first i hope you made a back up via clockwokmod or twrp and have it saved... the saved backup will have a boot.img file in there, extract that file and put it in the same folder as your fastboot file... then boot into your hboot and load up fastboot and then plug in the data cable so it should now say fastboot usb after on your computer in a terminal window type in
fastboot flash boot boot.img
that should restore your boot.img file so it doesnt loop...

Open the zip file of the ROM with winRAR. Copy the boot.img from it to your fastboot folder(folder which you have used while rooting your phone. It should have files like fastboot.exe, adb.exe etc). . Now boot your phone in bootloader (vol down+power button).
select fastboot. Connect to PC. Now open up Command prompt and navigate to your fastboot folder in command prompt. Type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" . Then reboot your phone.

He is still on leedroid ROM with stock kernel . As he had not used the fastboot method before, his kernel is still the same meaning kernel from leedroid ROM isnt flashed to his phone. So flashing stock kernel again will not work.

alot of ROMS are built with stock kernels

it worked and yes im useing Lee Droid_3D_GSM_v5.3.0 and the kernal is LeeDroid_Evo-3D-GSM_v5.3.8-1..89GHz.in all my flashing this was the first time i got a bootloop and it drive me crazy man what would i do without you guys thanks thanks thanks

If you are flashing a ROM that contains the same kernel as your current one, then you can flash the rom.zip directly from recovery as if you are s-off. No fastboot, no flash image gui needed if kernels are same.
jslim28 was facing bootloop issue and the reason was a different kernel.
If leedroid ROM contains a stock kernel, he would not have faced bootloop at all.

I found out what went wrong I flash warms Rom and I found out that its a multi device ROM and it contains three kernels and I flashed it using GUI app and it flashed so i didn't like the ROM at all and i decided to go back to my daily driver and that's when i found out that it completely wiped my boot.IMG when flashing back to Lee's ROM so if your using the GUI app to flash the kernel be very careful and if the ROM contains three kernel's it doesn't let you choose which kernel you want to flash it choose for you and that's knot good

I'd try Chads kernels. Pretty much everyone else's kernels are outdated compared to his.

I assume you flashed silverneedle on top of a 2.3.4 ROM, which is why it wouldn't boot. That kernel is designed for 2.3.3.

He's still around. He's dev'ing for the Nexus. He just didn't feel like doing the 3D even though people basically paid him (donated) to come over.
Unless he has a surprise for the 3D, which I doubt it though.

Nevermind.....
I did the same thing; tried to flash silverneedle through flash image gui, but on top of Scott's CleanRom 2.9, which bricked it (of course), then followed the steps that the poster did to fix his, to no avail.
I can get into recovery and everything, but I have tried many combinations of kernels and roms, with data wipes all over, yet still nothing gets me past the htc screen. Technically I do get past that screen, but all I can do (without removing the battery and booting to recovery) is turn the capacitive buttons on and off with the power button, lol.
I am using twrp btw, what is different between his problem and mine that is keeping his solution from working for me?

You should do it with a PC not directly from phone if you are on hboot 1.50 and 2.3.4 ROM. Silverneedle is kernel made for 2.3.3 ROMs.
Copy a ROM's zip file to SD card using recovery/card reader > Copy boot.img from the ROM's zip file to fastboot folder > boot your phone in bootloader then select fastboot > connect your phone to pc (it should say fastboot usb on phone)> now open cmd > head to your fastboot folder in cmd> then type fastboot flash boot boot.img > then type fastboot boot xxxxx.img (xxxx = your recovery img (cwm/twrp) ) > Now your phone will boot into recovery (make sure red LED is on in recovery) > then wip everything using a wipetool > then flash another another ROM .......
this is what i have done. I was able to pass the htc screen and the screen went black.Everything was working (even touch was working, Volume keys tooi can hear sound) but the screen didnt light up it was black....
Hope this helps.............
Try going back to cwm... I had the same problem after flashing twrp2.0... So I flashed cwm back and flashed the rom the adb/fastboot way and everything went good...... A lot of people are having problems with the new twrp....... I'm on hboot 1.50 if your wondering....

Success! OMG THANKS!
What I needed to do; Copy boot.img from cleanROM2.9 into my fastboot folder > Cmd Fastboot flash boot boot.img > cmd fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (my twrp name)> clear everything> flash cleanrom2.9> reboot
I was trying all last night to do this, but my process was incorrect; I tried to create a Kernel from the boot.img inside cleanROM and flash that separately, but it wasn't working because on Hboot 1.5 you MUST use fastboot usb to flash the boot.img directly, THEN flash the rom on top.
Would this be the case for all ROM's, or just the ones that use custom kernels?

If you are going to flash a ROM that uses the same kernel as your current ROM then you dont need a pc (i guess so)........and i have a method to flash kernels/ROMs without using PC on Hboot 1.50. I never had any issues with it . The only issue i faced was in a sense 3.5 ROM(but i dont know if it was due to my method or the ROM zip was corrupted )......
And For flashing custom kernels use flash image GUI . But remember , Only use 2.3.4 kernel not 2.3.3

[Q] Can't flash new ROM. Goes to boot cycle after...

I am using TWRP 2.0 but I can't flash a new ROM. I currently have WARMTWOPOINTTHREE ROM backup, but I tried to flash a new ROM after wiping everything, and when it re-boots it just goes to the white HTC screen and then goes black and just repeats it self over and and over.
so i take the battery out and boot my back up from recovery. what do i need to do to be able to get back to installing whatever ROM i want.
i am a obviously a noob so whatever help anyone can provide will be appreciated.
i was trying to flash the ZR3D 1.2 ROM by the way.
If your phone is a gsm version try this rom:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1267131
I just installed it on my evo 3d and works smooth
no its CDMA
I would go to Cwm 4.0 for recovery had nothing but issues using the latest twrp . Worked fine for awhile then it didn't wipe right to causing weird issues . Funky things after the rom flashed .

need more info in regards to how you flashed your rom but at this point im willing to bet you have lost your Boot.IMG and also did you use GUI app from market i did this and that how i lost my Boot.IMG and if so you will have to go to your pc and exract the Boot.img from the rom you flashed and after you have exratced file go to that folder and scrooll down until you see the Boot.IMG file and you will have to copy and past it into the folder that you used when you first rooted you phone and go to the start menu and typ cmd and you will have connect your evo to usb and typ fastboot flash boot boot.img and this will it boot right up after you flash the boot.img file

Also have you read everything on ZR3D thread?

We need a lot more info. What hboot? What rom? Cdma or gsm evo? What recovery? Did you do a full wipe?
We're comin from a pure power source.
From and educated guess I would say you are S-On and failed to flash the kernel via "fastboot flash boot boot.img" in fastboot mode.

I guess you are htc unlocked and havent flashed the kernel seperately via fastboot.........or you havent wiped the previous rom.
bootloop
and also need to know what custom recovery you installed sounds like you lost your Boot.IMG if so you will need to exract it from the zip folder of the rom that you have install and then go to that folder and scrool down until you come to the Boot.IMG and copy and past it in same floder that you used to install your su file using command promts and typ fastboot flash boot boot.img

[Q] Bootloop after unlocking bootloader and flashing rom and recovery

I unlocked the bootloader for my friend's evo 3d (on hboot 1.5 with 2.17.651.5) with htcdev.com, then i flashed cwm with fastboot, and after that i tried flashing miui 2.5.3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1571021) i wiped data, dalvik, and cache, before i flashed, and i got a bootloop, i tried wiping data and cache after flash and i still got a bootloop, i tried doing the same with twrp and i got the same problem, i tried installing the official miui.us evo 3d build and inbREDed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1269610) and i got the same problem with both recovery's. then i relocked the bootloader so i can ruu, but ruu recognized the image on the phone and asked me if i want to update to 2.17.651.5 but when i clicked next i got an error message saying there is trouble connecting with the phone.
What can i do?

yes there is one thing you missed.... you have hboot 1.5... you caan not write directly to the boot partition so what you have to do is take the ZIP file of the ROM you downloaded and open it..be it in winzip, winrar, or whatever....there is a boot.img file in there ... take that file and extract it to the same place as your fastboot.exe file and the rest of them... then go into your hboot and load up fast boot and manually flash the boot.img file to the partition and he should boot right up...

Hey bro, can u give more detail about how to manually flash boot.img? Looking forward to hear from u. Thx
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
you gotta have an unlocked bootloader or s-off, and then copy the boot image from the rom you want to flash, into the folder with adb and fastboot, then boot into the bootloader (when phone is off hit the -volume button and power, highlight fastboot then hit power, then connect the phone to pc) type fastboot flash boot boot.img, wait till it finishes then you can go into recovery and flash the rom you want.
Actually, once a recovery is flashed from fastboot, you can enter it via " fastboot boot yourRecoveryFilename.IMG" and flash like normal including kernels on hboot 1.50 s-on/unlocked. See guide in my signature.

Rooted HTC one x+ using wrong rootboot version and lost signal and wifi

Hi,
I just rooted my HTC One x+ using RootBoot for Software number 1.14.401.16 and i had completely forgotten that I upgraded to 1.17 today
I lost my signal, wifi isnt working and it was stuck on the HTC logo for a while but its unbricked now. I still have no signal or wifi though.
Does anyone know if there is a new rootboot version?

So, you have a recovery installed, either CWM or TWRP? Why do you want to keep the stock ROM?
Use the All in One tool from Hasoon or follow the guide for the original One X that explains how to set up the fastboot folder on your C: drive, then flash one of the above mentioned recoveries for the X+ via fastboot, then flash the boot.img of a ROM you'd like to try, also via fastboot and then flash a custom ROM from recovery. But first make sure that you download a custom ROM.zip and transfer it to your phone as unlocking will have wiped your SD card.
Or you can just root your stock ROM, for that you need the Super User tools, so after unlocking, flash one of the recoveries for the X+ via fastboot, power up phone, copy Super User tools to SD card and flash them in recovery!
Make sure that you understand what you are doing. Reading first is mandatory!

You need to flash the boot.img inside the Rom.zip that you download. Put the whole .zip on your SD card, boot into bootloader, select fastboot, hook up the phone, point to the folder your fastboot files are located and you dropped the boot.img, open a cmd window, and type
cd c:\fastboot and enter, then
fastboot erase cache and enter
fastboot flash boot boot.img and enter
fastboot erase cache and enter
Unplug cable, select hboot/boot recovery, select, then inside recovery install zip from SD card, don't forget to select the wipe option in the aroma installer...
The whole process takes like 20 mins, including download of the ROM, copying the boot.img into the fastboot folder (make sure there is only one boot.img in there...the one you want/need), flashing the boot.img, flashing ROM in recovery and booting up (which takes like a few minutes)
Hope this helps

Just to make sure http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34173694 is the CWM recovery for the X+ or use the TWRP recovery found in the Android Original Dev section...and please, use the search button, read, understand and ask if you don't, and then a hit on the thanks button is appreciated

Which ROM did you flash ? I have the same problem and have no luck with decoding HTC stock ROMs.
Please try to flash boot.img from ARHD 6.2 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1987885
I am in a same problem ase I flash my ARHD 6.2 Rom and after the Oxp_elitekernel_130119, all work but my data connection is not stopped when screen is in sleep mode...
Is Oxp_elitekernel_130119 works fine with ARHD 6.2 ROM ?
