Spare Housing for Xperia Ray
Does anyone know where I can get a new black housing for Sony Ericsson Ray?
The Sony service center says its around 220$, that's half the cost of the phone, does anyone have any alternatives??
Any help is appreciated.

It's different parts that makes up the full housing top to bottom and the back , i think there is about 4-5 pieces, this does not include the two metal strip and buttons.

Including the usb caps and button?
I have white x10 and the paint from the buttons tears up after normal use. I guess now I know why the new SE (new mini , ray) have change the buttons model.
Guys, mine is black and the body and the screen is a little bit scratched. Can I replace it with white housing? I mean , will there be any other parts left black? also how about usb cover?
And is it easy to replace the housings?
hi,
did any one already tried to replace the buttons?
I am going to change front and side ones but I'm not sure if I have to buy them with this PCB plate or it is ok to use cheaper ones (just plastic buttons)??

very thanks for link, i see
So I need to send in my x10 to SE for service (the digitizer is coming unglued...weird huh) and I bought a black one but have changed everything on it to white (housing, digitizer, everything). my question is, is my serial/IMEI number or anything tied to the color? will they be able to tell that I have opened my phone and changed out the housing etc? if thats the case i'll just order another housing and try again.
I can't help you, but maybe you can help me. I dropped my X10 yesterday and cracked the screen and corner of the housing. Can I get a new housing and fix it myself? Where do you get your parts?
Yes the serial number will show what model it is (Sensuous Black or Luster White). The SI number on the sticker behind the battery also tells if its a SB or LW.

can you post a pic of the damage so i can better assist you? I got my Digitizer (aka the glass/touch panel) off of amazon for 25$ which is a steal since they usually run 75$, i got my housing (aka the casing) for 8$ off ebay which i think is a knock off as all the holes for the screws are split already and the glue didnt hold...obviously

damn, alright thanks BRAH! new housing it is then. @MODS: keep this thread open for a little bit til the other guy gets his question answered
I bought a new housing for my neo V as I have several scratches on the body of the device.
A video helped me dissasemble the device, but it did not show how to detouch the touchscreen glass and the front camera/sensors/speaker from the face body.
I found another video that shows by heating it can be easily detouched, seems like it is glued.
Is there anyone who tried that and could help?
Same problem

Hi,
I have the same problem. Did you solve this, if so how did you do it?
Looks like no one here has tried this. I ordered a new housing for my old Neo (S3 owner now) in order to sell it cuz the old plastic is full if scratches. When it ships i'll attempt to change it and give you an reply how that went.

Why don't you go to service center and request them to change it for you .. Or else go to any local mobile service stores..

I just changed mine and got stuck at the same step.
The whole thing is glued to the front case. You can carefully cut the glue and remove the camera/sensors.
HIi,
It would be great if someone could guide me as to how I can replace the USB flap and battery cover on my Xperia GO , I took it the service center and was told I would have to pick up a new phone with a 20% discount on the new one.. its just the USB cover that got cut.. feel totally ripped off with this purchase ... is it possible for me to do some kind of DYI stuff and replace these parts?
Would also appreciate references to aftermarket service centers to get this fixed in Bangalore,India
Although I don't own a Xperia Go, but I found a few sites that sell replacement parts for the covers.

You can try to order from them and assemble them yourself. Based on the design, it should be a simple push in. If you can't do it, bringing it down to a simple handphone repair shop with the parts and they should be able to do it for you (maybe with a bit of money). Should be too expensive.

I have this exact same issue. The flap has been pulled off the tether, leaving a small part hanging out the phone. I posted on another andriod forum about this and a Sony Tech member made a point that part is easily fixable but if the back cover of the phone is removed there may be issues with water? There's also a special tool to replace the back panel. I'm guessing equal light pressure and even tightening of the screws is all that's required, as well as taking care not to damage the O ring seal. Search for 'Sony Xperia go ST27 Service Manuals.zip' and you should find a link to download the service manuals for the phone if you like. It has PDF videos for a full teardown of the device.
I'm confident that the part can be replaced without taking the rear cover off. I pulled out the broken part of the tether with some needle nose pliers. I made sure the pliers were gripping the plastic and then gave a quick sharp pull and the tether came out. I had initially tried just pulling the broken tether slowly but the plastic stretched, and in hindsight it could have snapped and made things more difficult to remove/maybe? The new cover should be a matter of pushing the tether back into the small hole with some good tweezers/pliers.
Thanks for all your inputs.. Would be great if you could link to the service manual..

Hi.
I'm new in this forum.
I have a question for you.
I broke my z ultra screen 2 days ago and now i want to replace it ( possibly by myself cause high price ) but i haven't find anything on the internet.
I have seen this etradesupply.com/sony-xperia-z-ultra-xl39h-lcd-screen-and-digitizer-assembly-23072.html and it's a good price but i won't order it becuase i can't find any guide or something that help me to do this.
Have anyone ever tryed to replace it?
Will it be still waterproof ??
Please help me.
P.s : sorry for my english
a month ago i broke my xperia z ultra digitizer while i kept it in my backpocket. the lcd is working perfectly. but due t technical reasons u'll hav to replace the complete lcd+digitizer, u cant rip off oly the digitizer.its kind of nxt to impossible. the replacement of the screen is not tht easy as it is shown in different videos available on youtube. moreover u need to buy adhesive tape for the frames to refix the glass panels after u rip them off with blower.i would suggest get it replaced by some good technician. i got mine replaced $170 from local technician. the sony service centre asked me for $400

Mine was repaired by Sony Center for 170 euros.
It came back with front and rear panel changed and the little cover for USB connector repaired.
It's brand new.
But it's still locked to my operator
