I try to make led notification for MIUI and I have tested in my streak and
it work.....
When you get any notification, your softkey led will blink until you turn on screen...
(for MIUI rom only)
Just flash zip in streakmod recovery and reboot
and dont forget to disable notification led in
menu/setting/personal/trackball/

What? I'm on 2.3.2 with that MIUI232FIXen.zip fix you released. I just set the led lights to 0 because the stay on. I have MIUI set to automatic brightness- should I disable automatic brightness?
I think you said 2.2.17 has that issue right? Only thing not working for me is the led lights- I have them disabled- Is there some way they can be on without being on all the time in 2.3.2? Does this mod work with your MIUI232FIXen.zip? I didn't apply it because I thought it might conflict with MIUI232FIXen.
Only things left to fix-
led notification
led lights on all the time instead of on when the screen is on
(wifi tethering- although I don't really use that)

Think you passed each other once you flash blinking led fix you need to turn off automatic brightness. Will tell you every now and than, leds stay on just tap power button and it fixes it.
Just flash blinking mod for miui from me,disable setting trackball and auto brightness
And everything about led gonna be okay....

the button liagts stay on in miui 232
i think that is not a bug
it is just a different way of working
not with touch
but with auto brightness
if someone wants to make button lights work as we used to
he can flash my fix (miuifix,or miui232fixen,or blinking_mod_m) first
go into the auto brightness setting once
and flash my 2217.zip (or blinking_mod) back
if you were using 232
you don't need my fix
just go into setting once and flash blinging_mod

Thank you, finally i have 2.3.2 almost working perfectly, Flashed rom, then MIUIFixen.zip, then Timeout.zip, went into auto-brightness settings, then turned off auto-brightness, flashed Binking_mod and then re-enabled auto-brightness, works a charm.

Good point. That or ..
Original Eclair dialer would make this phone much better..
Would be great to disable this damn light sensor. I don't understand why can't we disable it to the hell out??
The light sensor seams to be OAM apk, so maybe removing them would disable light sensor... I didn't try yet, so if someone try, let us know if it works.
Where is it?
I did a misstake : it's not OAM but OMA.
And i think to remember that there were 2 OMA apk in system/app folder
i have install "quick settings" and there is an option to turn on/off light sensor
I installed it but I don't manage to find the option

I made it. now here the instruction:
1- download attach
2 - unpack it
3 - copy to the phone /etc/
4 - chmod 777
5 - reboot the phone
Thats all, you don't see work of this sensor.
Ok, it works at 100%. But... Ekhm... brightness is just crazy now xd I think I prefered old settings ;p. I'll try it tommorow.
Thanks.

This doesn't work for me... I have 2.1-update1, latest pre-rooted Chinese firmware...
When I try to run it from adb it says something about /sys/... directory - "directory nonexistent", that it couldn't be created...

Thanks, it's great... and just like hugerth says, brightness is CRAZY!!!
new version of Light Sensor Disable
i made a new version. it's got a normal bright and decrease a power consumption (i hope)
Can you write a small description on those changes, what does what ?
i write it in my post
Hi, all.
Could someone enlighten me a bit, what exactly do the light sensor do, and what would be the advantage (and disadvantage) of turning it off?
Cheers.
The light sensor is what detects ambient light around the phone and automatically adjusts screen brightness to torch your eyes out.

MiuiFix.zip is mixed from MIUI 2.2.17 & 2.3.2
it can fix Headset(MIUI 2.3.2) or Auto Brightness(MIUI 2.2.17)
MIUI232FIXen.zip does more things:
Fix MiuiSettings
Fix Flashlight (Torch)
Fix Headset
Add 2.3.7 Camera (it can focus)
Add ROOT
Fix wifi (It effects in my phone and I forgot to proint it out yesterday)
If you are using miui 2.2.17
MiuiFix.zip is enough
I believe button leds have a different way of working in miui (working with Auto Brightness)
but if you want the leds work like before (miui 2.2.17、2.3.3 or ealier, just except miui 2.3.2)
you can flash MiuiFix.zip and go into the "use custom" settings once
then flash 2217_signed.zip
you can find 2217_signed.zip in #5
======================================
Timeout.zip adds “Screen Timeout” choices (the red two)
30s 1m 2m 5m 10m 30m Off
but it will lose Korean Language (I hope hpa won't be angry)
I made it from miui 2217
but I believe it can be used in miui 232
for they are nearly the same

Auto Brightness(MIUI 2.2.17) fixes the crash of the whole phone in custom setting ?
Need to ask...
Can you fix the other issues specifically wifi not working 2.3.2?
• Torch is force closing, but on camera flash is working.
• vibrate doesnt work on messages and pressing home, back, select buttons on phone.
• Also the LED stay on even when the screen is dark.

As for LEDs working, which MIUI version are you using 2.2.17 or 2.3.2? For 2.3.2 had to use advance settings and turn them off completely. Not sure right now if that is an issue or not that will require me to go back to 2.2.17.

MIUI232FIXen fixes the wifi as well for 2.3.2? Because thats the only thing I was waiting on before I flashed it.

Yep fixes pretty much everything, install LED patch you recommended works like a charm from my view point. LEDs are off when screen is off and on when screen is on, don't care about blinking when I have some sort of notification. Just wanted them not to always on. Thanks pointing me in the right direction. Did you try 2.3.2 and Manic's patch yet?

Just curious if anyone here uses any voip or sip apps? I notice Groove IP works great on MIUI- no echo anymore when the person calling me talks. Only issue I have is that the audio sometimes comes through the speaker instead of the earpiece and I have to press the button to switch between the two.

Hello,
I've searched for a solution to turn off the LED bar for quite some time, but all the solutions via apps like LEDs-U-CTRL or uninstalling the sony.illumination.service package or removing the /system/apps/SemcIllumination.apk or the terminal commands from this thread don't work for me. Maybe because I've flashed the FXP152... The two packages don't exist.
Is there any other way to disable the LEDs? What versions of FXP support disabling the LEDs?
Thanks in advance!
yes u can disable ..

I can't believe it! It really works!

In FXP 210a the LED bar is finally completely off. Thanks to that my phone used only 2% of battery in the last 11 hours. Well... without using the phone much (sleeping for about 7 hours) and Wifi off. The Governor at "on demand" set to 200-400 MHz. :cyclops:
(of cause the LED bar will still blink at a custom frequency with a custom color when I get a message.)
btw: When the LED was always on the percentage went down every few minutes... It almost halves the duration of the battery when using the phone all day.
*Don't mind me reporting how things were progressing*

bro you know how turn off illumination bar of xperia u permanent, without apps? please tell me
Use illumination bar notification app (search urself) and on choosing the color of the theme of that app, don't slide non of the red, green and blue and then, save it. That's how.
P.S: That app didn't even use root access so you better give it a try

I don't know... I have something in mind, but it also could cause, that no led works at all or even that the phone won't boot anymore... So I don't even want to try it. (deleting the file /system/lib/hw/lights.montblanc.so)
As Little Zed said, you should try it with an app like screenfilter or the illumination bar notification app.
If you try out newer Roms like KitKat, then you also have an option to disable the LED but, I don't know if it will both disable the small LED on the top right and the LED bar... But this is something you might want to test.
ps: in the current KitKat Rom the LED bar won't work, you'd have to replace the above mentioned file with the one from CM10.1.

Wait, so the LED bar wont even turn on now? For FXP-201? Was supposed to get CM9.1 FXP-201 today... but I love the LED bar. And its notification. (Dunno if notifications still work for stuff like FB/WhatsApp /Message etc.)

How do I make the Xperia U LED work in CyanogenMod 9.1? I remember it sometimes turned yellow for unknown reasons, but Illumination Bar Notifications app doesn't fix it.
In the CM 9.1 settings there are options for the notification light, and I can set it and test it - it lights up when I test, but doesn't work on the back, home, etc. buttons.
Bump.
Illumination Bar Notifications app says that General Settings are for Xperia U only. So it doesn't recognize or something...
In my opinion only dev can make them work like stock.
