hi this is a tutorial where I will show you how to make the keyboard works as the stock rom ONLY FOR CYANOGEN MOD 7.2 , CYANOGEN 9 , MINISANDWICH , THAT ARE NOT BASED ON STOCK ROM THAT BY THESE NO NEED TO DO , but if someone could make the application Keyboard can be installed then it could make the SYM key works it does not work with other applications keyboard
NEED
-winrar
Now download this:
http://www.mediafire.com/?0n4oy7ndn72s5wh
-now that you have downloaded unzip everywhere
- Open the rom (example Cyanogen mod 7) with winrar now go to the system folder and delete the folder USR
-now take the file you unzipped first and pass it to the rom, it will compress and close winrar
-pass the rom to the sd card installed and the keyboard will work with their corresponding keys

Nooo the files NO COPY WITH ROOT EXPLORER
you had to place files in the zip of your rom , on your pc with winrar.
And copy on your sd card and reinstall the rom
NO in your phone with root explorer!!!!,

heh? cm7.2.0 _has_ possibility to use the hardware keyboard...
just go to settings - phone settings and set your keyboard layout...
otherwise: I tested your package content but all I got was the same like what I already use... sum key also does not work. I guess to get this work you need a certain app, I currently don't have identified I also think there are more dependencies.

Yea but some on fpx 111 this opcion has been delete
and work on minicmsandwich

my phone is already rooted. i tried using astro file manager v3 but after copying the file when i go to sd card to paste the file it says the file doesn't exist
Try another file manager then?
try ES File Explorer, you can use it to read/write into the system folder

Below are my phone details please help.
Thanks in advance.
Xperia SK17i

How do I copy files to 'root' folder?

Hey guys. I recently rooted my x10 running stock 2.3.3 . I hav since installed xrecovery also.
I tried to fix audio stutter problem by copying the audio fix zip file to the root folder. However it said that I cannot copy it. What to do.
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
in case you missed these.
in most explorer settings theres a root selection (asking root permissions)
in case you cant find it dowload root explorer and remember to change the ''mount'' to r/w
and im pretty new to all this so this is not something you should use until confirmation is given but can't you usually install these zips trough recovery ?
hope it helped.
Yeah dude frm xrecovey only we hav to do it. However it says to place the audio fix zip folder inside the root folder in system and then flash via xrecovery. I cannot place it inside the root folder. I copying frm.root explorer and doing it also. Still it says I don't hav permission.
The only thing I actually flashed via xrecovery was the frames per sec zip. In that case I could place the file anywhere on the SD card and do it.
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
could be wrong but i remember reading a line like that to 'placing it on your root folder'
basicly it ment putting it on the SD card
i believe you'll be able to install it by
*putting it on sd card
*go in to xrecovery
*install custom zip
*selecting the file and voila
im looking for otherf answers/problems and ill see if i find anything brb
---------- Post added at 04:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:50 PM ----------
pretty much all say flash like a rom incase it aint working then there might be a permission problem ? i think thats in advanced options in xrecovery (the permissons)
I fixed permissions in xrecovery. .still if u find out something abt it lemme know.

this is what i found looking for a tutorial on the audio fix
1.The first step is to make sure that you have upgraded your device to official Gingerbread and have root privileges with xRecovery installed. You can follow the video guides here to get root and xRecovery on your device after upgrading to Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread.
2.Now download the Xperia X10 Audio Stutter Fix zip package from here and save the archive on your desktop.
3.Now connect your phone to the computer, mount SD Card and copy the downloaded file to SD Card root.
4.Once done, reboot your device in xRecovery.
5.After you are in xRecovery, go to Install Custom Zip Package and in the resulting menu, select the zip file you earlier copied to SD Card root.
6.Now press OK to install the fix.
7.After the fix is flashed, reboot your device normally using Reboot in System option in recovery.
8.Now once your phone boots, play any song to check if stuttering has ceased.
so i dont know if you tried putting it on sd card or not if you did could you give me some info on what error your getting ?
Lol no error. I hav seen this very same.document. it says " mount SD card and copy to root folder "..... where is the root folder so that I can copy to that? ! Cuz when I mount it shows all the files on.SD card. It should show one directory above it.
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
I think what u said maybe is right....just copy pasting on.SD card and flashing via xrecovery
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
i found that very confusing to seeing english isnt my native language but yes
it means just somewhere on the sd card whare you can find it will do
Hi,
Have you checked your phone installed with SuperUser too? It also involved for ''asking root permission'' for apps which need root access. Another thing, you can give ROM ToolBox a try? Many features provided along the apps including copy/explore/extract zipped files, RootBrowser, CPU kernel tweaks, editing Build.prop and many more
''Google is always your friend'' if you want to find its APK file
Extra: Copy ur files into SD card will be best way to be flashed via xrecovery
Sincerely,
whitefang
Pls Hit Thanks button if this helps or convinces you
fix permissions
Yo! I hav superuser. I hav titanium backup installed ( root access accepted) ,screenshot demo, setcpu, autokiller n swapper. All require root access.

Unfortunately, due to X10's hardware limited support, 4points touch is not possible. In official 2.3.3, Dualtouch is supported along with updates. You check your Build.prop text like this below:
ro.product.multi_touch_enabled=true
ro.product.max_num_touch=4 But ''4'' seem don't works, you might see effect of ''2''
Gamepadding in emulator will not be problem, allowing two points touch
For Touching sentivity like increasing scrolling speed, you may need find Custom Launchers. Hope this helps.
Sincerely,
whitefang
I know I have dual touch. But its kinda buggy and laggy...not while daily use, but when u play games u find out ...

Yeap. Backup can be many meanings like ur ROMS, Buildprop, Apps, Datas and etc. Most Probably will backup into your SD card. In specific folder for their backup. Only the app which started the backup can only view its backup content/format.
About the tweaks, i don't think it's necessary to post here But NO WORRY!!! You can find whole bunch list here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227269

[Q] I think I broke my keyboard..

Hey guys,
I'm kinda new here and I have no idea if I posted this in the right section..
Today I made the decision to root my phone 'cause I want to extend my battery life, for some reason it didn't occure in my mind to make a backup (I'm retarded I know..) and now I broke my keyboard.
I wanted to install the Swype Beta and saw on a forum you had to delete the old swype first. So I used the Terminal Emulator and deleted Swype.apk and my keyboard flipped.
Now I don't have a keyboard any more and for some reason I also can't change to the default keyboard..
I tried installing Swype Beta using copy and paste (for the inlogscreen etc.) but when I try to download the application it gives me a parse error...
I hope you guys can help me!
Thanks in advance

Would you also be so kind to give me a mini tutorial how to install that zip?
Or is it just the same as rooting the phone?

Bit different...Depends on the guy who writes the fix.If he has mounted the system in the updater script but its better to mount system anyway because the updater script doesnt mount system sometimes.
Here is the zip sorry I don't have 2.3.5 only 2.3.3,2.3.4,2.3.6,2.3.7 so I tried 2.3.4 keyboard....
download
http://www.mediafire.com/?0b9ftgzqzwt4wqg
About telling u how to make it....
What the zip does
Pushes the apk into system/app
What u need to do
go into META-INF/com/google/android and open updater-script.file (Wordpad will do)
Then insert this code
Code:
ui_print("Installing");
run_program("/sbin/mount", "/system");
show_progress(1, 15);
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
run_program("/sbin/umount", "/system");
ui_print("Done!");
What everything means
ui_print: desplays custom text in recovery
run_program:runs something in this case it mounts something
show_progress:Shows a statbar that is out of 15 movements and starts at 1
pakage_extract_dir: extracts the folder "system" to your phones system folder in root
But
Just that code won't work remember it has to extract an apk...
the code says that it will extract the system folder so there has to be a folder named system in the root of your zip
and u want to extract the apk to system/app so in your system folder there should be and app folder with the apk in
Ok thats it
If my zip fails copy your keyboard from your rom named "AxT9IME.apk" (in system/app) to my zip in system/app (replace my apk)
If all else fails reflash your rom via odin
GOOD LUCK
Well mate if swype is gone, the samsung keypad is still there. Try this, Long press and hold in any typing window, like the space where you type message. A menu will appear asking for input method, and select samsung keypad. Or you need to flash zip as the guys are already telling you.
Just use open up Terminal on your desktop (If you use Linux) and type:
cd /home/[YOURNAME]/[WHEREVER YOUR APK IS]
adb start
adb devices
adb push [APKFILENAME] /mnt/sdcard
adb kill
exit
Then on your phone, use a file manager, and open the keyboard APK.
Be aware that everything has to be case sensitive.

flash Gapps into samsung rom?

Have any one tried this?
flash Gapps into samsung based ics roms.
The gapps that i'm talking about are the zip file that you need to flash after flashing CM9 or AOKP roms.
this is because the stock messaging and stock calender app are much better than the samsung ones.
will there be any problem if i flash those on top of my samsung based rom?

well instead of flashing the zip file and facing isssue's of Boot loop or stuck on the boot screen logo.
i would suggest u to extract the .apk file's of the same ie stock messaging and calender then push the same to system>app folder using root explorer/browser and then set permission to rw-r--r-- of the same apps then reboot ur phone and see.
ps- ur phone has to be rooted to use the rootexplorer/browser app since it requires root permission
else simply put the apk files in ur sdcard and then install from there and see
