Digital copies have drm I have not tried, but I'm sure the incompatibility is because of that, there is a program called requiem which should be able to remove the drm and then you should give it a try.

I tried to watch a couple of UltraViolet Digital Copies that came with my Jurassic Park Blu-Rays but unfortunately I'm rooted so I can't watch them! I didn't get them until after I rooted the device so I can't test them in a non-rooted mode. The temporary "Hide Root" apps don't seem to mask it good enough so I still get an error when I try to play them.

Yea. I have no problems wife mounting a network share, playing with dlna or upnp, or playing synced media files on my note.

I googled for Requiem back when I did it and downloaded it from their actual site, I couldn't find it right away, this might help.

It's working on a stock based ROM so you can give it a go. The only bear is that you won't be able to back up if it doesn't.
Download Installer from the Market, unzip the file and place the apk on your SD card. Then locate it with Installer and try installing.
If it doesn't work you may need to do a factory reset to get the original music app working properly. The Sense one should still work though.
Thanks for the quick reply i appreciate it!
No worries! Let me know if it works out for you.
I'm sorry. Haven't been on the forums for a while. Thanks BrandoKC for helping out.

Free TV app! Suck it Hulu!

So I just came across this nifty little app that apparently has on demand episodes of a very very large volume of shows. Little ad box at the bottom of the screen, but acceptable for just TV shows here and there.
WiFi recommended. Maybe if we had real 4G it wouldn't be necessary...
http://www.appbrain.com/app/tv-shows-free/org.apps.PVRViewer
Oh how nice it would be to have HDMI mirroring.
This is actually pretty cool. It has Modern Family and Mad Men... I haven't looked any further but those videos played fine.
Nice find! This is pretty cool. Thanks

It appears I was able to pick this up in the small window that it was on the market...I'm currently trying to find a way to edit the default resolution of the app, as right now it is not taking advantage of the Atrix's increased resolution and it's not filling the bottom of the screen, anyone had any luck with this yet?

I'm more than happy to deodex my system, but theres no way to REodex just yet. It can potentially lead to update problems. I see no real benefit to deodexing. I don't really care for the reboot (although would be very nice), and ad's are usually outta the way.
The ad in this app doesn't interfere with watching the show, but it would if it was full screen...
Well after flashing the stock sbf and re rooting and using the market fix I can't find this app anymore... Wish I had saved it with titanium backup.. I know they just came out with the hd version that utilized way more of the screen if anyone has this app could you post it here? Maybe att is blocking this app? Might have to wait till I get to a wifi, switch air plane mode on, and see if it shows up. I can find the developer but not the tv shows free or tv shows free hd app... Any way to keep att from restricting what apps show on the market?

Out of interests sake why do you want it? The inbuilt player is rather pathetic.
Thank you so much. Downloaded and tried to install, didn't work. I just downloaded another video player from the market and it works better anyways. Also I uninstalled motocast notifications and now I get no SMS notifications lol so guys probably wanna stay away from that one. Using handcent instead now, which that works better as well.

[Q] Getting YouTube links to open in App

Whenever I click a YouTube link it opens in the browser instead of the App.
Is this pertaining to the "data tapping" patent that Apple somehow was awarded and does anyone have any idea how to make it work as previously intended and open in the YouTube app.

Thank Apple for this. It's part of the patent that had these phones held up in customs. It's the same on any US based Sense 3.6 rom and Sense 4.0 rom such as the HTC One X. The app that does this is htclinkifydispatcher.apk.

If you have root you can use a file explorer and rename htclinkifydispatcher.apk to something like htclinkifydispatcher.apkBAK. This will break a few things. You won't be able to open any links from the default text app, google talk will crash everytime you try to open a link, and you won't get youtube links to work in stock browser, but all other programs work fine.

Jesus Christ...I froze mine with titanium but YouTube still opens in browser. I will try it your way and see if I can live with it.
Why must Apple mess with HTC. I have had a Samsung Galaxy S and GS2 since the first Epic launched and this is seriously the one thing I hate about the EVO. Esp if I have 6 tabs open when I try to click a link.
On Viper also not that that matters.
Does any devs or anyone have any thoughts about reverting it back and having it be stable?
I would pay for the old way...I didn't always wanna use a certain app when hitting things and now I'm forced to set defaults.

Freezing doesn't work, I forgot to mention after renaming the file you have to reboot. Also make sure to clear defaults for the stock browser, and while you're at it, I suggest downloading ICS Browser+

The irony there would be if you did that, so you could open links to YouTube with YouTube app, then somebody texted you a link to a YouTube video. Lol
But yeah, this infuriates me The way apple screwed us!! I mean, it used to work beautifully. It was genius. Can't wait for some AOSP ROMs, as they won't suffer from this. Everyone should smash apples

If you use a third party messaging app it's fine. Honestly HTC just needs to add more options to their app associations. Sense ROMs from other countries don't have this problem so a custom sense rom using their apks would solve this problem.

Its not the right to use it that has them in trouble its the method of opening links that apple claims they have the patent. Well not claim they do have it. Its sad they would give a patent for such a common function.
