hi,i was watching the football on my phone yesterday and had to keep touching the screen to stop it blacking out,is there any way to stop this as i seen in settings display only has 10 minutes timeout
If you are rooted and have KI4 , KI8 , or KJ3 firmware, you can use KJay Deluxe Settings v13.1 app to customise quick settings panel and add "screen on" toggle. The"screen on" can be set up to 3.5 hrs.

you can create a dedicated and customized button/widget for "screen always on" (among many other things) with the app "widgetsoid",put it on your homescreen and toggle it whenever you need it.
its free on the market and doesnt require root.

Go to app "Status Bar Options" and customise settings panel. Check the box for Screen On. Then option Set Screen On Toggle ....xx mins
Now pull your status bar down to reveal your horizontal buttons at top of screen. If you have to many buttons, just swype finger from right to left to show hidden buttons of the screen.
If you want to change order of buttons, or add / remove , use settings above to uncheck all, then check again in the order you wish them to appear left to right.
Edit: Sorry, forgot to mention to also check setting for "temp screen timeout".

in my staus bar options i have no customize settings or "screen on",is there a paid version where you have more settings??
Boot into CWM recovery and format cache, advanced and clear dalvik cache. Reboot and try again.
You are using KJ3, KI4 or KI8 ? Custom de-odex ROM ?
Edit: If you have any further troubles, maybe ask in KJay's thread.

Hey guys,
Can you develop the double tap instead of opening Voice app to switch the auto rotation on and off?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
In my opinion, I think that it be useless to turn auto rotate on and off by double clicking home button since there is already a way to put it in the status bar, jkay 13.1. It is just a swipe and a click away from turning it on and off. And also, I disabled double click action.
Not development thread closed...
As previous poster stated its a drag click away in notification bar.

I gave my 5 year old son my old Galaxy S. He loves it and it pretty good with it but he keeps going into the app drawer and going into things he's not supposed to.
Is there a way to lock to app drawer?
I tried Go Launcher and I was able to remove the app drawer. However if he hits the menu button in go launcher, he'd be able to do a whole lot of damage. lol
The phone's rooted, if that helps
Any ideas?
There's an option in go launcher to to hide icons from app drawer

just popped up for the first time now and i tried googling with nothing answering it.
anyone know?
i was first thinking it was smart stay but its unchecked and still there.
Smart stay..it's the feature that keeps your screen on when you're reading a webpage or something.... works great
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
i have it disabled in my settings so it shouldnt be on there... thats weird.
smart stay
if you set you screen to timeout for 30 seconds or so, smart stay will check around that time to see if you are looking at the screen. so that eye icon will pop up every time it wants to screen timeout.
lol @ nobody paying attention to the OP's full post.

I am on viper rom. I have floating notifications installed, and in order to enable floating notifications it has to be enabled in accessibility. I have talk back disabled, but for some reason my still wants to talk back screen selections. any ideas as to why?

Oh nooooo!!! I enabled that the other day, and it took me 30 minutes to turn it off, as having it on will not allow u to scroll down. Go back into it and make sure it's off. Also, under your app settings, force close Google TTS.

I forced closed Google text to speech, and I even forced stopped talk back. Talkback is off in the accessibility settings. Now what I've been doing to see if my phone has stopped speaking, I have been opening up instagram, and every time I open instagram my phone says "instagram news". It also does the same whenever I open the browser. Any other ideas?
