So I am not a huge user of the FM radio on the Droid X2, but it can be handy now and then. I have noticed that the FM radio did not work with CM7 but a little google searching and there it was. Spirit FM Radio. And it is working on my cm7dx2 and the only thing not working is the volume. How can this be fixed?
when installing it, go to settings and switch settings -> audio-> method-> to motorola2 instead of cm7 and it works.

I have used that before when I was on liberty
try one of the other Motorola choices
I forget which one I had to use in order to be able to control volume but it IS possible
if I get a chance when I go on break I'll look into it if you haven't figured it out yet
good luck!

Funny, very funny...
Anyhow, I went back and checked, and yes, I was having volume control problems... I.E.: No volume control.
I e-mailed the developer and sent him the requested information. Here is the setting to make the Volume Control work: Set Settings->Debug->BC 4330/20780 to "Enable" and reboot the phone. I have confirmed this works. Now off to purchase the app... Too bad it's $9.99. :-/

Hi! I haven't updated to v1.22 Beta 3 (yet), but I thought it would be handy to create a thread for this, since I think not everyone is willing to scroll through 164 pages of text
It seems that changing the volume during a call doesn't work and my push-mail also doesn't work (I have to click send/receive manually). I've enabled the 'use settings while roaming' setting and my peak times and off peak times are both 'As items arrive'.
I don't have a clue why changing the volume during a call doesn't do anything. Do you guys have any idea (...and now I hope you don't all say I have to update to Beta 3 in which these specific issues were fixed )?
Thanks in advance!
btw. Awesome what you guys have done, creating a ROM like this certainly is something uber-1337
I don't think you should start a new thread, but anyway.....
Your thread title says 1.22, but you say you have not yet upgraded to BETA3(1.22)
Maybe you should start by telling us what version you'r currently running.
I'm running 1.21, and changing volume during call works fine for me.
I don't use Push mail.
The HTC Volume Control is removed from ROMeOS 1.21 so you have to install it manually.

That's not true; ROMeOS 1.21 has HTC volume control cooked in.
And BTW, he says volume control during call is not working.
Even without HTC Volume Control that has to work.

You're right, but this way it's more specific than one big post for all problems but if that's the normal way then I'll do that from now on.

I tried both (with and without the HTC volume CAB installed). I really wonder what it is
I had that experience myself. During the voice call the volume was very loud and I posted in the ROMeOS thread and no one answered me.
When I tried the HTC Volume Control I had control on the Volume during the calls. And I successfully lowered the Volume.

Because it's a issue regarding ROMeOS, I think also this should be discussed there. Or, soon, we will get lost in many threads, all about the same ROM...

hi,

Oh come on, it'd be much worse if you didn't have any downloads. That would then mean no one is interested.
I have it installed, and it indeed isn't as crashy as that other version. So you get a thanks from me.
How this app working? I pushed in system/app with adb but when i open the FM radio..it saying: FM radio is loading, please wait. And that`s all.
i really read a stable FM client.
bundle with CM7's very buggy. i suffer alot of FC, not response, worst case to reboot unit to get FM back.
Hope this ver can be improved.
thx.

hi,
try to clear the cash of the fm radio app.
No problem here, works perfectly.
I would hit thanks button, but there is none in Tapatalk.
Thanks, Still need some sort of antenna but at least I can get rid of the stock music player.
works fine
thanx-a-lot
Works great! Still need an antenna though. So i just cut the jack from an old pair of headphones to make a small antenna. 2 stations with out antenna, all with the jerry rigged antenna. Has anyone thought of opening this up to add a small loop for an antenna?

Thank you for this app. I tested it both on CM7 (nightly) and Froyo CEE (deodexed).
Until now, all works good.
I think about a strange behavior: if I plug out the headset during listening radio, the radio doesn't close but stays in status bar. I know that it can receive signal without wires...but the signal is 0, the sound output also. So where is the benefit?
Can you make a version that require always wired headset?
P.S. here is the radio. It is an install pack.
I have good reception with some stations even without any wire connected. So it's perfect app for me.
This is a gread App with imho a big drawback:
can't change volume, when screen is locked.
Any workaround for this issue (under official Froyo)?
It's not work when install another MOD. after CM7 CR1.
I reinstall CM7 RC1 again.
Thanks capnkillem, for make ANT from speakerphone jack.
not surprisingly, few if any 3rd party FM radio apps do work on SGY.
the stock FM app is kinda crappy in that the RDS data is not visible enough.
one needs full access to all RDS data, of course.

that's the difference between FM radio apps and radio apps.
theres lotsa streaming stuff around but I was talking real FM radiowave 100 MHz +/-
Has anyone tried my app, Spirit FM ?
Latest free version is here: http://www.mediafire.com/?v369y5839c7dgoz The Unlocked version has RDS.
Does this use a Broadcom FM chip ? If so you may have to enable Menu->Settings->Debug->BC 4330/20780 for low level (root) mode.
Working or not, if someone sends me a debug log I can tell you more.
Use Menu->Test->Email->Logs and after a few seconds. enter "Galaxy Y" in the email text and press send.
And is the FM really mono ?
Thanks !
I tried but it didnt worked I have sent the log tried on hybrids 4.0 and stock rom

I presume the stock FM app works, so I'll examine it to see if there's a new secret to be learned.
Sometimes it's just one little modification.
I saw the RSSI values were negative, but I presume an earphone was plugged in for an antenna.
I would also be interested to know if you can start the stock FM app, then Spirit, and see if it works then.
-------------
I'm searching through my email now and have found several people have sent me logs.
At least one says that it's working and I see the RSSI values are good.
So,... hopefully there is just some bug to be fixed or configuration setting we need.
I'll post again when I come to some conclusions or get an idea.
I've gone through my emails and 2 people have reported success, in February and March.
They were both using stock unrooted ROMs and set Audio->Method to "Samsung SL".
So, on ROMs on which the stock FM app works. I think my app should work with that audio method and Debug->FM API set to "OEM Proprietary".
While in the Debug config, you may as well enable Debug->Power Aud Foc Off and Debug->Unmute Aud Foc Off and restart the app. But if it works now, disable them and see if there's any difference.
As of a month ago or so, AFAICT, nobody with this device has made a purchase of the Light or Unlocked versions.
My Tmo H1 has 1.27 software, this is obviously older than the 1.29 ota everyone's speaking about correct?
I'm not asking when Tmo may/may not roll this out, but if I were to flash a 1.29 rom, what would be different other than losing wifi calling?
It fixes the capacitive button problems, it fixes compatibility with apps such as the Amazon Appstore, and it has some other improvements to Beats Audio and the camera.

Taken from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245637
1.29.709.12(214.04MB)
1. virtual button sensitivity adjusted
2. slow motion video quality improved under low lit
3. better Beats Audio experience
4. better background noise when using headphone
5. better bluetooth device matching
the only bad thing about the 1.29 update is they cut the loudness of the speakers down a bit

Interesting you say that. From all the reviews I've read they've mentioned the speakers were crazy loud but in my experience they're just decently ok. This is still on 1.27
I tried several 1.29 roms and for some reason wouldn't install HTC TV for using the IR blaster. Anyone else had this issue?

I understand it's a stock app, and by didn't install, it doesn't show up after installing the rom. This isn't my first go around with installing ROMs either, that's why I'm puzzled about it.
Searching through the applications it doesn't show up, scrolling through the application in settings it's not there. That's why I'm a little confused. I can mess with it more tomorrow and post screenshots, but I just went back to my backup and downloaded all my spotify music again :cyclops:

no, I work in a T-Mo Corp Store and there is no plans right now to update to 1.29. T-Mo is kinda slow at times updating stuff. Just install the international rom if you live without WIFI calling.
With the new Un-Carrier Unlimited plans, I'm not sure why so many people are sweating the wifi calling?

Reception blows in some neighborhoods. Also if you travel internationally you can make calls at any wifi hotspot and only spend your US carrier minutes. I'm not sure why wifi calling ISNT a bigger deal than it is.

these app u mentioned are about sound so they should not do anything with radio
check if u flash anything else related to radio like basebandor something?
if u get crash for radio click send report and then click view system logs and take screen shots of error logs.
this can tell me more detail about ur problem and hopefully to solve it

I had an issue recently that the FM radio app won't play any sound. Later found out through Google that it was caused by the Google Now any screen 'Ok Google' setting. Once that was disabled, radio app worked properly. I hope that's what's happening in your case.
