Ok so see if anyone can figure this out:
While listening to music on Poweramp, the songs play ok but every once in a while, they stutter or skip like a broken record played real fast and stuck on one part of the song.
Is this a RAM issue? Something else causing a conflict that is using too much memory?

Ok well.... I have ckosed all apps and used PA at maximum RAM savings, still does it. I even OC'd the processor to 1.83 and it still does it. Anyone else have any bright ideas? I also uninstalled and reinstalled the app, cleared memory and still does it.

I have music stored on internal memory or external SD?
If so, is it a cheap SD card, or at least a class 6?

Stored on external which is 32GB class 2. However, I've read that even class 6 and 10 also exhibit same issues.

I've read many posts about people with sd card problems, but my question is a little bit different. I have not had any problems until I decided to upgrade to a 32GB card. my new sd card works fine on the touchwiz based stuff, but won't mount on any mtd based ROM at all. So if anyone does have a working 32GB sd card on an mtd ROM, I'd like to know the brand and class rating.

Mine works fine. I have a class 4 Sandisk MicroSDHC
Hmm, then i'm at a loss since that's the brand and class rating of my 32GB card as well.

I'm using the glitch kernel RC v13, I've formatted it through there, but when ever I booted my phone it can't read my 32GB, I have to pop it out, then put it back in.. Its a lot of hassle because I have case mate a 2 layer case. Is your sd readable after a reboot?

I have a 16gb pny class 10 and it is working great with no issues. Although my stock 16gb san disk would have those problems. I would have to keep pulling it out or reformat it every other reboot...but it works fine in TW roms.
I've actually gone through two 32 GB cards both sandisk class 4. The first one I think had a overheating issue, one day I look at my phone and it says the SD card could not be recognized... Put it into 3 different computers/readers and nothing would recognize it at all... also used R-studio and no dice. Once I got my second one now I'm actually getting issues again with some of my data being erased randomly. Other than these problems it works completely fine in CM7 with Glitch V12. When will I learn to backup my stuff more often
Hey all,
I am a die-hard PowerAMP user... i tried them all and this one IMO is the best. However, i recently installed the most current build from the market and i'm getting some random skipping. I never used to have this issue - not sure if it's the version or what. it will skip all by itself even when no other apps are running with 400MB of free RAM. This is the first time i ever used the "buffer" options and the "audio Thread priority +1" and they don't seem to be making it any better.
update: 3/27** installed older 2.0.5-build-443 and i haven't had any skipping issues as of yet.
I too am I avid poweramp user and I also experience these problems. I have yet to determine the cause yet. Im leaning more toward the possibility of the latest build of the software though. Gonna load it onto my other devices later today.

I use power amp on a daily basis and so far have experienced no problems with it. It might be because my music is from an external SD card and not the actual notes memory!

I too have this issue. I was thinking it was RAM related but it doesn't seem to be. All my music is stored on an external SD as well. It did it when they were stored on the Note directly too. Hopefully it is an issue that can be fixed on PA side. Maybe I'll try playing through the stock music app and see if it continues.

No skipping here on the stock rom with power amp pro. I'm running off a Class 10 card.

Skips on my 32gb class 10, but only sporadically. Some days it does it a lot, other days not at all. Haven't found any rhyme or reason to it.

No issues with power amp.
Class 4 16gb.
All kinds of formats from mp3 to flac
Poweramp works fine for me too. Try/download the build 488 from their website, that's the one I use. No external SD card here.
Edit : nervermind it's exactly the same version than in the playstore.

Ok. When I owned a htc desire hd, music skipping and cutting out was always a kernel problem. I have just figured out my solution For poweramp...settings...advanced tweaks...buffer size to large. Also change audio thread priority to +1
Been playin for 8 hours at work with no skipping.
Hope this helps.

Is there any way to upgrade the internal 16GB storage to a 32GB? I'm not referring to the external MicroSD card.
It might be possible i think samsung use SD cards as their internal storage.
Yh of course there is sell ur 16gb version nd buy the 32gb version

ORRRRRRRR you can try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1772234
is it even possible ? unless there are motherboard with 32 gb for sale ?
This is not possible for the conventional person unless you have access to some pro level reflow ovens and flash chips.

You need a laptop hard drive, super glue and a hammer.

So is that basically a no, without serious mods to the phone?
Dude the internal flash memory is what's called smd in electronics (surface mounted device). Basically they are miniaturized semiconductor components with tiny solder pads which can only be joined with specialized equipment.
It's impossible to mess with it at home, that's why I sprung the extra cash for the 32gb version.

This is indeed a very interesting notion since the galaxy s3 was my very first smartphone and android I thought to myself that with the 16gb internal SD with an extra external SD card it should suffice but I was very wrong as apps only install in the internal SD card and I'm almost at my limits since I have alot of HD games and apps installed.

Just buy a 64 GB micro sd card.
Have a look at Directory Bind. This should solve your space issues (assuming you have a micro sd card in your phone).

hope so , so far there is no update on this , not sure if samsung gonna enable this,
even a china phone with android has this function
any recommendations?
so,
i was recording videos using the phone. its video quality is so damn good.
but it takes so much space, so i had to delete few videos.
i only had 8 i think, each one of them is about 1 gb and such.
so, where can i buy a SD card for my phone?
and after I installed, where all my games from play store would be installed? on the phone or on the sd card?
and, is class 10 the best one?
Sent from my SGH-I777 using xda app-developers app
Yes, class 10 is the best.
You can buy on eBay.
There is a Samsung class 10 pretty good.
You can't install apps on external.
But you can move all your media to there.
Also a few roms support saving directly from camera to external.

Has anyone ran into a issue with their sdcard and their Note2?
Last night I used my Note2 with no issues. Woke up this morning and noticed I had a alert message saying that the sdcard had been unexpectedly unmounted. Couldnt get the sdcard to remount. The phone wouldn't/couldnt reconize thw sdcard. And even my laptop couldn't reconize it. But the phone reconized a different sdcard, so I know the phone reader is still working. But this is a Lexar 64gb class 10 xc sdcard. Not some cheap trash. I lost my nandroid backups, movies, pics, etc....
Just glad I wasn't running the Jellybeans v18 on the sdcard swap selection. Then I wouldn't be able to use my phone period. Lmk if you have seen these sdcards go out before. Just beware!!!

What he's referring to is JellyBeans additional "SD Swap" feature which basically makes your phone see your SD Card as the internal storage. I don't know why he thinks his phone wouldn't work though, as with any phone the Internal Storage/SD Card is not required for the device to operate.

I've ran into this issue with Lexar jump drives and had to use command prompt in W7 to make them work again. It always happened when I would write a Linux distro to the drive to use as a bootable disk.
The fix requires you completely wiping the drive, which the two jump drives in question that I always have issues with are actually micro SD card readers with whatever size card in them.
Here is the link explaining how to fix it:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/219693/unable-to-format-usb-stick-to-full-capacity/
What I have to do though is select the disk drive and once in it I have to use the Create Partition Primary command instead of selecting a partition because on my drives there are no partitions and it won't even show up under Computer most of the time. Give it a shot and see if it gets you back up and running, if not you may have a faulty card that Lexar needs to replace.

I reformatted both, but 16 gig will show blank card on the wife's phone until unmounted remounted. Both less than 6 months old, on the same day. I blame the solar flares, what else can I blame it on?
