle.

It really is a shame. They're the 3rd largest carrier yet they act like they're further behind. One of the reasons I left. That and the roaming.
I just want to say that thanks to this thread I was able to get $50 worth of credit onto my account.
Plus thanks to the 30% coupon during the unlimited data glitch sale I paid ~$160. (Which included a $30 upgrade fee which will be reimbursed later due to a promotion during that time as well).
So in the end I will have paid ~$80 for the phone and keep my unlimited data!
Once again thank you so much!
