Hello. Can anyone help me with connecting my Lumia 800 to NCS?
When starting up NCS, i click Add new unit and the window then tells me that i need to plug in the usb to my phone and select NCS usb mode.
But i get no such option on my phone? Are there any specific drivers i need to install or something?
I think you must use Windows Zune application
Have you gone into the "driver" folder in Nokia Care Suite installation folder (where you installed it that is) and installed winusb drivers?

Hmm should be some .msi files. WinUSB Drivers x86.msi for example.

With NCS you can flash it, not much difference though if you only want it for updates

Hi, if you can wait more or less 1h I will upload the file u need to work with folio ; )
That would be great. Thanks.
Hi, you must change the "android_winusb" file for this mine and should work (extract it from rar).
You will find this file in "***/android-sdk-windows/google-usb_driver
(I assume you have the last Android-SDK),

Thanks, it's working. Anyway I am going to install complet development enviroment in linux under vmware.
+1
i am missing one called ADB and High Tech Computer lol any idea how to get them
http://www.htc.com/us/support/thunderbolt-verizon/downloads/
you need HTC Sync.
If you download this it will allow you to just install those drivers you need and not HTC sync itself.
still does not have those 2 drivers
Do you have ADB installed? Have you downloaded the Android-SDK for Windows? Without that, you aren't going anywhere with ADB.

hmmm it did for me, but read below. Also, if it still says it isn't installed, go to device manager and right click on the ?ADB and click install drivers, and tell it browse your computer and chose drive C: and click OK. It should find the drivers.

first thing you need to do is this, download the SDK, put it where ever you want, and then run the program inside the main folder, which will update everything.
i think it installed when i installed htc sync i did the sdk thing with the nexus s so maybe that worked out but the high tech computer does not want to i am trying to tether from where you plug it in to the comp and on the TB show what you want to do like like mount etc...
Here, this'll get you going:

Hi,
I updated my Lumia 800 to WP7.8 using Nokia Caresuite. Now I tried to unlock it with the phone registration tool coming with WP8 SDK. I am using Windows 8. The problem is, that the phone cannot be connected. Further in Zune I can't see how much space I'm using on my phone. Is there a new Zune for WP7.8?
Greets
update:
Windows 7 and WP 7.1 SDK worked.

No, just go ahead to control panel and uninstall everything whose manufacturer is Nokia (no need to uninstall ncs, and, of course, don't touch zune), and, of course, reboot. I had the same problem and it helped me and couple of other people.
I had a similar problem on my bro's Win 8 PC (as I am an osx user). We couldn't deploy the xaps so we just uninstalled zune and downloaded it from microsoft's site again and it worked fine after that.
I managed to unlock my phone and deploy the apps through the WP7 SDK. Did it on Windows 7, though. Worked like a charm.

mind to pm me how to do it?
I had the same problems, I had to uninstall the drivers after use of the update software. For some reasons the drivers of the updating software did not seem the same as the Zune standard drivers. *using 64xWindows8
After uninstalling everything, worked fine again

All you need to do is uninstall the WinUSB drivers so the Zune drivers will be used again.
hey guys. i'm here because i too have a lumia 800 wp7.8 and it has been unlocked using the windows phone developer registration app.
the problem is, i can't deploy any application onto my phone. i've tried countless of .xap files to deploy (using Application Deployment) but the status keeps saying:
"XAP file is invalid".
My phone is registered. it connects to the zune software (which i have uninstalled and installed according to the posts above).
I tried it with Tom XAP Installer and it said "Make sure device is unlock" and "make sure it is connected to zune & pc".
I also tried it with MultiXap installer and it said "nullable object must have value".
Please help me!
Is there any way around this? greatly appreciate your help.

What kind of XAP's are you deploying? Pirated apps, your own, or copies from the Marketplace?
Do you have any error codes? Are you using WP7 or WP8 sdk, which OS?

My XAP files are downloaded from the Marketplace. I chose "Download and install manually" and that's how I got them.
No error codes. When I click on "Deploy", the App Deployment program just wrote "Status: XAP file is invalid".
I'm using the WP7.1 SDK with the SDK WP7,8 update.
My laptop is running Windows 7. My phone WP7.8.
Thanks for the quick reply
Hope I provided enough information!

No, you cannot install xaps from marketplace this way, why would you need that? All this apps can be installed via marketplace on the phone. The point of developer unlock is to install homebrew apps and those that cannot be submitted to the marketplace.

For those who updated Windows 10 Anniversary Edition and facing issues with MTP mode (Media transfer protocol).
Just uninstall the driver and update manually from the .inf i uploaded
Don't forget to click on thanks button.
not working for W10 anniversary edition enterprise x64
maybe it works only for x32 edition ?
this is what I did without luck with your shared file "wpdmtp.inf" :
1) removed old drivers traces with USBDeview
2) rebooted
3) downloaded your driver wpdmtp.inf file from Microsoft 10.0.14393.0 (21-06-06)
4) installed your .inf file following those steps:
> Windows 10 device manager
> Add legacy hardware
> Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)
> Show All Devices
(retrieving list)
> Have Disk
> MTP USB Driver
> picked "wpdmtp.inf" file
Note: maybe you should tell us when to plug or not the smartphone device in the computer USB port because it's probably important!
just install MiPCSuite, the driver will be auto installed...
Need that for 64 bit........... If anyone have then share please.

I did it manually and it worked. First uninstall already existing MTP from device manager then, go to windows/inf/ right click on "wpdmtp.inf" and choose "install".

It's already part of Windows 10 64 bit. no need to download a separate file. just follow the path on the screenshot

In case you didn't know, inf files are driver files, so that's exactly what you need.
This is the solution

This is it! Takes care of many other posts regarding USB connectivity of xiaomi and other phones. If you cannot find the .in under windows/inf/ right click on "wpdmtp.inf", just add it by unpacking the above attached .zip File. Thank you!
