Hi guys I'm getting a bigger SD card and I was wondering if it was possible to move my game SD data to the microsd card saving space on the the internal memory any ideas on how to do it

I'm wondering about this too.. don't have the data allowance to really download any new data... and just effed up the Dead Space data.
I was just cleaning up my phone files and sd card files, kept all the android>data>.com.ea.deaspace etc files intact (as well as all the other). I may have moved them to the phone storage in the process. Then half my apps lost their icons and showed a greyed out icon saying "sd" in the corner. And trying to load them resulted in a message like "app not installed".
So now I have put the data on both the phone and sd card, re-installed Dead Space from the market, but all it wants to do is re download the data.. So frustrating .
Any ideas anyone ? .
In your case though, should be as simple as copying the entire sd card from one to the other. And if the bigger card with the copies doesn't work, you'll still have the original to fall back on till you can figure out a work around.

Something weird happened yesterday... I'm assuming I hit my phone while it was in my pocket (I work a labor driven job) and I'd imagine I did it very hard if this was a cause.
But I had the notice 'SD card unexpectedly disconnected please unmount before removing' or whatever the notice is... Well any and all apps I had on my SD card show up as present on it but are not recognized; they show up as follows "com.[file name].android" or whatever its root name is I'm assuming... these file names show up in task manager and titanium backup as being on my SD card yet in storage it says my entire SD cards space is free.
Please educate me; does this mean they are on my SD card still or not?
Whats just as weird is that I started re-downloading some of the apps that (were or are) stored on my SD card and it says "This app will replace an existing application on the devise. Do you want to continue?"
Any ideas on what happened?
Here's the side question done what related: I had been experiencing lag if I went awhile with out clearing cache and/or killing apps/ clearing memory that were running in the background that had been stored on the SD card... Could these running in the background which I'm using requires constant communication with the SD card be the cause of the lag? In other words is it better to keep all apps on internal space if I want a snappier/ fluid experience?

Take your SD out of the phone and stick it in your computer. If it shows up and everything is still on it then you know it's not the SD, but the phone. If it's not showing up on your computer, well.. then it's the SD card that's busted.
Cross your fingers that it's not the phone.
totally new to partitioning my SD card, if i partition the card does the phone automatically use the space when it starts running low or what?
sorry for the newbishness, but any info/guidelines/or link to details on what its about and how to do it would be appreciated.
Thanks
I had a similar question. Is there a good reason to install something like DarkTremor to the EVO 3D? Always seems I am running out of low internal space even though I am always moving apps to sd card.
You ran out of space, even with 1.1GB and then still moving apps to sd? I find that hard to believe. What do you have installed?

I think what he's trying to say is that even with moving apps to sd he keeps filling his internal space back up before getting around to moving everything in the meantime to the SD card manually ...
and we're both looking for a better solution.
DTa2sd symlinks a partition on the sdcard to data. It does not switch over and start installing apps on the sdcard once internal memory is full. Its only good when you have a phone with a small internal memory to begin with. I will look into something that should help with what you want.
BTW: My internal memory is almost full. With the size of some apps and their data it is way to easy to fill up the internal memory. You are not looking at just apps, but also the data associated with them.

On my Samsung Galaxy S2 on Sprint I used Apps2SD by Sam Lu to move many of my apps over to my new 32 gig SD Card. After a bit I realized that I had moved many of the apps over that should have stayed on the main internal storage, mainly because of widgets. So I moved many of them back.
Shortly after doing that I was at a retreat with my phone on airplane mode to preserve battery life. I took some pictures and videos, read my Kindle app and Bible and then plugged it in to charge. The next day several of the pictures and videos I took showed up as a black icon and were not accessible. Then I noticed that all the apps that I had moved to the SD card were "greyed out" and even some of the apps that I had moved back to the internal storage. The phone then told me the SD card needed to be formatted.
Since then I have tried to use file recovery software to recover missing files on the SD card and it finds hundreds of photos and several videos, but nothing else. So the big question is, where are my apps? Does anyone have an idea of how to recover my missing apps? They show up on my phone with "greyed out" icons so the phone thinks they're installed but obviously they're not. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Nathan
The same with me...

I had the same problem my apps that I had transferred on my SD Card had a grayed icon. This happened when I had plug my USB to store some files on my internal SD Card in my I9000. When I plug my phone and pressed the "Connect USB storage" button it seems that the app had freezed so I unplugged my phone and did it again for several times. When Im fed up I tried to browse my phone and there the icons of the apps I had transferred on my internal SD card had turned gray. I tried to unmount and mount my internal sd card but still no luck. I tried to restart the phone and even remove the battery still no luck. I guess the best solution is to reinstall the apps. Sad to say if i try to plug the phone again as an external drive I can see the files on my phone including the OBB files of the games

in theory, if you re-install the app without clearing the cache, then all your files and settings should be there.

I did reinstall my apps and most of them retained their settings. I later had the SD Card begin reporting as needing to be formatted again so I removed it out of fear I may have gotten a bad SD Card. I don't know if the phone has issues with loosing SD Cards or if I bought a bad card. Haven't had time to trouble-shoot so I'm just going without a card for now.
I am having issues, once again with storage. I have tried to move everything to the SD CARD, that I can move to the SD CARD. I believe that all my pictures and videos are also on my SD CARD. But for some reason, I have no storage left on my phone, and its getting really annoying. I cant do anything, because it keeps saying that there is not ebough storage space left to do anything.
When I connect my phone to a PC, of course there are a lot of folders that come up. Are there any of those folders that I can just drag over to the SD CARD without messing my phone up??
I attached some pictures. First 2 are screen shots of my phone info, so you know what I am working with.
3 rd picture is a screenshot of the folders that come up, when I connect to the PC..
Last picture just shows my storage space.
So just from first glance, are there any folders on my list that can be moved to SD CARD, without messing anything up or losing anything important?
Should I erase the cache from all my apps or will that erase info that I need?
I just really need more space.
Someone please help....

You really can't just drag files over.... What does Settings>Storage look like? It should point out if it's apps, pics, etc
Here is my storage. Most of my apps are on my SD Card, so I dunno why 5 GB is from my apps. & I dunno what MISC Files are...

well, you've got over 2 GB in cached data alone, that is quite a bit. Tap the Cached data line and it will ask if you want to clear that. Other than that, there just isn't much storage on these phones in the grand scheme of things.
You can clear some of the misc stuff away as well... Saved me a gigabyte.
If you download Avast Cleanup from the play store it will clean garbage files off your phone. When I installed it, it cleaned 2GB off of my phone that I am free to use now. I love it! It doesn't erase anything like music or app data, just stuff nothing on your phone uses!

Oh how I love my 32gb MDK S4
Sorry, I couldn't resist

When the notification comes up that I'm 75% full it offers me to transfer all data to the SD card. I've tried several times to move all the app data possible to the SD card (as I have about 20gb free on it) but it gets stuck on about 6% I've left this for a day but still gets no further. Any way of sorting this out? I'd like to just free up some of the internal memory space. Everything else on the tablet is on the SD card, so just apps remain.
Thanks
try this... it works well, just hope your device is rooted.... check out the video above..
