Question, I grabbed the tasks apk from my wife's galaxy s2. I placed it in my systems app folder and changed the permissions but I still can't get it to install. I really like this stock version just because it can sync with my Google account. AND I KNOW I CAN GRAB PLENTY OF APPS FROM THE MARKET BUT I WANT TO USE THE STOCK SAMSUNG ONE.
Is this even possible to do or is it simply a dead end just like the video maker/editor apk?
Thanks

I just got my Prime and I signed into my Gmail account in the Market and not all of my apps in have downloaded on my phone are there. This is just my second android device. I am sure this has been discussed already. What do I need to do?

it should only show apps that are compatible with your device in the market app on the tablet
if you want to make sure, just go to market.android.com on a computer (maybe even the tablet) and it should show all the apps you've downloaded, then try to install and see if it lets you send it to the tablet.
it's also pretty hit or miss with free apps as far as them showing up under my apps on another device.
Hi,
Since trying out all these new ROMs out there (hats off to their wonderful work), I've noticed that the att modded roms have a market feature that's been driving me batty. I'm not saying its the at&t roms, but I've just noticed this since I started these roms.
The"my app" section used to have a list of the installed apps, and below it was a list on the apps I've purchased, which is cool.
What I've noticed recently in the"my apps" section is a page with the installed apps, then if I swipe to the right, the page shows all the purchased apps, plus all the other apps I've installed since I've started using the market (ones I've stopped using out didn't like and uninstalled). Which I'd cluttered and annoying when reloading apps.
My question is, if it is the version of the market, can I load the Rogers version of the market, out if that isn't practical, can I devourer this list somehow?
Not a huge issue, but an annoyance.
Thank you in advance.
+1

Just use titanium backup to manage your restoring and you won't have to worry about it

Saves me from having to do a search for apps that I have a license key to. Launcher pro and fuel log pro arre 2 that come to mine that I import setting within the app due to tibu bugs when restoring data to them.

Thanks for all the great info. I want aware that was a feature of the new play market.
It's very annoying.. Thanks for the advice of restoring from titanium. I should be able to pull a market apk out of an old ROM zip and install it.
Play needs filters!
Google needs to have a way to sort purchased apps from every other app I downloaded within the past 6 months, which is MANY. I have to scroll 3 pages then might see one purchased app, scroll two more pages to see another couple...

What that guy said.
I find it easier to manage my apps from a computer. I just log onto my google account and then send the apps to the device I want them on...
https://play.google.com/apps
market, website bug
Using PC was my bright idea, untill I figured out, that it only shows you about 10 pages of your apps, alphabeticaly, and there is no way to show next one, so my list ends on letter G.
Also using market on the device after choosing to install an app from the list, I am returned to the beginning of the [email protected]#! Major annoyance.
Also I have restored the device and then logged back in using same account, only to figure that it will not put all the apps back on...
So, if I could have a suggestion- could we have ability to have an app list to install in one click on a new device? Or at the least could we have our apps list with boxes for checkmarks, so we can check all of the nessesary apps and then install them?.... sigh
I know the answer is most likely no but I figured asking won't hurt. I have a few apps from the Samsung app store and wondered if I can get them somehow to my Nexus 10. (they are paid apps not available on the Google store). I got a Tb copy of the. Apk straight from my phone but it checks the license on my Tab and fails (of course).
So can I activate Samsung apps on the Nexus 10?
Well figured I'd rather post this in the Nexus forum. Any who if you got an idea let me know.

I tried this once as well with a AOSP/AOKP rom and it didn't work because (1) the Samsung App Store didn't work without Samsung framework and (2) the apk didn't install as you mentioned. Hence I guess you need the Samsung framework to run it, but maybe someone with more experience can give his point of view.
It won't work unfortunately, due to not having the TouchWiz framework. If you could put a ROM on your tablet that features touchwiz then you should be able to install the app with no issues.
Oh well thanks for the answers though. Maybe it arrives on the play store some day.
Hello all, I am new to rooting and I just rooted my LG Optimus F3. I was wondering, I can delete the following system applications safely? I understand that some system apps are needed for your device to function properly. Are these apps needed?
-Dictionary
-Google Play Books
-Google Play Games
-Google Play Magazines
-Google Play Movies & TV
-Google Play Music
-Google+
-Mobile ID
-Quick Translator
-(Virgin Mobile) The Feed
-Virgin - Discover Apps
-Weather
-Weather Theme
Thanks for any help.
You can delete them all. All the Google apps can be downloaded from the market any way. Use something like root Explorer and delete from system/app. You can also delete the associated libs if you want and the data folders.

I'm not so sure the other member's comment is true for your phone. I've had to help a friend with an Optimus who soft bricked his for with the security error from uninstalling some of the built in Google Apps. Samsung and LG do things differently in that regard. Please do a nandroid and / or understand how to restore your phone if need be. It really makes more sense to just disable or freeze them anyway as the end result is the same - gone from the launcher, unable to run, doesn't use RAM. You don't get the space back for other usable things unless you move other apps into /system/app but there can be other issues with that.
ohh...yes you can uninstall pre-installed
Apps using cleanmaster application..download from playstore
Most likely it'd be fine to uninstall those Google apps.

Please refer to my post a couple above yours. It is not always the case with LGs. OP should proceed with caution.
As you mentioned OP should backup in first instances then proceed. But I've been rooting since my DHD and have had no issues deleting such files on any of the HTC, Samsung & Nexus devices I've had but then again I've never owned a native LG phone but I assume it should be the same.

Not a safe assumption. There are plenty of threads about this subject on various LG phones (not all) and I've personally dealt with it from a friend who messed up his phone from uninstalling some Google apps.
That's fine then like I said I've not owned any outright LG skin based phones. But I don't see the issue of deleting Google apps from system/app. The mentioned apps are available to download from the Play store. OP you can try converting the said apps to user apps then uninstalling that way. Titanium backup can do this or other apps. If you delete Android dependent Google apks and libs then it will cause such issues like Google Framework or Google Play Services and such.

4 different phones. All removed Google apps. All bricked with the LG Security Error. I found these in 2 minutes. Android is very different across carriers, manufacturers, updates, etc.
The reason why was my phone was starting to slow down a little. So I froze them and that did the trick. Phone speed up after that.
Thanks Guys
i have a few apps which have updates in google play store.
on my tablet which is rooted i can use Titanium Backup to detach it from the store but it re-attaches it a few hours later.
i'm looking for a permanent way to keep it detached and never be in the update list.
also have the same thing for an app on my Samsung Note 9 which i want to stay on an old version and never update but as the Note 9 is not rooted i see a problem there. its Samsung Health (S-health) and its linked to my watch and syncs online so i cant use a resigned version as that breaks the online link.
as my tablet is rooted i have full access so can edit or delete anything. ive tried renaming a few files hoping they would break the google play store link but its still there.
can i just delete a file to remove it from google play store? which file? where?
thanks

It's not that hard, but you will need some tools. Basically you need to look up how to decompile and recompile apps. Then change the package name in the Android Manifest and then resign the app.
I use regular apktool.jar, but you could try something like apk multi tool. Then to resign the app, Venkat Kamesh has an excellent signing tool for free download.
Once the app name is changed and it is resigned it will no longer be connected to the play store. It also could be illegal, but I think you'll be okay as long as they're for personal use and you're not redistributing them.
