Best launcher for MIUI? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, what's the best launcher for MIUI? Something that fits in, doesn't look out of place. Thanks
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA

i feel MIUI is equipped with ADW or Go Laucher is great. and the slide up to Lock is my favorite. but ADW cant invisible apps in apps drawer is its drawback. so i chose Go launcher.

GoEx. Have used it since day one with Miui. Install it, freeze the stock launcher & enjoy

[Q] Question for Wolfbreak - CM 6.1.3 V053 ROM

Firstly, thanks for the awesome ROM.
Secondly, as I'm a new user I'm posting here, rather than replying to your thread.
Thirdly, my query. I notice you have asked for ideas for your new ROM. How about including Go Launcher EX as your default launcher. It has heaps more functions, more useable and much prettier.
If that's not possible, can someone tell me how to remove the default launcher as I'm using GO Launcher.
Cheers.
Why do you need to remove default launcher? Just use GO...and forget about default
Use Titanium and remove "Sony Ericsson Home 1.0".
Ok thanks. So if I Uninstall SE home it won't break anything?
I could just ignore the stock launcher but just figured if he's modding his rom then he may as well leave out the crap.

Woo it will break on boot!
* haha just kidding. Just remove it doest affect anything
Nothing will happen if you do remove the stock launcher provided that you have its substitute already installed. I find the arc launcher very smooth and good so I wont be using my launcher pro plus.

[Q] Restore apps/widgets

I know Titanium Backup will re-install all of my apps, but is there anything that will place all of my apps & widgets?? I want to flash an new rom, but not so much of a fan of re-placing all of my apps & widgets on my home screens.
Adw will save your desktop layout, minus widgets.
Don't know about any other launchers, as I have no experience with them

Which launcher is the best?
Unfortunately I don’t believe there’s away to restore widgets without having to manually go back and add them. Launcher Pro is also an excellent home replacement.

What color is the best? Who is hotter Mila Jovovich or Rue Paul? Who makes crappier cars, Chevy or Dodge?
It's all personal preference, there are free versions of almost all launchers on the market, try adw, launcherpro, go launcher, etc. have fun

[Q] Launchers - Good or Bad?

Are launchers good or bad? Because I want to use one so i can REALLY customize my sgs2, but I want to know some things first.
Do they drain a lot of battery?
Do they slow down the Sgs2 at all?
Have you had any bad experiences with them? (I don't mean weather you disliked them or not, I mean crashes, problems, etc.)
Thanks so much!
No...some launchers drain battery a lot especially 3d launchers...
Try go launcher ex

I have no interest in any other launcher besides Go. Using it for a month now, fantastic customisation options, and it DOESN'T drain any battery, I can bet it. Other than Go, Nemus Launcher is also there, but still needs a lot of improvement.
Oh, it will not slow down your device at all.
No they are good they don tdrain battery

Cool, but make sure you won't be able to use any 480x800 walls, which I hate.

I'm kinda feeling it, give me a day or 2!
EDIT: One of the fastest launchers I have ever worked with? The Notification light is not coming on with new e-mail's and text?
EDIT 2: I'm really, really, really digging this launcher. out of the 5 or so I have used in just as many years, speedier than all of them. I love the Gyro effect on the clock screen. Thanks Again!!

Hey all, you do know that the center of the automated clock on home screen comes off to reveal other apps you can change at 3:00? Just hold do the 10 next to the 3:00 and the top flys off the the left!
This launcher is absolutely the truth. To bad ics is bored right now.

Funny, I have been waiting ALL night to post here. I was in love with the MX, dont know what happen. Last night, the last 2 screens over lapped each other. I deleted and recreated and put everything back. simple reboot later, its jacked again. I was drinking and too tired to put it back!

Seems like a nice launcher, just wish the styling was different.
I wish there were more themes for this launcher and the ones that are out there didnt cost money. I think this is a great launcher but im not real keen on the theme.

Where? I only see a few and almost all of them are paid skins.
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
There are more themes in Google Play than in the built-in theme selector. Maybe that's what (s)he's seeing.
This launcher is cool, but it feels rushed in a few ways. For example, why can't I configure:
Where the MX (Cover screen?) button goes
Where the app drawer icon goes, or its icon (and why isn't it themed?)
The number of docks. I just want the one.
The task killer. I can already open it by long-pressing app drawer. Yet I can't move the dedicated task killer launcher (from dock 2).
The names and colors of the folders in the app drawer. No "Games"? And what is Lifestyle anyway?
The icons on the clock. Yes, I know I can change them, but to select Music, I have to have it launch the stock Blur music app? No thanks, I like the MIUI one, TYVM. Likewise with Contacts, I can't make it open Contapps. Gallery won't open QuickPic. You see where this is going.
The home screen indicator. I'm fine with it being there when I'm changing screens, but all the time? Not feeling it.
Other than that, it is a nice launcher. When placing icons, you get the grid from GO Launcher EX. Also from GO is the home screen configuration (press Home, this lets you add or remove home screens, or move them around). From GO and ADW it has a popup when long-pressing icons; other than being more visually impressive, it adds an Info option which takes you to its page in Settings/Applications (this is good if you want to force close the app, or maybe clear its cache, or remove its defaults).
The settings are also really bare and spread out amongst some confusing labels.
This app has a couple neat ideas. The app drawer and cover screen are nice touches, but the customization is very shallow. It feels like a beta, a work in progress. I'll keep it around because this thing is just dripping with potential.

Alternative honeycomb launcher

Got my tablet, don't really like the sense launcher, and adw ex doesn't look right imo. Any alternative honeycomb launchers?

Oops meant to press quote, but you could try using the stock HC launcher. I like that the best out of all the ones I've tried
I basically have 3 issues with it #1 wasted screen real estate, #2 no folder support, and and #3, can't delete unused home screens

I think he meant the stock honeycomb launcher, not the stock htc launcher. The stock honeycomb launcher does not have wasted space, the other two I'm not sure about.
Ah yeah I saw a "t" in there that wasn't there lol. Yeah I saw the team syndicate one and I tried it out, only problem is it was kinda designed for gb and froyo so it has a virtual notification bar that can't be disabled... However that was the free version it might be able to be disabled on the paid I dunno. Anywhere on XDA I could just grab the apk for the actual stock launcher and install it?

It's in my ROM. If you don't want to download the whole thing for the launcher i could just link it to you
Yeah I might eventually go custom rom, I've had plenty of experience with my captivate , but for now I think I'm just going to stay stock for the time being with the flyer, so if you want to link it thats cool. Thanks!
Wow I guess golauncher hd beta for tablets dropped out today, i'm not sure if it's on the market but I downloaded it and it works. It looks promising

GO Launcher EX is good. Has lots of features that most Launchers don't
But I always miss the glorious sense widgets that you cannot get any where else.
Honestly I've warmed up to the sense launcher a bit. Its basic and bare but the cool animations and awesome sense widgets make it worth using. As far as real estate, Go launcher HD had the issue too, just seems to be a honeycomb thing so whatever really. Think I'll just stick with Sense for now!
yea go launcher HD (beta) is a nice alternative to the stock or htc launchers for sure. just started using it today and really like the folder support
it's not on the market u'll have to search around for it
Yeah I found it from a google search, had a download link, and thats how I got it
Yeah I tried Go Launcher HD and it certainly a beta. Need lots of work.

the stock launcher is pretty bland, I would highly recommend Go Launcher EX or ADW over that if you want a different launcher.

I use this one, it doesn't run sense widgets, but runs great and looks awesome. I even put it on my phone.
