Saw this app on XDA's main page today. Thought it was a very useful app that I will start using myself.
This app lets you open your nand images and lets you pick through them for anything you want without having to restore back to it. For example; an app that you didn't make a backup off but its in your nand. You can just go into the app and extract that one app. Pretty neat.
I take no credit for this app. I just wanted to share it.

Another great find
If I helped, give thanks, if you please.

Its an awesome app. I used to hate having to restore a full nand just for one lil file.
Works well. Used it today to get a app back that titanium did not backup.
Nice find, thanks coupetastic-droid

Does anybody have a good app that will back up the entire phone... especially the apps and settings.... to an online cloud. The really ideal way would be for it to backup to my home machine via blue tooth or wifi.
Ideally, the backup app would have a scheduler so I wouldn't have to worry about it.
The closest thing I found was myBackupPro, but I tried the free version and it didn't work. Told me that I had to purchase the pro version to get enough online space to back up my phone. Stupid.
Anyway, if you have a recommendation, I would love to hear it.
My backup pro is great and worth it

There has to be something else. Its hard to trust an app where the free "trial" version doesn't even work as expected.
You can always uninstall and get your money back if it doesn't work how you expected in 24hrs

1) Why the hell would I try and application when the trial doesn't work? Refund or no. And, I am more than likely not going to need to reinstall the backup within 24hrs..... at least I hope not. AND, the only way to test it is to do the factory reset and then hope the backup works. Why bother when the free trial fails??????
2) There must be an alternative that is more trustworthy?
Is this thread surveyed by mybackup pro shills?

Cease to amaze. You asked for help and suggestions for apps. I've used the app on my G1, MTS, and now the Vibrant and it replaces everything. Including location of homescreen icons, settings, contacts, apps (short of protected ones), etc...
And the trial is to give you a feel for the app btw...
You can also try Lookout, don't know that it backs up apps, but does backup data. Will TEST FOR YOU now...
Ok, lookout only backs up contacts and pictures. Sorry, my backup pro is probably gonna be your best solution... Take it or leave it...
I would recommend Titanium Backup, and then you can copy your backup files to the cloud through Dropbox. It's not an all-in-one solution, but it should work.

MIQ will back up pics, contacts, notes, mms/sms, call log, and a few other things(but not apps)
Sprite Backup will back up the ENTIRE phone(apps included)
I was also looking for a solution like this...it's a shame google hasn't come out with a program to at least do this one task that iTunes does so easily for the iPhone.
To accomplish something similar I've rooted my phone and used Rom manager to make a nandroid backup.
I have heard a bit about sprite backup.... but doesn't that only work on 2.2.
I have a vibrant, so not quite at 2.2 yet.
As a lot of us do here we are constantly flashing new roms and what not that require fresh installs. I've been using Titanium Backup to restore my apps and data, which I love btw. The only thing is I have quite a few apps, around 120. Going one by one to restore them takes some time. Is there a way to auto install them without me having to press install on each one?

That is a feature of the paid version of Titanium Backup. When you send the developer a payment on pay pal, he will send you a file with a license key to unlock the pro features that you place on the root of your internal sd card. I highly recommend paying for it as it saves a lot of time and hassle.
Yep, Titanium backup. With the licensed version, it will restore all your apps and data/settings in a batch job with no user interaction.
I wish AppBrain would do this too.
Lastly, I just switched over from the HTC EVO. The Cyanomod ROM (CM6) has remote backups through Google, so it will install the apps automagically. I'm pretty sure this is a Froyo thing, but CM6 is the only ROM I know of that does the auto-download/install thing.
Ah ok yeah was planing on getting this since I flash a lot.

I just found out MyBackUp Pro does batch installs as well. I hadn't used it for a while but if you have root you are able to install everything plus fix the market links as well.

How do you like the vibrant compared to the evo? I had the evo for a week and liked it but I think the vibrant will have be the phone for me especially once cm6 is ported over
Mybackup pro does a good job too I use it because I flash like 3 times a week...it puts all your apps back as well as data if you tell it to.

Could be IMO, but Titanium is 1000 X's better than My Backup Pro. Everything about Titanium is better, and the developer is amazing.
Hey All,
I would like to ask anyone who knows how I can properly use Titanium Backup I would really appreciate it. The problem i've had before is that when ever I backup I never seem to know how to properly back up my apps so I can also back up the data like my saved games on angry birds, and my tags on sound hound. If I back up and thn restore I always mess something up and my roms end up all screwed. please some one guide me!!!!
I usually only backup user apps. Press the options button on the bottom left of the vibrant. Then choose batch, then choose backup all user apps.

Like I said though, doing that only backs up the apps but it doesn't back up the data i.e. shazam tags, etc.

im interested in this too.
the pain of setting everything up again is actually the only thing keeping me from flashing a new rom. (flashed my mytouch so much that i only kept a few apps)
and can the free version do everything the paid version can do?

thanks alot. I'll look at it now. I hate flashing ROMS sometimes because I don't get my app data. It sucks having to start Angry Birds from leverl 1 every time I flash something!
I use mybackup pro n backup apps. ..gives option to backup apk + data. Has worked well for me. Don't have re -download apps or anything.
I know this doesn't necessarily answer the question but it gives a way to backup apps+data(bookmarks, texts, call log, settings, etc)

Guys I have made an old fashio nandroid with all my updated apps and stuff. Now When I go to titanium backup and then press menu button and etract from nandroid it asks me which nandroid when i choose I then have the option to select which apps , when I have selected and click restore it just stays on 0% and doesnt do anything, By the way the nandroid is a ICS custom rom and I am now On a stock rooted JB rom. But that shouldnt matter right only the apps should I tried more then one app its always same thing nothing gets done. How can I restore my apps without having to load the whole nandroid then copying the titanium folder and then AGAIN flashing the JB and pasting the folder then restore the usual backup way. Any other way to do it from my nandroid ?
I've had problems in the past restoring from normal titanium backups. It's usually caused by a certain app that stops it.
Not sure if your problem is the same but try selecting just 1 random app and restore.

Are you talking about Extracting from Nandroid? Its an option in titanium pro.
It allows you to restore apps straight out of a nandroid backup. But when I do it nothing happens just sits on 0% for ever. Makes me angry!!
Maybe try AppExtractor from the play store. Worth a go.

thaat program worked perfectly
If you are restoring alot of apps I have seen it do this. It will just stay at 0% if you just leave it eventually it does finish you might not think it will finish and it appears stuck but it will finish

I've run into pretty much the same thing. HOWEVER I am trying to restore apps that I had on my GS II Skyrocket to my new GS III. App extractor wouldn't find the nandroid backup, and wouldnt let me point it to it.
Using TiBu Pro, I cna get in, find the apps, I've tried both Batch and single, it shows complete, BUT the app never shows up. I know it's got to be an operator error.
Operator is standing by.

I know this thread is pretty old and hopefully you've found a solution, but I've been researching high and low for a similar thing - to extract data out of a nandroid backup, and finally found the solution.
In my case, the app would NOT show in the nandroid backup extraction list in TiBu PRO, even if it was there. So, I installed the latest version of the app on the market, restored data ONLY, and it worked like a charm.
Let us know if it works for you! This is on the Verizon I535 however..not sure if that will matter. Don't see why it would.
but where it is saving the apps I am restoring from TWRP backups?

Not operator error so far as I can tell. I am having the same difficulties. I find that when I use my super root level file browser and go ahead and make a data folder for the app then TiBu Pro will be able to restore the app and its data, but otherwise no go. I think that TiBu Pro - for some reason - doesn't have permission to create folders. So without the folder, no installation can happen.
Does anyone know how to set it so that it can? That would make my life much easier.
Ok, so I screwed up. I wanted to uninstall Uber using Titanium Backup and I accidentally uninstalled a different app right above it. A system app! I didn't catch it's "display name" but in the screenshot you can see it's called " com.trustonic.tuiservice. " It's the app that's right between Uber and Trim in TiBU.
http://imgur.com/a/McrDD
If someone could please make a backup of this file using TiBU and then send it to me by posting it on here I would really appreciate it!! I will reinstall it using whoever can provide it to me's backup. I'd prefer someone that has the black 128GB version (just cause I'm super paranoid now) but I'll take anyone with a Verizon S6 Edge. I don't know what this app is or what it does and I really don't want to make my phone useless
Lesson learned: Make sure you pay attention when messing around with your phone's rooted apps & settings...
Update: Now my brightness slider won't work on Ultra Power Saving Mode. Hurry everyone before my phone explodes!! Lol
Thanks in advance!
Don't get your hopes up from my post, I don't have it. I just have a possible option for you....
Try downloading a rom based on your firmware, dezip on a pc, mount system.ext4, extract the files you need. An next time you plan on uninstalling anything system, even bloatware like Uber when pre installed, hit backup before uninstalling! !

Attached.
Needs to go in system\app\TuiService\
Hope this helps
I can't help because mine is not rooted but I can tell you that the app you just deleted accidentally has got something to do with Knox, so, it is kinda fatal...
Thank you to everyone that has commented! I ended up just flashing the stock firmware through Odin and then doing a factory reset. It looks like the program is back in Titanium Backup after I did that so everything should be good to go! Also, the Knox Status app confirmes I still have my warranty. Lol I went almost 4 weeks before doing a factory reset and I didn't notice any issues so I guess it wasn't that fatal. Thanks again much love everyone!
