Alarm Clock Bug - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

So it turns out if the alarm goes off and then another application goes over it (like snooze calendar) the alarm will stop !
I missed an alarm the other day and i didn't realize why... then today luckily i was up when it went off. And then a second later the snooze notification came up and the alarm stopped.
Any one knows a fix for this?

Have you tried Missed Message Flasher? Not sure if it works with alarm notifications, but it supports many app notifications so I wouldn't be surprised if it does.

Your post doesn't solve the issue.

You guys totally ignoring the detail....
It only happens when there's another notification program going and is on top of the alarm.
In my case:

So remove the bogus app and your alam clock will work, or maybe you should set your alarms with this app instead of the generic alarm clock(?)

OMG. 10char.

Ive had the note 3 weeks now and its been perfect with alarms.
So the obvious thing is remove the app that is messing your's up. Or; post the author of the offending app and let them know what is happening. They may have a fix.

It's a specific bug. Believe me.
Anyway a tested a different alarm, Alarm Clock Xtreme, and it works find in that situation.

So calendar snooze is supposed to enable repeat reminders, but is instead eliminating the original reminder... hmmmm, I believe your answer was given in #6 and #8.
Next.
Oh, and if you want help I suggest you don't piss on everyone that tries to help.

I'm talking tomato and you're talking potato... of course i'm frustrated. and you're completely wrong.

Can't dismiss alarm

If your alarm goes off and you accidently hit snooze, how do you bring the dismiss window back up.
Go to your apps and hit the clock app. At the bottom hit the alarm clock icon. Should be the third from the left.

I don't want to un-set the alarm, I want to dismiss it.
can you tell us more details, like what rom you are running, and things like that that might help?
stock Verizon rom.
Set your alarm for 2 minutes from when you read this. Wait until it goes off, then hit snooze, the alarm options then vanish.
Now on any other alarm, you could bring that snooze verses dismiss window back up so that you could dismiss the alarm before the snooze timer runs out.
I can not seem to figure out how to do this on the Eris, I've read other forums that claim the alarm stays in the status area during this time, but not so with the eris.
Just uncheck the alarm and re check it and the snooze will be gone.

Thank you!
I really need to dismiss after snooze.

This doesn't seems to be a proper solution. I have seen feature to dismiss a snoozed alarms in many phones and its really useful.
Isn't there any other way to dismiss a snoozed alarm ?.
Please help.

Well I never tried it because it takes about 5 seconds to go into the clock app, and uncheck then recheck the alarm but you may be able to just long press the home button which will bring up recently used apps to get back to the dismiss/snooze screen. If that doesn't work then you are SOL I guess.

[REQUEST]Alarm app that repeats alarm until snooze or dismiss button is pressed.

Stock alarm only plays alarm once, and thats it. So if I'm a deep sleeper, then im obviously not gonna hear it.
Anyone know any alarm apps that play the alarm ringtone over and over and over again UNTIL you dismiss or snooze it?

Are you sure about that?
It does allow snooze, may be you switched it off while asleep and forgot it, happen to me a few times.
Yeah, it only plays once and thats it. snooze and dismiss button remain there, but no more ringing after the first ring..
i use Alarm Klock and find it works very well. you can choose the alarm tone, set many alarms and snooze time is variable. It also has a slider function for turning the alarm off, so it cant be done while half asleep ;-)
Alarm klock works perfectly the way I needed it, thanks a lot for ur contribution

"Sanfter Wecker" is a very useful Alarm Clock. The best thing about is that you can adjust the alarm volume because the standard alarm is way too loud.
You can test it before you buy it. There is a test version available on the market.
Try Math alarm clock (com.av.mac.apk).
The stock alarm is very weak. What is the point of the snooze when it rings once? and they have a time setting for the snooze which I find is pointless. I set it at five minutes but nothing happens.
I am using Alarm Clock Xtreme, which has lots of settings perfect for me.
+1
Alarm clock extreme is the best alarm. Very customizable.
AlarmDroid'd make you happy then : https://market.android.com/details?id=com.splunchy.android.alarmclock

[REQ/Idea] Alarm app

While there's a lot of alarm apps I somehow can't manage to find one that has everything I want from a good alarm. So I'm hoping that some of my ideas will inspire someone to make the perfect alarm app!
what no alarm app has:
- increasing ring after snooze (as in the first time the alarm goes of it starts at 10%. Then I snooze it and when it goes of the next time it starts at 30%, making me wake up faster. And so on for the next alarms after snoozing)
- follow the ICS design guidelines
what it should also have:
- increasing ring (as in the alarm gets louder every x seconds it's playing)
- simple alarm screen with time, large snooze, small dismiss button
- use the android alarm feature (no seperate notification icon but use the android one next to the clock)
Look for AlarmDroid in Play Store.
I will post the link later in case you can't find it.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.splunchy.android.alarmclock&feature=nav_result
Should have all your requested features.
It's missing the first item on my list: increasing ring after snooze. It just has the normal increasing ring feature.
Thread moved to Q&A.

This last request is not possible. First off, there isn't a standard android alarm... many phones include many different default alarms... and of the many I've seen, none of them have a notification icon next to the clock, so I have no idea what you are even talking about.
Any alarm app is just that, an app, with its own notification icons and such. Your not going to find anything that is going to edit how your particular phone's default clock+alarm app works.

It is well possible. Almost all the alarm apps out there do it. The feature has been there since Cupcake!

Have you used Alarm Clock Xtreme? Not exactly what you are asking for but it does have an option where the alarm can start quiet and increase to a pre-set volume level. You also choose the length of time until your volume level is reached.
Seems similar enough.
that's the "normal" increasing ring that pretty much every alarm clock has
Ummm... except for the entire fact that the fade-in time is customizable and you are not limited in which sounds you can choose. Along with several other customizable features - like auto-snooze, limited number of snoozes, math problems [or other hoops] to dismiss alarm, etc. - in this app. When I was testing out alarm apps, it did not take up lots of RAM through the day and was very stabe.
So no, that is not

I do realize that a 'fade in' alarm is common, but I really enjoyed all the features built into Alarm Clock Xtreme. I figured I would share as you seemed to be seeking an alarm app. Guess you are really ony seeking someone to create your dream app - good uck with that.

there's loads of great alarm apps out there. feature-wise Alarm Clock Extreme is among them, though the UI is quite outdated and needs polish.
I prefer CM10s alarm app, but it's also missing the feature i'm looking for, else it'd be perfect

No alarm sound

Is anyone having any issues with third party clock and alarm apps? I set my alarm and it does not ring at all despite having all sound and notifications settings correct. The default clock and alarm app work fine but I would really like to wake up to a song/music I choose.
Any possible fix/solutions?

I just got an p9000 and have the same problem .. I´ve tried to add the app (tried a few, used to run Gentle Alarm) to the white list, but it makes no difference ...
I even tried to use the Gentle Alarm "night display" to keep the display on, but still no alarm ...
(would´nt be a problem, unless all the stock alarm sounds are so hideous)
Any ideas?
edit: clicked on the "lamp" button in Gentle Alarm, that says "keep display on", and the night display, that worked! Kind of annoying to have the screen on through the night, but I did wake up to my favorite song!

Missing a way to turn off alarm??

I set a daily alarm for 7:45am. I woke up at 7:34am and swipe down and there's no way to cancel an alarm, but still leave it on for every other day? I had to shut it off, wait until after 7:45 then re enable it.
Would be nice to hide the notification icon until it gets closer.
I always download the Google clock for this feature specifically.

I downloaded Google Clock. There is a button to "dismiss" it if I wake up before the alarm is due to go off, however the alarm still goes off at it's scheduled time.

Did you remove the alarm from the Samsung clock app? With the Google app, when I hit dismiss I don't get that alarm until the next day.

I don't have a Samsung Clock app since getting the Google one. In fact, I got rid of most everything Samsung.
