Widgets like Music, Weather and other social widgets etc are cool but only can work on timescape UI. i like sony's launcher but i prefer Go Launcher's smoothness. anyway to use their widget on go launcher and such?
Yeah me too, I would like to use the weather widget on Go launcher ex. Anyone know if this can be done?
Sorry to bump an old thread, anyone news?

I just love the default weather widget for Samsung Galaxy S3. Problem is that when I change to Nova Launcher, the weather widget is not available from the widget list! What can I do to get the default weather widget in Nova Launcher? Must I switch to Apex or another launcher? :S
The default weather widget is part of Samsung's TouchWiz so when you change launchers you lose it. Going to another launcher other than Touchwiz will still not give you access to that widget.
You might try some of the widget programs like Beautiful Widgets in the market. They might have similar weather widgets. I know on my Rezound I use Beautiful Widgets for my HTC Sense style weather/clock when I run Nova.
Is there any way???? i need the weather widget in my apex launcher...

Yep, you only get the 'Calendar' widget.
The touchwiz widget apks are system apps. If some brilliant mind could pull them from system/app and (somehow) convert them to installable user apps, we would be able to use them with any launcher.
I'm not sure if this is even feasible...any takers;-)

Partially true…
On my Galaxy Tab P5100 with stock 4.1.2 and Nova launcher, the Accuweather widget was working flawleslly. It is a case, that it is partly a part of the system, because when pressed, it opens a full screen application...
Now, on 4.2.2 Nova can't pick it up anymore

That is inaccurate.
On my Galaxy Tab S2 the built-in Weather app used to provide both of its widgets to Nova Launcher without any problems: both the wide "clock & weather" widget and the small "weather only" widget were available in Nova. I had that classic Samsung's widget it on my screen in Nova for several years now. However, in my case just recently (around the beginning of November, I think) the wide "clock & weather" widget suddenly became unavailable in Nova Launcher.
The small "weather only" widget is still available in Nova Launcher though. When I switch to TouchWiz, I see two widgets under the built-in Weather app. But in Nova I see only one - the small one. This is a recent change.
I have no idea why "clock & weather" disappeared in Nova, but "widget is part of Samsung's TouchWiz" and "touchwiz widget apks are system apps" theories obvioulsy don't hold any water. Anyone?
I want to switch to either apex or nova but I really like the accuweather widget, is there a way to use it with a different launcher?

Download The Weather Channel. Done! Or get HD Widgets, it has 3 weather services in the clock widget and it is easy to make your own widget or use the random button.
Apex/Nova/GO does not work with TouchWiz/Sense/Blur widgets.
Fancy widgets, beautiful widgets, hd widgets all have virtual copies of the sense clock / weather / accuweather.
I have beautiful widgets and I dont see anything close to the accuweather widget.
I would also like that widget to use on Go launcher
Someone has got to have made this but I can't seem to find it. I'm using a "hubs" layout (one screen for social media, one for productivity etc) and I'd like to essentially have a horizontally scrollable launcher widget on each screen with apps that make sense for that hub.
Currently using simi folder widget which is cool, but I'd prefer the launcher bar that is activated by clicking on the folder to live in a widget right on the home screen.
Could anybody point me to a widget app like this? I'm pretty sure I saw a video where someone had this but didn't see details on what they were using. Thanks!
Edit: sorry if this would have been better posted in themes and apps. Please move if necessary.

If I'm understanding you then what you're looking for is a dock that can display icons that are specific to the current page? Something close would be Nova launcher which provides a scrollable dock. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it!

Thanks, I'm currently using Apex and I really like it. I don't want just 1 dock (no matter how many pages on it you can scroll through). I want a different set of apps in a horizontally scrolling launcher bar widget. Then I could put an instance of this widget on each of my homescreens with different apps in each one. Then when I swipe from my "Office" homescreen to my "Photo" or "Video" homescreens this "launcher" widget has the appropriate apps for that hub. Hopefully that makes sense.
Like I said, simi folder widget is pretty good for this kind of setup, but I thought there might be a better solution out there.
Hi I'm thinking of changing the Xperia home for something else. What of the alternate launchers would you recommend me? My priorities is efficiency, customizability, good organization and nice look. Moreover I tried some and noticed that it can't insert some of built-in default widgets, namely Xperia clock 2x1, Xperia notes 2x2 and Xperia system toggles 2x1. How do I use these in 3rd party launcher? Can I install these widgets as standalone app so that be accessible from any launcher?

If u want a fast, stable and customizable launcher, I would definitely recommend nova launcher... Smooth as silk!
For the widgets part, as far as I know, Sony widgets are only supported in Sony made launchers!
U could try xperia z launcher, its really good n smooth too! (but mobile needs to be rootednfor that)
Cheers..
XZ launcher seems not to be found on google play and too bad the 3 named widgets not available outside Xperia Home. I'm already used with them and thanks for confirming Nova, I have hesitated between this apex and sslauncher.

Vote for nova
I've tried it. But switched and used Sony Launcher again.
I like those widgets too
Sorry for going a bit off topic but, is there any Launcher that allows us to change its menu icon..
Most of the launchers come with AOSP menu icon and aren't changeable. I want one that can be changed to xperia like.

Yet a suggestion for acceptable Xperia clock widget replacement? I hate Clock JB+ and several ones I don't like too. Mostly I miss the tight widget integration with alarms and small size (2x1 only) with decent look. I also want to have shown date within the widget.
Is there way to extract these internal widgets somehow and install as standalone app?
I just started using miui launcher since miui hasn't been ported to Verizon's s4 yet. I have a few questions, how do I find the icon names for stock icons that come with phone ex. Notes, music player and camera. I know for apps of the market its everything after com. And my other question is why can't I use my stock accu weather widget with this launcher? It shows up in the widget selection list but I'm unable to add it to a home screen.
