i have 1 big problem ie my cell (neo v) has a huge battery drain problem
i have cm7.2 fxp111 rom with night elves kernel with i/o sheduler to noop, governor to conservative and overclocked to 1.1ghz......
every 10 mins i have a drop of 1%
n my cell cant even survive 15hours
and wen in sleep mode there is 20% drop in 7hrs
want to find possible solution cant find in other threads..........

UC to 700-800Hz for normal use ( Whatsapp and messaging)
UC to 900-1000 for browsing + Music
And go above1Ghz for gaming
Set governor to conservative at ALL times ~ Works for me
And use SET CPU and set profiles
ie when screen off - 700-800Hz
Time 1am-6am 600-700Hz
Etc
I use these settings and i get Around 15hours of heavy usage
AS for the highlighteD and underlined text
Use better battery stats -SEarch XDA
Tottaly your problem is with overclocking...
thank you guys
i did as qwerty123 said
i installd setcpu made profiles n really it helpd me alot by increasing my standby time......
bt i wanna know what shd i put in up threshold n down threshold and other options.......

Don't mess with those options
Thats complicated stuff I've never messed with it

SetCPU is one app everyone should install to manage tthe battery
So what is you profile guys ? what setting have u guys kept
Suggest few setting best fr X10 and help other having difficulty with battery life..
I will post mine soon..
Default 245-998, on demand
Sleep & Batt<10% 245-384, on demand
^^ thnks ..
here is mine
actually u can play a lot with setcpu if u know wht function does wht
still i cant unstand few complicate things but here is mine
Charging/Full 998/245 Priority : 100 Governor : Performance
Charging usb/full 998/245 Priority : 100 Governor : Performance
Charging AC/Full 998/245 Priority : 100 Governor : Performance
Screen Off 768/245 Priority : 50 Governor : On Demand
Battery <50% 768 /245 Priority : 50 Governor : On Demand
Battery <25% 384/245 Priority : 50 Governor : Powersave
Battery <15% 245/245 Priority 50 Governor : Powersave
the last two is mainly for saving the last bit of juice in the battery.. will save you from time where u cant charge the phone but you want to keep it alive in case u want to make that one emergency call or waiting for that important call. Remember the phone will be extremely slow in the last three profile and if u are using too many apps , it might crawl. so its for those who go out frequently and charging is kind of difficult..
If anyone have any suggestion or better profiles , please share ..
Yup, but I only have few objective
> no performance loss
> battery save
> emergency. it could last half a day with 10%@low cpu and no usage.
I tried that setting long time ago, i found it somewhere here in xda. but I also found that with laggy phone, it also takes longer time to finish something, it cost even more battery as the screen were the main eater, not the CPU.
That's my point.
yup even at 768 x10 feels a very laggy... its mainly because of the screen size...
That is one of two apps I've not bothered to install on 2.1, because the battery life has been significantly improved.
Knowing the Hero hasn't got a amazing battery, many users try and get the best out of their battery by overclocking etc, but like me, I want to know the best settings to look after my battery, can you help??? Basically, I use mostly Froyo (Elelinux's Roms), and set setCPU or cyanogen CPU settings at smartass min 176 max 652, I only usually play a few games and browse using opera mini, text a lot and a few calls, but I think the battery could be WAAAAY better, so please post what ROMS you use your setCPU/Cyanogen settings at, and what governer is better and a good CPU setting? Hopefully you could help me and many other users....
Thanks.... Regards....GARY
salsa sense rc 2
overclocked smartass 176 - 729
with auto backlight maybe 2 hours gaming some youtube/music and a lot of texting i've got 12 hours before empty
(try batterycalibration from the market (free) to calibrate and optimize your battery.. gave me 2h more batt.)
SalsaSense RC2, LV 0.4.7
Profiles:
Screen Off: 176-264 smartass, priority 100
Charging: 352-633 ondemand, priority 90
Battarey<17%: 176-518 ondemand, priority 80
So ive been told that underclocking or undervolting might actually harm battery life instead of helping it by making the process slower before it completes.
What are the best set cpu settings for battery life?
If i decide I dont want to use setcpu how can i restore the default values?
Search for the setcpu thread by lennyuk.
All your answers are in there. Sorry don't have the link but you will find it. Think it might be in android development and hacking section??

UC/UV/OC can harm your phone if not properly taken care of.
Each cpu is different so there is no 'best settings'. If i share my settings, it might not be stable in your phone, or may be you can undervolt more than me which means your cpu can handle lower voltages better than mine.
You can use an init.d script (if your kernel supports) or SetCpu or Voltage Control to overclock/underclock/undervolt.
First thing, search through kernel threads and find a kernel you think suits your taste best.
Next, using setcpu or voltage control, set a min and max global frequency.
Now for each frequency lower the voltage by 25 mv (from stock). Keep doing this until your phone becomes unstable or hangs. Use the last settings that didn't cause any problems.
I have a profile which works only at night
from 11pm to 6 am 500mhz with power save.
Once i tried 1000mhz conservative, for the whole day, does seem to give me more battery life at the end of the day.

Shouldn't the phone be in deep sleep (200mhz) at night? If you're not using it ofcourse.

Deep Sleep doesn't mean locking on to lowest frequency supported by kernel. (200 mhz on stock).
Deep sleep is the state where both cores shut off, and system (O.S) goes to sleep, governor stays idle, etc etc. There will be some background processes running too, but cpu is not using 200 mhz throughout deep sleep.
EDIT: Or you meant a screen off profile.

The phone should be in deep sleep, but some apps don't let the phone sleep at night thanks to there inefficient coding.
Anyway it does seem to use less battery, without this profile, I loose around 9% in 6 hours, but now I loose only 4-5%.

just unistall setcpu and then reboot your phone and then you go back to default values
My u20i on nAa kernel and MiniCM7 2.1.9 has a poor battery life....
Its down to 10% in less than 12hrs with minimal use, no data and no wifi...
I have calibrated it many times by removing battery stats in CWM recovery...
I kill all background services only 4-5 running apps....
plzzzzzzzzzzz help what to do for battery drain improvements..
Do all this at ur own risk
Delete the app DSP manager if you dont use...
Use interactiveX as ur cpu governer, set min cpu speed to 19mhz and max to 652mhz(stable for me) or 691mhz and check undervolt(at ur own risk)
Uncheck surface dithering(at ur own risk)
Download juice defender or any other battery saving apps...
Or just change to a better rom like Arc Mini NXT6, Gingersony, Prime HD.
I have a problem the moment i play a game my phone screen and the back side becomes very hot and then after i close the application if my battery is 50% its only taken 20 minutes to reach 0%
system battery config says that screen is using most of the battery
after i reboot the phone its becomes alright
some apps and games i use
Network spoofer
f18 career landing
splinter cell
and pro evolution soccer

s2 getting heated a bit while playing games is a known issue ma8.
u can try a different kernel and see the same heating issue gets reduced, though not complete but to considerable extent.
If ur kernel suport governour seting , try to use set cpu and use ondemand gavernor to playing game

changing rom to 7comp lemme see if i am facing the same issue
i am aware of heating of phone while gaming but then on stock roms the heat goes down when sames are switched off
but here the heating is on till the time the battery does not go to 0%
have set cpu ondemand lemme see if it works
thanks..... will comeback
I've played GTA3 on these settings:
CPU: 1600-1600 MHz, performance, I/O vr, dual-core mode
GPU: 100-200-400 MHz, 900-1000-1100 mV
+ charging battery
= max batt temp.: 52°C & no reboots
Just try to combine settings
Dont forget to use sio on i/0
No need to say thanks just press it
Known issue, Use different kernels and optimize the setting for yourself.
