[Q] USB tether phone to Prime - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Is USB tethering possible with the Prime? I dislike using Wifi hotspot on my Sensation due to the huge battery drain and only use it in emergencies.

I have the same question. I wish to buy a Asus Transformer Prime, but my only connection to the Internet is my phone.
I am allowed to tether (its not blocked by my provider) but would love to do usb tether as wifi drains your battery.
Is it possible to do a usb tether?

Would be nice to get someone to respond to this question as i would like to know too....

Me too... I tried plugin my sgs2 to usb dock and activate usb tethering but nothing happens on the transformer side...
Maybe there's something else that I may be missing...?

It is being done by some people. I am still waiting on my TP to arrive.

Yes I saw this thread too, and they are testing with 3G dongle...
Hopefully with time someone will make it happen.

What i dont get is that some are saying ICS or android donĀ“t have a native support for this feature. But the Archos tablet as well as some other no names have support for this. Kind of confusing to me.

I'm using my Android phone as tethering device for my prime. So my prime connects via Wifi to my phone who connects via 3G to the internet. Works perfectly !

Do you have a dock? Easytether app can do usb tether. Theres a lite version to try. This should work so long as you have a dock as the dock supports ethernet via usb just like a regular pc.
EDIT: Ok it looks like Easytether requires software installed on pc too. I'll dig around for another app

[Q] Use device as bluetooth adapter

Hi every one after doing some searching around and not seeing anything related I decided to make this thread. Basically what am trying to do is use my HTC Amaze 4G or my ASUS Transformer as a usb blutooth adapter for my pc running windows 7 so i canconnect my ps3 controller or wiimote via bluetooth so i can use it as a game controller. I figure since i have both of these devices that are bluetooth capable i wouldnt have to buy a usb bluetooth adapter. So does anyone know how to do this or if theres some required app or driver? Thanks in advance

So i'm guessing there's no such way?

[Q] Native USB Headset support

Hello,
I'm just wondering if a generic USB headset that works out-of-the box with normal Linux distros could be expected to work on the Prime. Or am I required to use special tactics to do so?
I'm ready to get into some code if it's something required. So if you guys have tried or have knowledge about what would be required, let me know!
I believe someone has used an insanely expensive XBox gaming headset via USB, but YMMV.

I just tried my logitech g930 and a plantronics gaming headset thats pretty old and neither of them work.
Thanks for your answers! So I guess I'll have the chance to play into it if I want to make it work. I'm still waiting for my order to ship though...
For what it's worth, JBuds model J5M has a functioning mic+earbud setup, and Klipsh S4A should work too.

[Q] Logitech Rumblepad2 with the transformer prime?

Does anybody know whether it's possible to get a Logitech Rumblepad 2 to work with the Transformer Prime?
Just connect with dock and use the USB port in your dock
Cordless version works ok with prime...
Does not work thus far. I am not so sure why. Just rooted the device ... saw some apps online to see whether I can get it working. Rumblepad2 is not bluetooth capable.
*rooted* asus TF201

[Q] Want to use Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 on Prime but how?

I've searched like crazy but have not been able to find a way to make my gamepad work with the Prime. I want to use my Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 on my Prime. I've put the USB receiver in the dock, and checked gamepad in settings. This does not work(no surprise). Then went looking for answers on XDA an good old Google but can't find a way to do this? Is there a way to make this work?

Wireless Connection to projector

I want a wireless connection from my Nexus 9 to a projector.
I tried to attach a Chromecast to the HDMI port of the projector but Chromecast requires WiFi.
This solution works at home but not at place I have not access to a free WiFi connection.
The idea is to wirelessly present slides in meetings using my tablet.
Any wireless solution that you know would work??
Need my Nexus 9 and projector ..... (buy a receiver but what)
Will Miracast do the job?
1) Buy a dongle
2) Attach it to the HDMI port of the projector
3) Run and app
4) Present slides with no wires
miracast wont work.
you would need a hotspot maybe by using your phone..i forget if that can be done or not. you will need to use the tablet to set up the chromecast
Chromecast did not work using my phone as a hotspot..... dropped in 5 minutes.
Support forums say mobile hotspot is not supported.
May look into hard wiring the Nexus 6 to the projector..... not something I want to do, makes for ugly presentations.
Yeah if you could connect to it in a offline mode, a router would be your fix. Wish there was another way.
Have you looked into EZCast dongle? There are so many variants I can't decide which to try. Results are mediocre overall, but some are reporting success. I just want to cast videos from tab storage to TV without wifi. This device does that. It also does miracast. I've done the build.prop edit that may allow miracast. If I try one (or two), I'll let you know.

Yeah, I dont think that miracast would work for that .
When do you don't want failure, I would recommend trustworthy wires.

I'm curious as I would love to connect my N9 to a TV with wires. How? Perhaps I misunderstood your post.

You can get a USB Dongle that accepts other usb cables, hdmi, etc etc. It's pretty easy.

You can do something like this
http://www.amazon.com/Fosmon-HDMI-M...=1425920651&sr=8-2&keywords=micro+usb+to+hdmi
and just plug the hdmi end into your projector.

You use this cable on your Nexus 9 to connect it successfully to a TV?
You get full mirroring?

Well, I don't have this cable, but I used to use a similar cable on my old nexus 7 and it would mostly work on my tv. I just use Chromecast now (I don't need to present anything like you're talking about, though. Just to watch youtube etc.

Interesting as I don't think I was (nor were most others) ever able to mirror my Nexus 7 2012 to the TV via a cable. Micro usb to HDMI--I've never seen one, only dongles such as MHL and Slimport. MHL isn't supported as it is on my old Galaxy Nexus. Slimport isn't supported as it is on the N7 FHD and Nexus 5. A micro usb-to-hdmi would not work without some sort of hardware and software adjustments because of the limitations of the usb port on the Nexus 7.
As the thread is about a wireless connection to a projector when there is no accessible wifi, we came around to wired connections. So far, you're the only one to suggest a cable will work, but the cable you hyperlinked is a micro hdmi-to-hdmi which would not natively work on any Nexus tablet or phone (at least since Galaxy Nexus). I have that cable.
I have read that the EZCast dongle may work--if you actually get a good one and are close enough to the output device. I'm not ready to try it as I'm still debating keeping my N9.
