I've had this problem ever since installed then uninstalled avast and the antitheft bit that sometimes youtube won't play videos.
The app shows the videos available and I can search but when you click to play all you get is the spinning circle.
It doesn't happen often and a restart of phone always fixed it before but now that's not helping.
Cleared cache etc but nothings working. Anyone know what can cause this and how to sort it?
Its a stock rooted gb rom and only happened when avasts hidden app didn't uninstall after getting superuser rights and I had to freeze the hidden app then uninstall it with titanium backup. It did say (avast) something about doing something to nand...could that have any effect such as this?

Sooner or later I'll ask something at xda and get an answer (hasn't happened yet though), but anyway I found a solution so to anyone having similar a issue try this....
Use titanium backup to backup youtube app. Then use same app to uninstall youtube.
Reboot device (probably not needed but I did it anyway).
Use titanium backup to reinstall the youtube app (don't reinstall app data, just the app).
That's it.
Hopefully it will help someone if they have same problem.

I think you need to start your own thread with that as its nothing to do with youtube videos and so unless someone having youtube problems and owning the same phone as you also happens to know the answer you probably won't get one but I found a page via google where someone having your problem fixed it.

didnt work for me :/
Wow, thank you. I was struggling with this on my rooted Android tv box since the beginning of 2016. As time passed it just got worse and worse unto the point of not being able to watch any video. It would just spin and buffer. Tried posting this problem on different forums and reading and looking until I found this. I gave it a try and it worked like magic. At least until now. I don't know what's going on with these YouTube updates but they just seem be making the app worse with every update. Mine started happening since February and ever since just got worse. Now I have to figure out the other known issue of all my subscribed to Channel's videos just piling on in the notifications section. Ive tried deleting them from my phone, my PC, and my Android box. I've done everything i've read and could think of without figuring out how to delete the dam notifications. Thank you

[Q] "Wi-Fi sharing" and Wi-Fi sharing manager"? Not needed for normal WiFi usage?
I find these 2 "Wi-Fi sharring" things running usually.
Sometimes they even rank quite highly in battery usage.
But I only use WiFi as a normal client for internet access, never for tethering, so I can stop those "WiFi sharing" processes?
Did Samsung/Android unintentionally mix up the naming of processes?
Has any one else ever seen "Wi-Fi sharing" rank highly in battery usage, even though he/she only uses WiFi for the phone's own internet access?
I have this exact same problem with the Wi-Fi sharing running in the background & draining my battery completely!! Still haven't switched over completely to this phone yet because of this & really hoping I can find a fix for it.
I've seen this mentioned in other threads but most of them talk about rooting the phone to achieve the solution.
Is there any other option for stock users? I can't believe Samsung would expect everyone to do that!!!
It's driving me insane. The battery is completely dead by the mid day! Thankfully I haven't completely switched over from my trusty Desire HD just yet. But am aching to use the SGS2 if there's an easy fix for this.
Anyone have a solution that doesn't involve rooting the phone?
Big thanks in adavance and apologies if this has been discussed already but all the threads I found only involved rooting.
Cheers,
AndroidFreud.

What exactly did you remove & how?
Also does this remove any other functionality that you may need later on?

Wifi sharing comes up once every time I stop charging it. (takes 30 min before it starts) I kill it once and it does not reactivate until I next charge the phone.

you can remove it using titanium backup.
these 2 have no effect on the rest of the regular wifi functionality.its for connecting to the pc through WIFI.
they will appear as long as the WIFI is on
you can use titanium back up to back it up and remove them. in case you will need it you can restore it.so theres no harm. try it.
hope that i helped with it

Flashing my firmware to KF3 fixed this for me.
Previously I was on KE7, and had this problem.
I flashed KG1 and this is not an issue at all anymore either. If you don't feel like flashing, you can use Titanium and freeze both the sharing and sharing manager with no side effects from what I can tell. I am assuming wi-fi sharing would be convenient if you could share between two mobile devices using wi-fi but not if its a bug as it was in earlier firmware builds.
I used Titanium Backup to freeze those 2 apps. Very glad to hear that the KG1 does not have this issue anymore.

I did the same too.
Apologies, I'm a noob to this. I understood using titanium backup would mean you would have to have root. Is this not correct?
I've only recently got this phone & am on the stock rom. I'd prefer not to root a it would void my warranty.
Is flashing any different? I also have a desire hd & haven't had to deal with any of that. How would I go about it?
Sorry again for all the noob questions. Any help at all would be appreciated.

Well, you might lose the warranty if you are not using a tiny jig . The point is that you can flash custom roms / kernels, etc as much as you want, and if you brick you phone, just insert the jig and everything goes back to normal. But you will have to flash the stock rom / kernel though. But if you want root (more acces to your device) you can do it without changing f/w or anything else. Is good to have root especially for titanium backup imo. With paid version of this app you can even freeze things you don't use everyday or anything else (e.g. wifi sharing).
(sorry for the bad english, but I hope I was helpful)
Thanks for the quick reply.
What's a 'tiny jig'? And do you have any link on how to go about flashing? Will also do a quick search on this. Thanks again.
I'm just finding it incredible that Samsung would expect their users to go this route instead of via an update?! Arent any other users experiencing this?
I tried updating through About Phone> Software updates> but it always says connecting and then connection failed so have not been able to see if that works.
Thanks again for all the help.
UPDATE: Ok did a little searching and came across this which answers most my noob questions. Going to try it out.

Ok so that method earlier mentioned apparently will void the warranty so I'm back to square one again.
So has anyone out there been able to fix this on a stock rom? Anyone who got an official update from samsung that actually fixes it?

what you do with it? damm everytime that I check this forum I feel like I want something new
Hello, everyone!
I am new to Android and to this forum, so someone please give me a step-by-step solution to the following issue:
I have a Goclever i102 netbook (it's basically a tablet with a keyboard). It runs on Android 2.3.3, kernel 2.6.35.8, build GRI40. The problem with it is that when I try running some apps (including the media player and the file explorer - "My Pad"), they just turn on for a second (enough to see the title bar) and then instantly turn off. I also tried resetting to factory settings, but that didn't solve the problem.
I would try anything (even upgrading OS if necesary).
Please someone tell me how to solve this issue by myself...
Thanks in advance!
Did you try looking in Settings->Applications for a compatibility mode option for specific apps?

At least you got it to install, I get the message telling me that it's incompatible with my device. However, the TWC TV app (which it is likely rebranded from) installs fine. Just doesn't do much good when I have Brighthouse.
Brightouse is claiming "A rooted device does not allow us to set the permissions the LiveTv app needs to function properly".
Is this not such a bunch of crap. If their coders were worth a gain of salt they should have no problem changing or modding any permissions their app requires.
I'm guessing they are scared that rooted devices are able to record anything on the desktop. Sadly there are apps to help non-rooted devices to record the desktop too. So what would be the point of even searching for the xbin folder, which again I'm guessing that they are doing.. If this in fact what they are doing, could we add an app to rename that folder when the BH app is launched and rename it back when it closes?

Sounds like a bunch of bull****. A bit pissed that it aint working because of the stupid rooted crap. Someone has to find a way to modify the installation of this app but who will????
Thanks guys for the responds. Like everyone is saying it is a bunch of BULL****, but hopefully someone will come up for a solution to break this. By the way I started thinking why does it matter if our phones are rooted to B.H.. We pay them for service to our TV/Internet not our phones. It is not of their business what we do with our phones and if we made a decision to root, they should not block this app. to us. We pay the same amount that the person that did not root and they get to use this App.
I tried a little but the program won't get far enough along to help because usb debugging was enabled. I was using eclipse to monitor the log file while I launched the app.
There's a somewhat interesting (too much iFruit for me) discussion here http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r27195196-iPhone-Android-tablet-users-get-Bright-House-TV-App-Joy- on the subject. Looks like the reason behind the ICS only is because of DRM. Is it possible, the same reasoning was applied to devices being rooted or not?
the TWC app got a fix for rooted users, any chance there will be a rooted-compatible apk for the brighthouse app?
Wahoo!!

I restored the device several times- installed other rooms and so one... They are not bloking the imei, but they are having some file on the phone, that includes the info about the violetion.
So the option is to reset the device to factory settings, install instagram,, opne it... Hit the Sign in button and then go to RAM clearing options- clear RAM memory and switch back to Instagram, but be sure the screen is where you must sign in the username and password and vuola... your in... After signing out, you must do the same thing when you need to sign in with other account or other one or creat new one... as soon as you pres sign in button- clear RAM and then sign in.
at the moment it`s the only solution I found, but have not been seeking for the option to find the file which is responsible for the info about the violetion.

Fount this just this morning. http://m.lg.com/ae/support/product-help/doc-1401122177743-ar-LGEME
never actually used it. Always delete the app on every rom i use
Yeah I had only used it once when I first got the phone. But a co worker said he saw a pop up when he tried to use it so it made me curious. Thought I'd spread the word of what I found.

After it uninstalled itself this morning, I am still left with a Vutalk uninstall app AND when in a call, I STILL SEE VUTALK on the call screen! What kind of half baked nonsense is this?
They should stop making junk like this, along with the rest of their bloat...

Good riddance.
It's still comes up on an active call. Anyone know how to get rid of that?

I'm not rooted, so I guess I am stuck with this stupid dead app's button.

Is that available only if rooted?

Google Play should have installed an app that will delete the data.
The service (as stated) is going offline July 1st, so that may be why you can still see things.

It did, but that button in a call still remains as does the non functional Vutalk Uninstall app. Very odd...
Hey, sorry for hijacking- but have any of you been able to get a Vibrate On Call Connection (as opposed to an outgoing call dialed) feature to work? I've tried everything outside of flashing a new ROM & basically the consensus is that it's an issue with LG itself.
I only tried to use Vutalk once as I only my mother had it. The app just uninstalled itself a few minutes ago so I searched and found this thread.
If you're rooted you can get rid of the remnants with Xposed (not sure which module it is, though)
Edit: Found it, it's G2 TweaksBox => Calls Tweaks
lg vutalk went of lg server is there any way to reactivate this personally??
Hey all,
I'm actually really upset that Lg took away VUTALK.. it really ruined my day when I found out perhaps it was one of reasons I decided to go with Lg in the first place.. is there anyone that can tell me if there's anyway around this.. I really want to make this feature work again and cannot understand Why everyone felt it was so unbeneficial.. it was very useful to me.. please give me any advice I'm not exactly tech savvy when it comes to this stuff.. but I was thinking if servers down then there's no way for me to go around it?
I not use it never...anyway, i uninstalled VuTalk
