I installed today the official ICS 4.0.3 XXLPQ and now I have some issues with GO SMS
I use GoSMS Pro as my default SMS app. Works great, looks great, is great.
Except for one issue:
People are receiving my messages twice.
Until upgrade ICS everything was fine.

same problem with my SGS-II, i use the my sms app and everyone's complaining that my messages are received twice
I'm having the same problem, searched through the forum and I see that LP7 shouldn't have this problem but unfortunately for me I seem to have it, lucky me!
If I were to flash a different kernel would it still send 2 sms? Just a thought, go easy, I'm a n00b

It is a known issue on Samsung ICS firmwares with several third party SMS apps, like GoSMS and Handcent. Many of these apps have updates that fix the double-send. Try updating to the newest version of your SMS app.

I hate using Handcent or gosms, for some reason they stop any notifications from occurring. I have to randomly check my phone to see if I recived any messages or emails. Big SMS doesnt have that problem, but I cant send to groups using it, I have to select contacts individually (a real pain considering I send the same daily large sms to 27 people)

I've tried my best not to be a noob and did a search of the i9300 sub-forums before posting this and also a search of the WanamLite thread.
I saw a few people have FC problems and others with "ghost" notifications. But my problem is a bit different.
I have a i9300 running WanamLite 2.0 ROM with stock kernel. I have about 9,500 texts (SMSes).
I backed up and restored them using "SMS Backup & Restore" from the play store.
The problem is this:
I get a notification that I've gotten a text, I open the messaging app and the relevant thread is not updated. When I open the thread, its fine I see the new sms and THEN the thread gets updated when I go one level back.
Its not as big of a issue when its a single sms or multiple smses from a single sender, but with multiple senders all I see in notification is that I have "X" amount of texts. I do not know who the sender is until I open the threads one by one and see which has a new text in it. =/
I really hope that I've been able to explain the issue properly. I wonder if i'm the only one facing this bug =/

Has anyone had a problem with composing a new SMS and when you start to type the contacts name it take a much longer time for the list to come up then when they first got the phone?
It's always been slow for me.
I usually find typing faster will make the characters display faster - Maybe try a 3rd party messaging app from the playstore
are you using stock sense messaging app? if yes, its not that awesome. get a third party sms app from the market--i personally use jellybean messaging. it gives you stock jellybean for your messaging. only kink is that mms is broken in the latest update, but using the one before that will work.
I had this problem before on UKB Rom. After installing Virtuous ROM this issue was fixed, and now contacts search is really fast as it should be. I think it is a problem of Verizon SMS app.

So i want a quick reply feature for SMS. I'm aware there is already a lot of threads on this. Its just that I cant get any of them to work. I'm rooted and still running TW, I have Xposed installed, but I think the problem might be that I deleted the stock messaging app because I hated it so much and was happy with Hangouts. I ran into some bootloop troubles and did a factory reset via safestrap and after that my stock app magically reappeared. Before this trouble I was using floating texts and it worked great, now any SMS client I try either gives me a force close or simply doesn't send or receive messages. I've tried 10 plus messaging apps and none but hangouts and stock work.

I have a Nokia 8, running Android 8.1
Its Not rooted.
My problem is No 3rd party Sms apps are working properly. I have tried many apps. None work. Main issue is receiving sms es. I can send sms to anyone but i dont receive all sms. I have made these apps "default" in the settings and restarted mobile, yet the problem persists.
Please help me as the stock Messenger (sms) app is limited in functionality.
Also i dont use mms much, so cant say if there is a problem in that too.
