Can clockworkmod recovery backup wimax RSA keys on the 3D? I've been using Amon recovery on my 4g and have no experience with clockworkmod. Thanks!
Yes it should to my understanding.

Yes you can back up your wimax keys, flash team wins recovery its kinda like RA but it has more options. It's a really nice recovery ! I had RA for my evo 4g and now i have team wins for the 3d ..
CW does back up ur Wimax as does TWRP, however, CW backs them up every time whereas with TWRP you can choose to back them up or not.

Have you guys found the teamwins recovery to be reliable? I'd like to have it be as similar to amon as possible since I'm used to that.
Thanks.

Twrp has not failed me once in probably over 2 flashes a day with backups and restores since we had s-off. It does integrity checks with md5. I actually think it is more capable then amon. I love the reboot when flashed option when you finished a flash.

I now have clockwordmod installed and for the first time when i boot into recovery not matter what selection I try it when you hit power to select it just shows the clockworkmod logo. it doesnt go anyway. so i can't wipe data and i can't install from zip.
I tried to uninstall app and went into sdcard and removed the clockwordmod folder so i could just use the rezound's original recovery but still only the clockworkmod recovery shows up and the same issue remains.
so now im stuck not being able to change roms.
Every developer in the Rezound forums says to use Amon Ra and stay away from clockworkmod. You will not be lost using it. Look for it in a sticky in development section. Next time do your homework first.

I uninstalled clockworkmod and removed the folder on the sd card and flashed amonra in fastboot. but when you go to recovery in hboot it still comes up clockwordmod.
what else do i have to do to get clockwork off and amonra to work?

It should overwrite clockwork. You are unlocked right? Try the cleanflash tool from scrosler. Has worked for me everytime. Make sure you do not have any ph.img on you external sd then boot to hboot and use the tool. The Amon Ra link is in the second post. Directions are simple, and make sure the recovery .img is in the same folder as the tool. At least you posted in the right section.

Amon ra All the way!!
I'm using amon ra recovery. For some reason I have never been able to flash any zips from the internal sd card. When I try to use the option in amon recovery, it tells me that it can't mount the internal sd card. I have to copy the files over to my external sd card, then reboot into recovery and flash.
Is this normal?
Rezound, rooted, loving it.
Probably is normal. Some flashes wipe the internal SD, so its generally a bad idea to flash from there. I always flash from the external.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA
You're running version 3.15 correct as opposed to 3.14 that was posted in the OP of the amon thread.
I would fastboot flash 3.15 and then check go see that it mounts when you toggle the MS USB selection from the main recovery screen, plug into USB and mount internal memory and see if you get the same error. If its the same we will move forward or see what other solutions have been posted.
However besides testing I flash everything from the external card anyway. If you're downloading from your phone and its placing it on the internal ad card directory just change its default storage location for whichever app is sending it there.

I had that issue while running the leaked firmware on 3.15. There were only like 2 of us that had that so it never got tracked down. I ruu'd back to gb firmware , running ics with old firmware patch and using 3.14 its all fixed .

FWIW, I'm having a different problem where Amon Ra 3.15 doesn't see anything on the internal card, just LOST.DIR. There's definitely folders and zips there, just doesn't seem like its visible to Amon Ra for whatever reason. Don't really care, but still weird.

Ugh, now I can't flash anything from my external drive. I get a Status 0 error and the install aborts. I also don't seem to be able to flash Superuser from Amon Ra. Something's either jacked up with my SD cards, or Amon Ra. I didn't have a problem with earlier versions of Amon Ra.

Same issue here....no known fix for this yet?
Mine does the same thing all of the sudden. It used to work fine. I think it started after updating to the latest ICS firmware and hboot 2.25. I've flashed ROM's from the internal sd before.
When I go to flash a zip file, I go to the internal sd and all it says is Lost Dir. I know for a fact there are lots of folders and files on that internal sd, it just isnt accessible anymore. If I pick sd_ext, it reads everything fine on the external SD Card.
I'm on Juopunut Bear HBoot 2.25.2525, S-OFF, latest radios, running CleanROM 4.4 with the latest kernel and Wifi Modules flashed in. I'm on the latest Amon Ra 3.15.
Also, if I go to the USB-MS menu I can enable USB mass storage for the internal-sd just fine.
Everything worked fine in the past. I think the issue just crept up after I flashed a PH98IMG file that contained the latest ICS firmware, radios, and JB HBoot 2.25.2525 files. Prior to that I was on the GB firmware, radios, and HBoot 2.11 unlocked with HTCDev unlock.
I believe it has to be an issue of the JB Hboot and the Amon Ra 3.15 recovery not playing well together.

I did that. I've reflashed Amon-Ra 3.15 and it still didnt work. So, I flashed HTC's stock HBoot 2.25.0000 and it still didnt work, so I then reflashed Amon-Ra again after that, and it still doesnt work. I dont understand why it all of the sudden quick working or how to get it working again.

As we say in the south (born and raised in 'Bama), "gotta go with what brung ya"
Amon Ra
1. Progressed to the point of being bug free
2. Solid recovery, plenty of options and robust featureset that some recoveries do not have.
3. Allows me to flash VR theme packages, which TWRP will not.
4. No charging issues
ClockWork has always left a bad taste in my mouth; first from the bricking of the Eris, then to the non-charging recovery issue (which has been rectified by flyhalf, I know), I just can't use another ClockWork recovery.

Is twrp stable?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
I have been using TWRP since spring, first Con's port, and then Flyhalf's build.
Both versions are totally stable, and TWRP has some nice features that AR lacks, like a file browser/editor, the ability to easily name and rename backups, and, of course, touch screen use.
Also, it has been reported that Flyhalf's TWRP is able to flash VR themes, unlike Con's port.
I may try Flyhalf's CWM, but probably only when/if it works to flash from the SD and v6 is working properly.
newest twrp is cool but for performance reasons most roms recommend amon ra
I second amon ra. It is basic in its features but it seems to be the fastest in terms of backing up.
+1 amonRa never had a problem. And the idea of a "touch" recoveryjust sounds bad. Personally. Ans we all know not to use CWM

I was using TWRP, but noticed lots of developers tested theirs with Amon Ra. So, when I S-off mine (about 3 weeks ago) and installed Amon Ra and honestly, I like it better.

amon ra is compatible to everything so until you can flash everything with twrp aka vr themes it won't beat amon ra.
I've always been hardcore serious about only using amon ra. I've remotely set up about a hundred rezounds, and probably 95 percent of the people who I worked with got a lecture from me about not changing recoveries.
People who had used clockwork mod on other phones tended to want to change immidiately and it just wasn't solid and stable like amon.
That being said, the only problem with with amon ra recovery is that for a lot of people, the recovery doesn't allow the user to see the internal sd card or flash from it.
Flyhalf has recently posted TWRP built from source for our device. It's top notch work in my opinion.
I'm currently running TWRP, because it allows me to flash from the internal SD card.
Suite tools is being implemented in more and more roms, and it stores data on the internal sdcard and automatically reboots to recovery. With TWRP this works, with amon ra you had to tell suite tools to download and install the app, then say no to the confirmation before it rebooted, use root explorer to browse to the suite tools data on the internal sd card, copy it over to the external sdcard and then go to recovery and manually flash it.
It depends on your needs, with TWRP, some of the kernel installers like Joel's have an automatic reboot to bootloader in the script. The auto feature is for anon ra, TWRP works just as good, you just have to reboot to hboot yourself after flashing the kernel zip in recovery.
Amon ra has the issue for some users which prevents flashing from internal, but it always works besides that.

and someone has said vr themes install under 2.2.2.1 of TWRP. They haven't said anything about v2.3.
But is use CWM6. I just a fan since the good DINC days.
No one should be using cwm. It sucks and who cares if it works now it's is far less superior to amon ra. I remember von hated it so much that he was going to make a script that wouldn't let you flash something if you had cwm haha
But seriously amon ra. You should be using what works. It's a recovery for gods sake. Your in there for maybe 10 min max so who cares what it looks like.

Just to make it clear, FlyHalf's CWM does not have the charging issue of the original release, and his TWRP is able to flash VR Themes.
I use TWRP, with which I have had no problems at all. With me, it wipes and installs significantly faster that AR did, and I think it backs up and restores faster too, but I am not sure. The main reasons I prefer it to AR are the keyboard and ability to name backups and the file manager.
i see that Amon Ra is getting its well deserved love. Anything but clockwork. I even like stock better...

That's your personal opinion. Amon Ra is perfect. Twrp has issues flashing some things and requires devs to work more to fix errors for these users. It would be 1000x easier if everyone used amon ra.
Basically, use either Amon-Ra (v3.15 or higher) or TWRP (Flyhalfs version)
I've never come across anything I couldn't flash with either one, they both backup and restore just fine most of the time (had one bad backup with AR)
I do lean towards TWRP simply for the ease of use offered by a touchscreen, the ability to name backups, and the file manager which saved my butt once when I was messing with stuff I really shouldn't have and didn't have a computer anywhere near me.

Best for the rezound is amon ra recovery, but flyhalf has built a source twrp recovery and a working clockwork mod. Sounds like you have an older version of clockwork. Just scroll down the development forum for the links.

Download, rename to PH98IMG.zip, place on the root of the sd card and flash in hboot.

For future reference, this question has been asked plenty times before. Just so you know if you have trouble flashing the zip in hboot you will need to extract the recovery.img from that zip and flash it via fastboot.
